the fact that I feel the need to go, "and don't forget about Black people" is the most damning indictment of tumblr that I can give without being tempted to mention photovoltaic bartholemew. I have to browbeat you people to reblog any kind of Melanistic Mention. I love you, but i despair of you understanding the way I interpret your suburban accent.
Tears that are driven by white guilt are self-indulgent. When we are mired in guilt, we are narcissistic and ineffective; guilt functions as an excuse for inaction. Further, because we so seldom have authentic and sustained cross-racial relationships, our tears do not feel like solidarity to people of color we have not previously supported. Instead, our tears function as impotent reflexes that don’t lead to constructive action. We need to reflect on when we cry and when we don’t, and why. In other words, what does it take to move us? Since many of us have not learned how racism works and our role in it, our tears may come from shock and distress about what we didn’t know or recognize. For people of color, our tears demonstrate our racial insulation and privilege.
I asked the woman of color I refer to in the opening of this chapter if I was missing anything in this list. This is her response:
It’s infuriating because of its audacity of disrespect to our experience. You are crying because you are uncomfortable with your feelings when we are barely allowed to have any. You are ashamed or some such thing and cry, but we are not allowed to have any feelings because then we are being difficult. We are supposed to remain stoic and strong because otherwise we become the angry and scary people of color. We are only allowed to have feelings for the sake of your entertainment, as in the presentation of our funerals. And even then, there are expectations of what is allowed for us to express. We are abused daily, beaten, raped, and killed but you are sad and that’s what is important. That’s why it is sooooo hard to take.
White Fragility, Robin DiAngelo (emphasis mine)
Please don't let money decide whether my mom lives or dies today. She is in the ICU, and every minute her condition gets worse. Nothing is more painful than watching her suffer while money is the only thing standing between her and survival.
Your donation right now is what keeps her alive for another week. It gives her another chance to survive.
Our critical target for this week is $700. We can end this nightmare immediately if 28 people donate $25.
Please, do not let her face this alone. Donate $5, $10, or whatever you can this exact second. If you can't, you MUST share this.
Life in Gaza is really tough. We are living in very difficult conditions, and every day feels like a struggle just to get through it.
My father is still very sick, and seeing him like this is breaking me. I wish I could do more for him, but I can’t.
I’m trying to stay strong for my family, but honestly I feel lost and tired.
Please, don’t leave us alone. Donate and share our story… it might help save my dad.
📌📌Fundraiser vetted (#167 by el-shab-hussein & nabulsi), But we created a new GoFundMe page because GoFundMe suspended the beneficiary’s account on the platform, which put us in a very difficult situation.
My mother's life hangs by a thread, and I can only watch as time slips away without being able to do enough to save her.
We still urgently need $500 to cover the treatment she has been waiting for.
Please, if you are able to help, don't put it off. Every moment that passes fills me with fear that we may lose her before she gets the chance to receive the care she needs.
I am begging everyone with compassion in their heart to help us today. No donation is too small, your kindness could bring my mother one step closer to the treatment she desperately needs and give our family hope when we need it most.

My sister is in critical condition. She is suffering from severe bleeding, and her heart is beating dangerously slowly. Doctors have told us she needs emergency surgery to survive.
Her operation is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, but we cannot afford it. We urgently need $1,200.
Every minute we lose is a minute she may not have.
I don't know who will read this. I only know that I am asking with all my heart.
Your donation today, no matter how small, could help save her life. Please don't wait, she may not have another chance.
I am creating this campaign on behalf of my sister, who is currently in a critical medical condition and urgently needs treatment to survive
Tomorrow is the final deadline to pay for my sister's surgery.
So far, we've raised less than $100, and we still need $1,100.
I sincerely ask for your help, If you're able to donate, please don't wait.
Your support today could give my sister the chance to receive the surgery she urgently needs.
This scorching summer has turned our tent into something that feels more like an oven than a shelter. Under the blazing sun, the heat inside becomes unbearable. Our children have nowhere to escape, and the elderly and sick struggle to endure the suffocating temperatures. Every day is a battle against the relentless heat, and even getting a few hours of rest has become nearly impossible.
All we hope for is a tent designed to withstand the summer heat—a shelter with proper insulation and the basic necessities that would allow our family to live with dignity and safety.
We need $1,200 to build and equip a tent that can protect us from the extreme temperatures. While this amount may seem small, it would make a life-changing difference for a family trying to survive in these harsh conditions.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to replacing this unbearable heat with safety, comfort, and hope. Your kindness can help transform our tent from an oven into a true shelter where our children can finally breathe, rest, and feel protected.

Help Walid’s Family Find Safety and Stability After Repeated Displacement in Gaza
I am Engineer Walid Al-Qatrawi. I am 36 years old, a father of three children: Adam, Hala, and Nay. I was born and raised in Gaza, where my family and I have spent our entire lives.
Because of the ongoing conflict, we have been forced to leave our home and relocate multiple times in search of safety. Today, my family and I are displaced in southern Gaza, living in a fragile tent that does not provide the protection and stability my children need.
After repeated displacement, my children have lost the sense of security and normal life they once knew. Every day, we struggle to provide them with a safe and dignified environment. Our tent offers very limited protection from harsh conditions and the challenges of displacement. We urgently need to repair and equip it, build a private bathroom for our family, provide food, clean water, clothing, and essential supplies for our children. If possible, we also hope to secure a safer temporary home where our family can live with more stability.
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference. If you cannot donate, sharing our story may help us reach someone who can.

proclaiming we're in a lesbian music renaissance NOW thanks to artists like Billie Eilish, Chapell Roan, Fletcher, Phoebe Bridgers, Dove Cameron and Renee Rapp is qWHITE interesting to me (dgmw I like those artists but)........... people are acting like Janelle Monae, Victoria Monet, Hayley Kiyoko, Arlo Parks, Halsey, Kehlani, Syd, Dua Saleh, Raveena, Kelela, and even Megan Thee Stallion haven't been CONSISTENTLY making music about loving women and eating pussy for well over a decade. is it only a "sapphic music renaissance" when white lesbians and queer women do it?

Another public service announcement. This time it’s air quality. Some of you are probably in it already if you’re in eastern Canada, New England or New York, but it’s sliding south, a huge mass of wildfire smoke. Please be careful. When it starts getting bad, especially, like when the sky gets orange or brownish, it’s best to run air purifiers in the house and wear N95 or KN95 masks when you have to go outside.
It harms your lungs and it’s especially bad for children (and pets!) or anyone with health problems. There are all kinds of chemicals in that smoke. It’s not only trees that are burning. The heat already makes it harder to breath. This makes it worse.
If any of you are experiencing it, feel free to tell about it in the comments. 💚
Also, throw out the mask every day and shower before you get in bed if you’ve been out or you’ll be breathing the particles all night. Stuff like that. It gets all over you, your skin, your hair, your clothes.
Two tgirls took me in but I still need financial assistance ta be able ta get onta our own feet. We do not have any goal, but all assistance is welcomed.
