perhaps one of the (if not the most) loudest critiques on bryke's treatment of katara over the years especially post-main series happen to be zutaras and I find it taxing that most of us aren't taken seriously? heck they'd even call you a misogynist simply for pointing out the obvious. they think we are only critical of it because we do not like the canon ship. but has it ever occured to any of them that perhaps, katara's endgame ship was simply detrimental for her individual character arc since bryke saw it as a vessel for their romantic fantasies? most of the concerns over how the narrative has treated katara can be traced to her endgame ship. which could have been avoided if only bryke bothered to develop their main character instead of handing out convenient retcons and deus ex machina. but alas, I guess being the self-insert, he serves as a mirror for the two manchildren.

Nobody has ever been capable of writing a scathingly harsh and well formulated satire about the perils of modern capitalism, that doesn't just get immediately one-upped by some random food service worker talking about their actual week.

recent epidemic of adaptations that take lots of liberties with the source material and also, separately, are bad. but then if you say "this is bad" you get hit with "you're just being a source material purist and you don't understand the vision"...like. well actually I think it rules when people do new and different things with classic works. I just think these particular new and different things suck ass.
