There is nothing to fear!

Thinking about how when Yagi is depicted as being vulnerable (namely in times of feeling useless or like a failure) he makes this face. Biggest pout and wobbly frown FUCK

Seasons, in general, still have yet to stop being something to be excited about, after well over a century spent in the weltering heat and unforgiving cold of the desert. So Vash takes advantage of them as they come, out and enjoying the gentler warmth of spring before the humidity of summer ( and what a concept! humidity! ) inevitably takes its place.

At least-- until he's smacked square in the face.

"Ack!"

Vash's nose scrunches as it takes the brunt of the impact, temporarily frozen. It's not the worst thing to have gone flying directly into his face, but that still doesn't stop the flinching. At least this time it's not his own 'wanted' poster as the culprit.

"It's fine, it's fine," Vash laughs after a moment. When he finally reaches up to peel it off his face he indeed is not met with his own black hair and grin staring back at him, but scrawling handwriting instead. A few of the words catch his eye, but they're none of his business; he's not trying to be nosy, for once, but it's a bit difficult to not read at least a portion of them when they've quite literally thrown themselves in front of your eyes.

The letter is written in japanese, but for who can read it the handwritten text appears flower-y, way too pretty for a man that has been throwing punches for over thirty years. Not like Toshinori appears like he's any of that, anyway. The words on the paper overflow with grief for a mother he's lost decades before the star plucked him out of his world and, for some reasons, he's feeling her absence even harder today. Might be the consequence of being alone with his feeling long enough to start addressing them.

Toshinori doesn't know if the lad has managed to read all that, but he can't help feeling his face burning with shame. He's quick to move over to him, grab the letter and crumple it in his coat's pocket with a barely uttered "thank you" and not a second thought.

"... 's that so?" he asks, latching onto the new topic to not think about the darn piece of paper. "Sounds like the wind itself likes to bring you stuff. Hope the other times it was something more interesting."

Toshinori simply nods with a smile, deciding to not correct the child about his whole name to not create embarrassment. They seemed tense last time they met and he doesn't want to ruin the mood.

"I don't mind the lack of variety, but I'm curious about the place and the people working there."

Chara smiles lightly.

As determined as he was, there was no way he could really watch over this whole city without all of his powers. 

There's a moment of awkward silence from Toshinori where he tries to remember if he's ever heard of a Superman from other countries before, but the name just doesn't ring any bell. The pride with which the other introduces himself still manages to make him smile softly; the lad somewhat reminds him of Star.

"Well, nice to meet you, Superman. You needn't worry about me-- I may look frail but I know how to take care of myself. Thank you for offering, though."

"Sure, weird things happen around this place," he muses, scratching his messy blond mane as he ponders out loud. "... but I've yet to hear about anyone actually getting hurt. I'm more confused about how things tend to get back to normal after a while."
