I feel like thereβs also a racialized element haunting the conversation around shaving that I havenβt yet seen anyone really address (at least on my dash, Iβm sure people ARE talking about it in general because I cannot possibly be the first person this thought has occurred to). thereβs like the very basic point that if you are someone who grows thicker, courser body hair then you will be more prone to painful ingrowns and shaving regularly will absolutely exacerbate this, it was a thing I dealt with for years when I was still shaving my body hair and having stopped doing that has been tremendously helpful for my bodily wellbeing. but also overall I do think racialized people (obviously especially racialized women) can be more heavily targeted by the pressure to shave. not even necessarily because of the claim that we are βnaturally hairierβ or whatever because thatβs really not universally true and I donβt think itβs super helpful to parrot that. but in my experience our body hair, largely regardless of its appearance or quantity, is frequently treated as more unsightly and less acceptable than that of our white peers for any number of reasons. and I do think that should be part of the conversation around abolishing a culture of shaving. it was something that impacted my life from a very young age in a way that was markedly different from and often actively enforced by my white friends and classmates.
one thing about ed--he's always gonna dream of marrying stede

Itβs important to me that Dukat is one of the ultimate failures of cardassian masculinity. He is NOT militarily competent, he is NOT charming, he is NOT a good liar, he is NOT loyal, he is Not actually ruthless, he is NOT a commanding father, he is NOT filial, he is NOT even good at his own agenda. He is the Andrew Tate of cardassian men. Emulates it without executing it or understanding it

"i know it LOOKS like it was made for children but its SECRETLY for us. calling it a kids show is an insult cause kids could never understand these THEMES and EMOTIONS. we're the TRUE fans." > i dont think i trust your opinions. you seem lame as fuck.

Ok, Have you in real life ever seen a bathroom that had its light switch Outside of the bathroom. Not like one of those fancy giant bathrooms where the toilet is in its own little room, but a normal sized bathroom where you could be in there doing your thing and someone Outside could just turn the light off on you?
This is so normal to me
Yeah but it's weird
Maybe? normal though.
Maybe? weird though.
No but I'm pro this being a thing
no and what the fuck why would that be a thing
Other
Button.
In Real life. not in a videogame or movie because I've Only seen it in videogames and a friend has spotted it in a movie.
What I'm learning is that this is 40% landlord special, 20% people not knowing how to relocate a switch during normal reno, and 40% a miraculous case of no one in charge of building shit in Germany having ever once had a sibling or any sibling like relationships with others.
Ok ok ok So the conclusion to this is that apparently wiring your bathrooms/kitchen so they are so incapable of shocking you that you could take a bath with a plugged in toaster and be 70-80% fine just isn't a thing in most of Europe. Ok. Old buildings blah blah blah habit blah blah.
The reason Germans specifically are putting the light switch somewhere in hell instead of the bathroom itself is because they have regulations to prevent this outdated wiring scheme/equipment killing someone. The rest of Europe is either with them, has more modern wiring standards, or is in the boat that if you get zapped it's your own damn fault. Which tbh is the option I respect the most because it's the funniest.
