not my circus not my monkeys but thanks to my mutuals i know some of the lore
Dr Glass had been idling in unmoving traffic for several minutes. The stream of traffic was unable to enter the roundabout, which was full of unyielding cars in an unbroken stream. Roadworks and other bewilderments had somehow combined to create a solid stream of traffic cutting off this entry to the roundabout, creating an immovable backlog. The phone map showed a solid red line creeping ever farther through the town as the queue of cars lengthened and froze up.
Dr Glass was only three cars back from the entry point. After pondering the problem in this unexpected pocket of leisure, he got out of the car.
The other drivers looked at him, astonished, censorious. Was this muppet just up and leaving his car? Abandoning a vehicle in congestion? Were they about to witness someone making their day WORSE?
Dr Glass walked to a pedestrian crossing, a few feet upstream, and pressed the button. He turned around and got back in his car.
Enlightenment, and a cautious hope, dawned on the faces of the other drivers in the queue.
The pedestrian sequence unrolled. The red light cut off the oncoming stream of traffic. The queue was freed. The roundabout was freed.
You don’t get “and then everybody clapped” in the British Isles, but you DO occasionally get a row of driver’s side thumbs-ups, and a large northern bloke hollering, “you CHEEKY bugger!” in approval.
*david attenborough voice* truly the most dangerous predator in the animal kingdom
The upside to the adhd forgetting that you made yourself a drink thing is thinking to yourself “man I could go for a drink right now” and looking to your right and seeing a drink has appeared there. Thank you, past me. I lost you somewhere but you have still provided.

Okay okay we all know Johnny cash did his cover of Hurt and we were all like “ok he owns that now” but I watched the music video he made and I’m like “oh he OWNS it owns it”
It’s totally wild to me because most people agree that Trent Reznor is a master of his craft and Hurt is considered one of NIN’s best songs. Imagine having this great hit and 8 years later a musical legend who hasn’t done anything great in a long time and is ostensibly dying takes your song and fucking. Just fucking obliterates you
Taken from the Wikipedia page. Even Trent Reznor said it's not his song anymore.
in case you hadn't seen
Holy hell that's video is…painful and stunning. If you grew up listening to Johnny Cash I think it'll hit even harder. And June Carter Cash is in the video, which takes hard and doubles it.
#i remember my friend vali saying#why is anyone trying to make songvids to this song?#the most emotionally gutting video has already been made#by johnny cash himself (@bossymarmalade)
I'm glad people who didn't know who are discovering it's a cover, not just because Trent Reznor deserves that much, but because I think the fact that Cash did not write it is crucial to the power of his version. This is a young man's song about suffering, about addiction and self-destruction in youth. And Cash is, in the most majestic possible way, taking that and going "oh kid, you have no idea", and changes the meaning without changing the lyrics (except for a single word). In his voice, on his face, in his aged hands on the guitar and piano, it becomes about the agonising brevity of life, the irretrievability of mistakes, and the inevitable loss of everything, including a recognisable self. But the creativity of repurposing only shows if you can still see what was originally there.
all that remains
Sometimes I just have a mighty need to see Zhao Yunlan being absolutely railed into oblivion by Hei Pao Shi in full regalia and I‘m not ashamed to admit it.
Wangxian - 16 years of longing
Merthur - 1000 years of longing (and counting)
Weilan (Guardian) - 10.000 years of longing
… I think I have a type.
Something dramatic for Weilan

Back the WILD AND FULL OF MARVELS Kickstarter!
The crowdfunding campaign for our next anthology, Wild and Full of Marvels: Queer Fanworks Inspired by Folklore and Fairy Tales, launched yesterday, and we’re already almost 50% funded and a Kickstarter “Project We Love”!
With Wild and Full of Marvels: Queer Fanworks Inspired by Folklore and Fairy Tales, our authors and artists bring our perspective as queer adults in the 21st century to the stories, some ancient, some modern, that meant the most to us when we were young. Each creator selected a folktale, fairy tale, myth, or legend that had personal significance for them, then reimagined these personal touch-stones as we wish they could be: stories that uphold our cultures, stories that impart the lessons and morals we wish to impart, stories that drive home the cautions we wish we’d received, stories in which people like us are the heroes held forth for emulation. We’ve transformed these stories to be more inclusive, more personal, more understanding of others, and—of course!—much more queer.
The book contains 23 stories, each up to 5,000 words long; 21 full-page artworks; a 4-page comic by Max Jason Peterson; and a 10-page comic by Jupiter V—a total of 46 queer fanworks inspired by stories from North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
In addition to the book, we’re offering awesome merch – two stickers, a bookmark, an art print, a slate coaster, an acrylic window hanging, an enamel pendant necklace, and a journal! There’s also a ton of add-ons you can choose from, from stories from our back catalog to Duck Prints Press merchandise and more.
Visit our campaign page TODAY to learn more about the anthology, our contributors, what we’re offering to backers, and our plans for getting this book into print with your help!
signal boosts very appreciated!
“I asked ChatGPT-” Yeah well I asked Lieutenant Commander Data Soong from engineering and he told me that while he could, in fact, do my physics homework, he fears that it may have a negative impact on my academic performance and that he would not proceed with this arrangement.

When u follow a seemingly harmless account that reblogs interesting stuff and suddenly they start reblogging neonazi shit and you are left to wonder if they were always like that and were just biding their time or what happened
Why does nobody tell women what an absolute bitch perimenopause can be? I feel like nobody told me anything about it, save for hot flashes. I also feel that doctors don't know enough about it as well. I basically had to diagnose myself.
Like, seriously, women should be educated about their own bodies.
So if you're on the other side of 45 and suddenly everything is twice as difficult, you get more migraines, your blood pressure goes funny, you can't sleep and you feel like your entire psyche is unstable, you might be experiencing perimenopause. My gyn was like,oh, like think of it like reverse puberty, your entire body rearranges itself. I was like, Great, nobody ever told me it can be this bad. My GP didn't even ask me about my period or hormone levels or anything. He just told me I was probably depressed and sent me to a psychiatrist, who also didn't ask about my period or my hormones. If I hadn't experienced something akin to postpartum depression and therefore know what my body does when its hormones are out of whack, I would have had no idea.
Seriously, nobody tells you how much hormones fuck you up as a woman. Nobody prepares you for this.
I've been trying to talk openly about what's fucking me up right now, and I've discovered that it's a lot more common than I thought it was. I feel like every phase of life finds another way to fuck women over. Puberty: have fun with your period as it adjusts itself. Childbirth: prepare for a hormonal rollercoaster. PMS: oh, it can get BAD. Like, BAD. After birth: hormones out of whack for months, maybe longer. Perimenopause: can fuck up everything. Like literally everything. Osteoporosis is also hormonal. Post menopause: supposedly things get better, but they don't have to.
And I feel like we're left pretty alone dealing with all of it. And we know so little about it that we're left wondering why suddenly nothing works anymore. So we flail about and feel terrible about our sudden inability to cope with life, when it's in fact our bodies screwing with us. Again.
So. Let's talk about it, let's be open to each other and learn from each other. Thank you especially to anyone who shared experiences with me. It helps to feel like you're not alone.
First symptoms can easily hit before 40. Just so you know. Also, there are issues that maybe 1 in 50 doctors even know about, so keep an eye out for literally anything that changes "for no reason".
