Scorbus goes to Malfoy Manner
The three of them apparated outside of the manor.Â
âBloody hell!â Remmy exclaimed, staring up at it.Â
Dad snorted. âPretty ridiculous,â he agreed. Scorpius had often tried to picture his father growing up here. It was hard to imagine. It was just soâŚlarge. Not that their house was small by any means, it was just normal.Â
They began walking up the steps to the front door.Â
Dad squeezed his eyes shut, mentally preparing, before knocking.Â
The large door opened to reveal grandma. Standing regal in her dress.Â
âDraco,â she said, âA son shouldnât have to knock at his family home.âÂ
Before dad could respond, Remmy went,Â
âOh sorry! Should I have dressed nicer? This prat told me I didnât have to dress nicer,â He was glaring daggers at Scorpius.Â
Grandma gave him a once over. âYou look identical to your grandfather,â was all she said, before sweeping away.Â
Scorpius and dad exchanged a look, before following.Â
âYeah I get that a lot,â Remmy said. âMy older brotherâs the one who's named after him though. You know, you look a bit like your sister. Just a bit.âÂ
âWhat?â Grandma asked, looking shocked.Â
âYeah, my GiGi Andy. Sheâs your sister, right?â he asked. Blimey, he really was fearless. Perhaps the hat should have made him Gryffindor. Â
âWhy do you consider Andromeda to be yourâŚâ she struggled for a moment. âYour âGiGi?ââ Scorpius could hear the air quotations his grandmother mentally placed around the word.Â
âSheâs Teddyâs grandma,â Remmy shrugged.Â
âLupinâs son,â dad supplied, when she wasnât getting it.Â
âAh,â understanding flashed.Â
âWho do you think Remmy is named for?â Scorpius snorted.Â
Grandmaâs brows furrowed.Â
âYour name is Remus?â she asked.Â
âHuh,â grandma replied, as they continued walking.Â
They made it to the expansive dining table, where food was already laid out.Â
âWhereâs dad?â Scorpius' own dad asked.Â
âOh,â grandma said, âIt turned out to be a bit much for him. Thatâs all dear.âÂ
Dad scoffed, plopping down in a seat.Â
âShouldâve worn a dress,â Remmy muttered, humor playing on his lips. Fuck, his lips. Scorpius suddenly remembered what had happened â- rather what didnât happen -â before they got here.Â
It was so odd, to see Remmy Potter in his grandfatherâs manor. With his muggle clothes and wild hair.Â
They ate quietly for a little.Â
âSo,â Remmy suddenly said, causing all three Malfoys to turn to him.Â
âMrs. Malfoy, lovely home.â He said this all very quickly, preliminary for what he really wanted to say. âTell me, what were your Hogwarts days like?âÂ
Grandma looked shocked. âQuite alright,â she replied.Â
âGood,â Remmy nodded, âYou seemed to have known my granddad. What was he like?âÂ
Grandma looked quite put out. Scorpius was fighting off a grin. Why hadnât he brought Remmy here years ago?Â
âI didnât know him well,â grandma explained, âAnd he was younger than me. We saw each other on the pitch of course.âÂ
âYou played Quidditch?â Remmy asked.Â
âMm,â grandma acknowledged, grabbing her wine goblet. âSeeker.âÂ
âWell,â grandma said, âHe was best friends with my cousin of course. I thought he was a little twat, to be quite honest.âÂ
Remmy just laughed. âWell if heâs anything like my brother, heâd have to been.âÂ
âJames is the nicest person Iâve ever met!â Scorpius objected.Â
Remmy shrugged. âStill a twat.â Scorpius saw a hint of a smile on his grandmaâs lips. He shook his head in wonder. How on earth had Remmy managed that?Â
