mystified

from one gifmaker to another, i know these feelings too well and i'm sick of it. i'm sick of this vicious cycle and i hate myself for keeping this vile cycle going. like why am i doing this to myself???

i see my gifs everywhere. posted to other platforms minutes after i've posted them to tumblr. i've watermarked my gifs over the years but i just don't like the way it looks. i hate it actually. i recently posted a bunch with a watermark purely out of frustration after seeing a whole tiktok "edit" that was nothing but my gifs cut to music. and i look at them now and i hate that watermark. i even thought about redoing them. they are going to get stolen and reposted anyway. no one is seeing my watermark on tiktok and twt and deciding they need to look at the source. no. they like it and keep scrolling. i feel like a majority of users don't care where the content came from. if the op made it themselves or "saved them from pinterest/tumblr" and made their own "edit" with content they stole from others. it doesn't really matter. as long as it is relevant to their interests. so why should i look at the gifs i make and hate the way they look because i can't stop others from taking them and reposting them?
