A lame, barely-used blog.

I like stories where girls can be rough, angry, and ferocious, yet they are still heroes with none of that “kindness is strength” bullshit, but I also like stories where guys are gentle, kind, and patient with none of that “manliness is strength” bullshit because we need to teach girls it’s okay to be angry, and that to boys that being nice is okay as well. Hence why I just love Final Fantasy XIII and Arslan Senki. Lightning didn’t achieve stuff by mainly being nice to people, she did it while being angry, capable, and a leader. Arslan achieved fame and trust of people because he was kinder, gentler, and more compassionate than most people. It’s a nice inversion of the trope.

1 in 5 teenagers have thought about suicide, about 1 in 6 teenagers have made plans for suicide, and more than 1 in 12 teenagers have attempted suicide in the last year. When it’s actually the opposite. European settlers were the savages. Native Americans had running irrigation systems! They had beautiful and intricate cities and homes and communities. They were clean, and respectful of the environment, and even used a form of breath sweeteners! But no. You won’t learn any of that in American history classes. You won’t learn about the complete and utter genocide of a nation of people who originally inhabited this land. Nope.

You’re right. The practices native Americans used to keep their homes and villages clean wasn’t advanced enough to fight off the diseases brought over by those nasty ass white settlers. Probably because they’d never been exposed to such a degree of filth and little regard for hygiene. That was a large reason many indigenous Americans died, disease.
