some of y’all are seriously incapable of understanding what playing as a team looks like. do i wish azzi got more touches? absolutely. i want the ball in her hands more too. but i also want dallas to win basketball games. we’ve got multiple players in double digits, the ball is moving, everyone is contributing, and azzi is still making a huge impact. she’s playing lockdown defense, making winning plays, and doing all the little things that help this team. not every contribution is measured by shot attempts. after the season the wings had last year, i’m celebrating every single win. and azzi is a huge part of why they’re winning. she absolutely deserves more touches offensively, but she’s still impacting the game in so many ways. both of those things can be true. i’m rooting for the wings first. i want this team to win, and i want azzi to succeed right along with them. that’s what playing as a team is all about.

i’m pretty sure azzi will still be at all-star for branding, so y’all might as well get the vacation delusions out of the way now 😭 i highly doubt she wouldn’t be there to support paige and jess. i mean, come on. just because she didn’t get selected doesn’t mean she’s gonna refuse to show up. i’m sure she’s disappointed, and she has every right to be, but she’s always been about supporting her teammates. i honestly wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up doing the 3-point contest either. let’s just let the vacation delusions die before all-star. some “fans” really act like they know what’s best for her when azzi has shown us time and time again the kind of teammate and person she is.

some ppl were so quick to talk shit about paige’s turnovers in the first half just for my girl to play the entire second half without another turnover or foul. paige is her biggest critic and she’s always self-aware of where she needs to be better to help her team win, and then she actually goes out there and does it. that’s one of the things i admire most about her game. she’s constantly learning, constantly adjusting, and never lets one bad half define the rest of her performance. that kind of maturity and accountability is such a big part of what makes her as great as she is.

as someone who’s been a fan of paige and azzi for years, i genuinely don’t understand why people move so weird when it comes to them. i don’t see this same level of obsession with other couples in the wnba, and i definitely don’t see people analyzing every little interaction the way they do with them. every post, every game, every look, every like gets turned into some kind of theory. it’s exhausting. queer women have been treated like this for a long time. people either act like they’re entitled to every detail of their relationship or they spend their time trying to prove the relationship isn’t real. it feels like they’re constantly being watched in a way that so many other couples aren’t. some of y’all really don’t understand what a private relationship is. being private doesn’t mean there’s drama or that people broke up. it just means they choose to keep that part of their lives to themselves, and honestly i respect them even more for that. they honestly remind me so much of tom holland and zendaya. pretty much everyone knows they’re together, but they don’t feel the need to post every second of their relationship to satisfy strangers on the internet. people respect their privacy, and paige and azzi deserve that same respect. i became a fan because of who they are as basketball players and the people they’ve shown themselves to be over the years. they’re in the wnba to hoop, not to give relationship updates every week. if they choose to share something, that’s awesome. if they don’t, that’s their choice. they’re two people who deserve the same privacy and respect as anyone else. being a fan doesn’t mean we’re entitled to every part of their personal lives. sometimes the best way to support your favorite players is to simply let them live.
