Shoutaâs just been hired to be the princeâs royal guard (no one really talks about the last one, but, from what heâd heard from staff when heâd asked around was that the poor bloke couldnât handle the stress the beloved prince, Izuku, put him through. No one believes that though because Prince Izuku has the face of an angel and would surely do no wrong). His first meeting with the prince, however, was not at all smooth, nor, was he introduced to the supposedly sweet angel. You see, he was taking a stroll through the palace gardens to get a feel for the place. Pausing when he hears a rustle. He looks up and his eyes widen because someone has just fallen out of a tree and into his arms, he checks his grip is secure and is about to ask if theyâre okay when he realises exactly who heâs holding. The bundle in his arms is the prince, thereâs no doubt about it. The crown sitting sideways on his head is a dead giveaway.
Izukuâs been hired to be the media marketer for a famous hockey team, and each player on the team always offers him a hand to get across the ice to film videos of them practicing, messing about, dancing to popular songs, or doing their own version of popular trends on social media.
The first person to offer him help heâs noticed is Shouta Aizawa, who plays defence. Shouta always makes sure heâs got a tight and secure grip on his arm as he leads them back to the gate, or to wherever he needs to be on the ice. Shouta will also wrap an arm round his waist just in case something happens, for example, them falling accidentally. Shouta doesnât want Izuku to get hurt, so, heâs prepared to cushion his fall (it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that heâs got a crush on the man and thinks is unattainable, so, he settles for brief contact they share.). Izuku doesnât say anything about it, however, is confused because Shoutaâs so steady on the ice, and has never seen him fall and figures itâs highly unlikely for them to fall because heâs also seen the size of Shoutaâs biceps and theyâre nothing to laugh at so he knows he can take his weight in case he ever slips. He tries not to think about how much he likes feeling that strong arm round his waist or dwell on how much he enjoys being close to Shouta because thatâd be highly inappropriate.
The Todoroki household was quiet at this hour, the kind of stillness that only settled over a home when everyone was deep in sleep. The hallways were dark, save for the dim glow of the kitchen lightâa glow that should not have been there.
Enji TodorokiâPro Hero Endeavor, number one in Japan, a symbol of strength and disciplineâwas a man who prided himself on vigilance. He was the kind of person who woke up at the slightest unfamiliar sound, always alert, always ready for a fight.
So when he woke to the distant sound of clinking dishes in his kitchen, his first instinct was intruder.
His second instinct was absolute fury, because what kind of fool would break into his home?
His third instinct, upon stepping into the kitchen and beholding the sight before him, was sheer, incomprehensible disbelief.
Sitting at his kitchen table, completely at ease, were two fully grown professional heroesâIzuku Midoriya, a.k.a. Pro Hero Deku, and Shouta Aizawa, a.k.a. Pro Hero Eraserhead.
They were eating cup noodles.
Not just any cup noodlesâhis cup noodles.
The expensive, imported, limited-edition, very hard to find premium noodles he kept stocked for himself.
Endeavor felt a vein in his forehead pulse dangerously.
Izuku looked up first, mid-slurp, his cheeks slightly puffed with noodles, like a guilty child caught sneaking snacks before dinner. His wide, green eyes flickered between Endeavor and his food, clearly calculating whether or not it was worth continuing to eat. Shouta, on the other hand, didnât even flinch. He merely picked up his chopsticks, twirled them lazily between his fingers, and took another bite of his noodles, utterly unbothered by the outrageous situation.
Endeavor stood there, fists clenched, waiting for some kind of logical explanation.
None came.
ââŚWhat the hell are you two doing?â His voice was gruff with sleep, but the edge of barely contained irritation was unmistakable.
Izuku swallowed hastily and offered him a sheepish grin. âUh. Eating?â
Endeavor narrowed his eyes. âIn my house?â
Izuku blinked as if that was a strange thing to ask. âYeah?â
Endeavorâs gaze slid to Aizawa, hoping for something, anything resembling common sense. He should have known better.
Shouta merely leaned back slightly in his chair, exuding the aura of a man who had no regrets whatsoever. âYou had good ramen.â
âThat is not an explanation.â
âI mean, it kind of is,â Izuku chimed in, shifting slightly in his seat.
Endeavor took a deep, steadying breath through his nose. âHow did you even get in?â
Shouta finally looked at him, his tired eyes half-lidded, before slurping another bite of noodles. âWouldnât you like to know.â
Endeavor would like to know. He needed to know. Because somehow, in the dead of night, these two menaces had infiltrated his very secure home without triggering a single alarm.
âYouâre telling me,â he ground out, forcing every ounce of restraint he had into his voice, âthat two fully grown Pro Heroesâwho each have their own homesâbroke into my house at three in the morning just to steal my goddamn noodles?â
Izuku shifted uncomfortably. âWell. Not broke in, exactlyââ
âYou donât live here,â Endeavor snapped.
Shouta made a lazy gesture with his chopsticks. âIt was easier than going to the store.â
There were so many things wrong with that statement that Endeavor didnât even know where to start.
Instead, he just stared at them, his mind caught between unfiltered rage and complete and utter exhaustion. These were two of the most dangerous, competent Pro Heroes in JapanâDeku, the Symbol of Hope, and Eraserhead, one of the most feared underground heroes.
And yet.
And yet.
This was how they chose to use their skills? Breaking and entering for fucking noodles?
Endeavor was tired.
He was so very tired.
ââŚIâm going back to bed,â he muttered at last, his voice devoid of energy.
Izuku blinked. âWait, youâre justâ?â
âI donât care anymore,â Endeavor grumbled, already turning on his heel and stomping toward the hallway. âDo whatever the hell you want.â
As soon as he was gone, Izuku turned to Shouta, eyes wide with astonishment. âSee? I told you itâd be fine.â
Shouta hummed, unimpressed, still stirring his noodles. âWe should take some extra for later before he changes his mind.â
Izuku grinned, already reaching for another cup. âAlready on it.â

Izuku canât even look at Shouta, the shakiness in his voice betrays how scared he is, although, his body language gives nothing away. Itâs only because Shouta knows him so well, and can read him like the back of his hand that he can tell when Izukuâs pretending like everythingâs fine when itâs not, something could be going horribly wrong, but, heâll never admit it to it.
âI mean it.â He grabs Izukuâs hands, looking painfully earnest as he says, âIâm always sincere with you. I swear with all my heart.â He waits for Izuku eyes to meet his and canât help but smile, feeling it grow wider when he sees a wobbly smile grow on Izukuâs face.
Raising a dragon hatchling was nothing like anything Izuku had experienced before.
It was chaotic.
It was exhausting.
It was also the most beautiful thing in the world.
Every single moment of their childâs life was filled with something newânew discoveries, new trouble, and new reasons for Shouta to stress himself into an early grave.
And Izuku?
Well.
He had never loved anything more.
{
âShouta, I think theyâre eating a rock.â
âWhat?!â
Shouta immediately turned from where he had been cleaning his claws, his golden eyes locking onto their hatchlingâwho, indeed, was chewing on a large rock.
Izuku blinked. âOh, never mind. They spat it out.â
Shouta groaned, dragging a hand down his face. âTheyâre going to kill me.â
Izuku grinned, watching as their child, completely unbothered, pounced on a butterfly. âYouâre the one who said you wanted to be a parent.â
Shouta sighed. âI didnât realize parenting involved stopping them from eating the environment.â
Izuku chuckled, shaking his head. âTheyâll be fine.â
Shouta gave him a look. âYou say that now, but in ten minutes, theyâre going to find something else to put in their mouth.â
Izuku glanced back at their childâwho was now trying to swallow a fistful of dirt.
He sighed. ââŚOkay, maybe you have a point.â
Shouta groaned again.
{
Their hatchling had been growing fast.
Too fast.
Their little wings had strengthened, their legs becoming steadier, their teeth sharper.
And one day, after weeks of watching their parents hunt, they decidedâ
âI wanna hunt too!â
Izuku immediately beamed. âThatâs great! You canââ
âAbsolutely not,â Shouta interrupted, crossing his arms. âToo dangerous.â
Izuku rolled his eyes. âShouta, they need to learn eventually.â
âNot yet.â
âTheyâre literally a dragon.â
âThey are a baby dragon.â
Their child huffed, puffing up indignantly. âIâm not a baby!â
Shouta gave them a look. âYou still trip over your own tail.â
Their hatchling growled, flaring their tiny wings. âThat was one time.â
âIt was yesterday.â
Izuku smothered a laugh, nudging Shouta. âCâmon, we can go with them. We wonât let them get hurt.â
Shouta exhaled through his nose, clearly unhappy but outnumbered.
âFine.â
Their child immediately let out an excited chirp, bouncing in place. âIâm gonna catch the biggest prey!â
Izuku grinned, ruffling their hair. âI believe in you.â
Shouta sighed. âThis is going to be a disaster.â
It was.
Their hatchling tried their best, really.
But their idea of âhuntingâ was jumping onto a deerâs back and clinging to it while it ran in circles, screaming.
Izuku wheeze-laughed.
Shouta sighed so hard it could have knocked down a tree.
âGet them off,â he grumbled.
Izuku, still laughing, gently swooped in and plucked their hatchling off the deer, who immediately bolted into the trees.
Their child pouted. âI almost had it!â
âSure you did, love,â Izuku chuckled, pressing a kiss to their forehead. âMaybe next time.â
Shouta just shook his head, already regretting his life choices.
{
As time passed, something changed in Izuku.
He had been terribly protective in the beginningâterritorial, restless, guarding their child and Shouta like a dragon hoarding treasure.
But after weeks of adjusting, his protectiveness became something else.
Something feral.
Something their child inherited.
It started with small thingsâIzuku casually baring his teeth at a bird that got too close, flaring his wings at a passing fox, snarling when Shouta tried to move their nest around.
And their hatchling?
They copied everything.
One day, Shouta walked into the den and found them both crouched over their food, growling at nothing, tails lashing.
Consider Izuku kissing Shoutaâs face every morning because he loves seeing Shouta lean into the affection and wake up with the cutest scrunched up look on his face with a half smile/smirk that Izuku will give kisses to until thereâs a full blown smile in sight. EXCEPT. Shoutaâs hair has grown so long it covers his face when heâs sleeping, and because thereâs thickets of it, Izuku is unable to find Shoutaâs face sometimes, and canât wake him up with kisses. He doesnât think Shouta notices until the man confronts him about it, pouting because he thinks Izuku doesnât love him anymore.
âIf I had to go, I'd like to go out just as beautifully.â
There are fireworks going on in the background, Shouta can barely focus on them. Heâs too focused on looking at Izukuâs face. Thereâs a peculiar expression that Shouta canât decipher, but it almost seemed as if Izuku looked to be at peace when talking about potentially dying. Which has Shouta despairing because he knows that if he ever lost Izuku itâd destroy him. So he says the first thing that comes to mind.
âIâd really prefer if you didnât go at all.â

Shouta heaves a tired sigh when he rolls over in bed expecting to cuddle into a warm body and feeling the space empty. He grumpily gets out of bed, muttering under his breath how itâs not the same when Izukuâs with him and that his boyfriend better not be on his laptop working or there would be consequences. He spots light coming from the living room and frowns as soon as he turns the corner. Izukuâs slouching on a chair with the laptop in front of him, he looks utterly exhausted. Shouta walks over and before Izuku looks up, he gently closes the laptop making sure Izukuâs fingers donât get caught and takes it off of him to place on the table in front of him.
âCâmon. Time for bed.â
âBut I still have to-â
âNope.â
âBut-â
âNo. Youâve got 3 seconds before I throw you over my shoulder.â Izuku knows deep down Shoutaâs a man of his word and when he says heâll do something, nothing gets in his ways, but, wants to test it just a little.
âYou wouldnât.â
âTry me.â
Both their eyes are narrowed at each other, Izuku makes no move to get up and Shouta doesnât bother to count out loud, nor does he hesitate to grab Izuku and fling him over his shoulder ignoring the shriek, he holds his thighs down to ensure heâs holding him securely and takes a giggling Izuku to bed.
Yâknow the lyric: âIâve got my mind on youâ from the song âSay Yes To Heavenâ by Lana Del Rey? Imagine Shouta thinking of Izuku as the prettiest and loveliest person heâs ever laid his eyes on while Izukuâs doing the simplest of tasks, and if he was asked what perfection was heâd point and say itâd be Izuku.
