the avatar movies are crazy bc "what if colonizers literally inhabited and puppeteered the bodies of indigenous peoples in order to exploit their homeland" sounds like the premise of some sort of anticolonial horror film, like specifically the kind of thing that would be commenting on self-indigenization among white settlers, but because it's James Cameron his whole takeaway from that premise is "it would be preddy cool"

Not to yuck anyone’s yum but I am Not excited by the Knightfall movie promo. Especially the fact we’ve seen Jean Paul in a confessional. Ignoring the “evil demon” interview slop for a minute… let’s discuss this direction for knightfall.

Knightfall Had A religious narrative. Straight up. It is one of the more uniquely religious parts of Jean Paul Valley during post-crisis… however, he was never wet eyed in a confessional. At all. They’ve clearly been inspired by modern Jean Paul characterization which is Really Frustrating. The actual tragedy of JPV’s story and the decline of his mental health doesn’t work when you mess with it. Including modern aspects of his character that Haven’t Happened yet, such as this religious edition to his character effects the story. This is the same as them applying the post-knightfall dynamic to pre-knightfall Jpv and Bruce discussion. Which they did for some reason….

I also just 😭😭 find this version of jpv really boring and I’m not ready for more catholic-valley slop. Free me. Free me.

I Can No Longer Live With My Mother

we have to understand that lonnie machin fashion sense wise is not alternative. her civilian outfits are like, a button up, watch, and jeans. maybe sometimes a graphic tee or cutoff. she’s more subdued with it if anything and i think that’s more fitting for her character
