Sheldon met Amy 16 years ago 💜

Can you believe it's been 16 years since Sheldon and Amy (Shamy) first met? I wanted to celebrate this iconic The Big Bang Theory moment with a special fan animation of how it all began. 💜

16 years ago this May, Raj and Howard set Sheldon up with a girl named Amy, and the rest is history. *sob* The Lunar Excitation aired back then, when everything changed. Raj and Howard had no idea what they started. *happy tears*

This is my (very) late entry for the Fluff Crawlspace celebration we did in May. (Very late, I know!) 

Wow, I hadn’t thought of that actually.

I think… in that scene, when Amy told him that she hadn’t slept with any of the guys she had been dating, did you see Sheldon’s face? Actually, I’m gonna gif it ‘cause it’s very important:

He looks surprised, sure, but he’s just realized something. Their break up wasn’t about sex. At least not entirely. She didn’t break up with him ‘cause she was dying to be intimate with someone, it was much more than that. She realized she couldn’t be happy with him because of a number of other factors besides sex.I think that’s also when he realized that he had been wrong to think that Amy was only doing this to hurt him, and this was actually about HER trying to be happy. 

Plus, the fact that they were spending Thanksgiving together, with Amy suggesting that they go together to the aquarium in the first place cause HE wanted to go. She did that to make HIM happy, and the same with the bag of cheerios she had in the car. Again, look at him there:

And even more so at finding out she mixed them for him:

She truly does want him to be happy, and he knows it in that moment more than ever.

Something else that you didn’t ask me about, but I absolutely loved about this episode: It was like old school Shamy again, hanging out, playing games, admiring each other…

Enjoying each other’s company…

And most importantly, it was a reminder of why this couple DOES work and of course, the unbelievable chemistry between Jim and Mayim that never ever fails to astonish me.

Oh, and he’s so NOT over her.

Imagine being Sheldon and you're blackmailed by your friends into meeting this girl at a coffee shop who is suppose to be your perfect match and it turns out your friends are right and she's amazing and you fall for her so quickly and so unexpectedly that it takes you ages to even realize that's what happened and then because you thought you were above romance and never believed this could happen to you you try to resist it but you also don't want to lose her so you start to slowly integrate her into your life in a romantic capacity but you also have a lot of issues with germs and physical touch and the thought of getting that close to her makes you panic so you slowly work on that stuff too but you know she wants more from you and deep down it really bothers you that you can't give this to her when it seems to be so easy for everyone else and you hope she will keep being patient with you but one day her patience runs out and she breaks up with you and you're distraught and assume she will go on to find someone else who can give her everything you couldn't but then by some miracle she doesn't and she comes back to you and now you know the full depth of your feelings for her and physical intimacy doesn't seem so scary anymore in the face of losing her so you give yourself to her completely and it's so so great and she's so so happy and a years-long burden is finally lifted from you so when you go to bed after all this you don't even get into your usual stiff dracula-in-his-coffin position you just lie down and drift off.
