Jax x Reader || A New Yearâs Gift.

Synopsis: Fireworks just hurt your ears and the cold deeply bothers you, so you had to find a space to avoid it. ButtttâŚthereâs a special place for those 2 problems, from a âspecial someoneâ.
It was a peaceful day after a long adventure. A very, very long adventure. Everyone was quite tired, so they all decided to walk to their rooms. You and Jax however stayed in the living room, as both of you never cared about sleep, only taking naps to kill time.
As you and Jax chilled, Caine occasionally floated around, looking through someâŚ.photos. He suddenly had an idea for the next adventure. He immediately teleported to both of you, which normally scared you.
âA NEW YEAR IS COMING! I DONâT KNOW WHICH YEAR BUT LETâS CELEBRATE!!!â He screamed and teleported everyone else in the room with a snap of his fingers. Before you could even protest, all of you guys were outside the tent, with a 2 minute timer displayed by stars in the sky. It was pretty. But you never told anyone how you hated fireworks, well, you were more âscaredâ of them from the noise and brightness.
Jax laid next to you on the soft grass, as he looked up in the sky. He had his signature asshole smile, but it did lighten up a bad day at times. âExcited for the fireworks?â He asked as he closed his eyes. You were about to respond no, but he couldnât know about your fear. He could tease you, and then everyone would know. You had to lie,
â..yeah, I guess.â You mumbled, but said it loud enough for Jax to hear. âHeh, you donât sound so sure about that. You scared of them?â He teased lightly, wanting a reaction out of you. You immediately got up and gasped at him, flustered, just the reaction he wanted.
âI am NOT! I like fireworks!â âSure thing, doll. Yâknow, if youâre a scaredy cat, you could always admit it before I find out for myself.â He said in a sing-song tone as he laughed at your tomato state. It was cute to him on how easy it was to get a reaction out of you.
Jax stood up and walked away from you, closer to everyone else as they slowly counted down. He was too caught up in the moment, so nobody noticed the slow and painful stress building up inside of you. The counting down just brought you closer to tears.
Their chanting got louder. And finally, the fireworks. It exploded in the air as everyone screamed in shock and happiness. You quickly backed away and ran behind the tent (the entrance was closed), covering your ears, hyperventilating, tears welling up in your eyes. No matter how hard you tried to stop them from falling, they still flowed.
The fireworks went on for many minutes with many patterns of everyoneâs faces, which was a nice detail. As soon as your face showed on the pattern, Jax turned around to where you were supposed to be. âHey, look! Itâs your face!â He said, but his voice slowly faded as you werenât there. Strange.
Jax looked around in confusion, wondering where the hell you went. He searched around, bamboozled. â..Where the hell are they?â He muttered as he walked almost everywhere, heck, even the carnival and lake. And he got his idea,
Jax sprinted to the back, hoping to find you there. And he saw your poor, trembling state. He immediately bent down to your level, with a soft look, putting his hand on your shoulder. âHey, whatâs up with you?â He asked, concerned but confused.
ââŚI donât like the noise..I hate itâŚ.â â..I knew I would find out eventually.. sigh Why didnât you tell me earlier that you were just scared of fireworks?â Jax questioned. âI thought youâd tease me about it. AndâŚyouâd tell everyone.â You quietly said with a hoarse voice. The fireworks got louder and shot out everywhere, which made you whimper in distress and you tried covering your ears further (if possible).
Jax pulled you in for an awkward hug, but it was for your comfort. He gently patted your back as you nuzzled in his shoulder. âIâm right here for ya, itâs ok.â His reassuring voice alone just made you a tad bit happier. Slowly, he put his hand on your shoulder and wiped a stray tear falling down your face.
âLook. If you want a special place to protect yourself from the âbig scary fireworksâ, just ask next time. I donât mind at all.â â..ok. I guess so.â You whispered, as your mood was slightly lifted. â..now. Close your eyes for me, and let me do the rest for you.â Jax implored, as you closed your eyes.
He opened his mouth and slowly pushed you further inside. It took a minute before you finally got comfortable to curl up in his warm stomach. You was safe from the cold. Safe from your fears.
