There are so many things wrong with will buyers coming out speech, But something I've not seen mention is the sheer audacity that they wrote in how he's just like the others because they all love NASA.
When the The most recent thing that NASA had done, at that point, was traumatize traumatize the American people who watched he Challenger explosion happen live on air.

So these are the cast images from Tudum 23 (which I found here) and Finn is literally dressed all in Vecna colours, which really stands out and is almost jarring in comparison to the rest of the cast's colour palette, (also his shirt has a heart on it- metagate and him representing Mike 'the heart' Wheeler perhaps?)
Mike walking Will home after a date (during the summer of 89) and then it starts raining and Will's like "get on my back" and now he's carrying Mike to get to a spot that covers them from the rain. Mike keeps wiggling his feet in the air and kissing the back of Will's neck where the hair has started sticking to it from the rain, Will's giggling and tells him to stop, to let him focus. And once they are safe from the water at Will's front door, they look at eachother, completely wet from the rain and hair all messed up, and they start laughing together. Now it's Will's turn to kiss Mike's face, he loves how his curls stick to his cheeks.
Now when they think about the rain, they think about this.

something about the way max and mikes jackets look similar not just to each other but also to the outfit max was wearing in s4 when she was originally brought into vecnas mind in ep4 (which is especially noticable in the new leak (about nikkis fucking birthday??? birthdaygate my beloved?) where the bottom/most similar parts of the jackets are shown in frame together for a decent amount of time and take up a decent portion of the screen- like they want us to notice)
like with max maybe they wanted to call back to an iconic outfit, but to then make mike dress similarly? yeah this show isnt real and mike is in camazotz, all doubt erased
maybe im delusional, but im already sticking on the bus til july so whats more fuel for the forest fire atp
guys can someone with more dice knowledge than me see if the dice on the latest strangerthings.things instagram post is accurate or if theyre playing with the dice numbers again 😭

I agree with all the criticism of the Duffers, but at the same time I literally think they wrote season 5 as if the villain was writing it, so I'm like yes it's very very very bad but there must be more to it, like there must be an explanation for why it's this much bad in this particular way (because of all the hints we found that are pointing to that, not because I have faith in them being decent ppl!!!!) so I'm like reading the posts but I can't not feel like yes it's this much insane because it was meant to make us think "what the actual fuck is going on!?" and I can't rb them without wanting to add... isn't it weird that this doesn't make sense and doesn't line up to all the previous seasons either in an extreme way? Isn't it suspicious.....
One of my biggest frustrations and reasons I can't accept the ending is that AIDS looms so heavily over Stranger Things, and yet there's been no payoff.
In fact, it makes the epilogue bar scene with Will very disquieting to me, since it's almost implied that's exactly where he's headed.
More under the cut, since it will get lengthy:
AIDS was exploding in the late 80's and early 90's, with horrifying rates of gay men getting sick and dying.
Seriously, follow The AIDS Memorial or some of the gay 80's remembrance pages on Facebook (where the surviving elders hang out) and read their stories of the sheer number of friends, lovers, and casual acquaintances they lost in such a short period of time. That's one thing they all have in common- they lost so many people.
They'll post a happy photo of themselves and eight other friends in better days, and they'll reveal that all but one of them were dead by the early 90's.
These men have repeated that while it was just luck of the draw sometimes, there were some risk factors that increased your odds of getting the virus back then. One of them was moving to the big city from a small town.
I've seen that take expressed time and time again, that the men with deep internalized homophobia who escaped their hostile hometowns for the big-city gay nightlife often engaged in riskier sex and and took fewer precautions, whether due to naivety, trying to make up for lost time, or even due to self-loathing and lack of regard for their own safety.
I'm not saying that Will being shown in a gay bar means that he would for sure get AIDS, because not all gay men did, not even the gay men who had casual sex.
Also, gay penetrative sex wasn't the only way to get AIDS. Sharing needles, blood transfusions, and heterosexual penetrative sex all could spread the disease, but for a long time most people associated it with the queer community and specifically gay men, since their community was hit hardest at first.
But it is unnerving to me that this HUGE part of 1980's history, this ONE cultural watershed moment they didn't mention in the show, still lies in wait by the time we see Will at the bar.
Because it's unaddressed, it means he hasn't been shielded from it.
From the finale we got, we don't know if Will ever finds lasting love or lives a long and happy life. All the storyteller gives us is that Will will find "acceptance."
And because they chose to put him, a newly-minted young gay man with no experience or support network, in the bar, in possibly the center of a major outbreak, with no narrative shield other than finding acceptance, there's no guarantee that he would be spared.
I guess this lines up well with conformitygate, since it's a fake happy ending for all of them. False comfort lulling you into thinking they all made it and Will gets the life he deserves, when it's very possible the narrative is sending Will to his doom.
I'd feel more confident about Will's ending not being unsettling if the specter of AIDS had been addressed somehow, like perhaps if Will was attending an ACT UP protest with his partner/friends in the epilogue or doing some political artwork, something to show that he was knowledgeable of the threat and possibly staying safe in some way.
Then I'd think, okay, even if Byler isn't endgame, at least they're being honest about the times and creating a realistic pathway for Will to have a fulfilling life as a gay young man in the 90's.
But the fact that they weren't honest about the reality says to me that it's being omitted on purpose.
Now, it could be that this is because Mike is telling the story and he is not aware of the danger the future holds for someone like Will, but I'm doubtful. Mike follows the news and even small towns knew about the disease by 1989. Yet he still tells a story about Will that seems worryingly unfinished.
This is the part where people rush to tell me that the Duffers are straight white men and stupid idiots who would never even consider the danger of AIDS or care, and that's the only reason why it's not mentioned in the whole series.
And here's the part where I say ACKTUALLY that theory doesn't hold water. As @thatgirlalt found in their investigation, the Duffers' own father was involved in AIDS research. There's literally no way they were unaware.
Vines spreading across Hawkins like a virus. Jason even referring to the evil like it was a disease infecting the town.
Not only that, but as I said, AIDS looms heavily over the show.
Will returning altered and experiencing strange symptoms after his assault. The doctors can't figure out what's wrong with him. Will being ostracized by his classmates and getting called Zombie Boy, when AIDS sufferers were said to look like the walking dead.
The blood transfusions with the pregnant women dying. Terry Ives giving the condition to El by being pregnant while given Henry's blood. Hopper unknowingly giving a health condition to his unborn child.
Everything to do with the lab and the government, the real life conspiracies that the government was really behind the epidemic.
The religious overtones and constant homophobia of the townspeople. Alexei dying in the middle of a patriotic festival and no one noticing, like the gay men whose deaths went unnoticed by America until it was in their doorstep, like the Upside Down seeping into Hawkins.
It goes on and on. Others have said it better than I have, but even though AIDS is not mentioned directly, it's there in the subtext.
So what was it all for? In real life, the greater public had to realize the threat and take it seriously before the virus could begin to be contained. You couldn't just ignore it forever or slap a band-aid over it like the miitary did with the cracks in Hawkins. Soon it was affecting straight people. Children. Everyone had to face up to the uncomfortable truth and end the willful ignorance and secrecy that was endangering lives.
Getting back to the show- if queer love didn't save the day in the end, the townspeople never had to confront their biases to defeat the evil, and we don't even know if our abused gay protagonist is going to survive or not in the future, what message are they sending?
No, I don't believe that the Duffers, with the family background they have, would leave the threat so unchallenged.
The fact that they haven't mentioned AIDS at all in interviews is very suspicious to me. If they were doing some sort of commentary on the epidemic, how could they resist talking about it? If they included the subtext just as an 80's reference and it had no bearing on the greater story, they could've brought it up already.
But if it is important to the show's message, there has to be a reason why they haven't addressed it. And I'm betting that reason is that the story isn't finished.
something something about an announcement or trailer coming out on will's birthday (march 22nd) because that's the date everyone's been forgetting and where everything started
although i oftentimes don't want to admit it, i fear i'm still on the bus clinging to every spark of hope because i cannot comprehend or accept this bad of an ending 😭

Hot take: milkvan kiss in 3x01 is a corrupted byler kiss
And before you say that I’m out of my gd mind, check this 👇
1. The unicorn
So I’ve been examining El’s things looking for cg details, and one of the first thing I see is a horse? Even a unicorn, which is horsegate, right? (Next to it there’s El’s dictionary, which is fair, and also some cassettes that mb should be studied more.)
But what can it symbolise you might wanna ask! And I want to thank you for this question because this unicorn is literally the first and big detail that we see right away, having such a meaning:
(Which emphasises that in the 80s it would definitely make sense to have it in the shot as a symbol.) Okay, cool 🥲 Let’s move on.
2. Mike’s photo from Halloween
having no connection to El whatsoever, but guess to whom Halloween might have a connection (something something crazy together). Why would El have exactly this photo on her table? Is it the only photo Mike has which he could give her? But guess who would have it logically if they dated ever since? Hmm.
3. The silver cat! Not sure if it feeds but it’s definitely there. The silver cat that feeds when blue meets yellow in the west. If it is originally a byler scene, would it mean the blue met yellow, and having a silver cat then would make sense? And guess what else is there: 1) another horse? 2) a heart with a rainbow 3) DRAWINGS
(Also a small details is that two last names on the shot are Russian, and even Michael Park could be Russian. Not sure if it’s important, but take it anyway as a 3s Russian-plot detail)
4. Now the most intriguing part
Firstly I noticed a mask that El probably took from Kali, which is an interesting detail itself, however what is even more interesting is semi-transparent editing of THE DRAWING OF PALADIN. We never focus on that, it’s never actually in the shot, but it is. It is hanging on the wall but it was shot playing with our attention. (Check the left side of the shots.)
Now tell me pls. Why THE FUCK would Mike gift her a drawing of Paladin? Or do you want to tell me that El is a person who actually draws? And she drew Paladin and left it on her wall? That she knows who that is?
Guys, honestly, unfortunately, I don’t know shit about D&D world, and only the sword gave it to me in this shot. But do you actually want to tell me that there’s another explanation why this drawing even exists in that room?!
4. The picture from Mike’s basement.
Could be a nice detail for milkvans, like, oh, look, he gave it to her!
But… do you really think Mike’s parents would give away a giant picture to… where exactly? To the girl about whom they don’t even know? That Mike would take it out of his basement? The most weird gift for 14 year olds. If Mike really wanted to do something nice to or for El, he could do anything but this, to be honest. It just doesn’t make sense. And I’ll tell you in the end of the post what does…
5. THE CLOTHES COLOURS 💛💙
Mind you, it is the same season where Mike and Will are associated with blue and yellow strongly! And watching this scene today, I got puzzled again, like, why El is even in that blue t-shirt?
And pay attention to the green wall of the room:)
When I rewatched this scene now a couple of times, trying to see every detail and REALISED THAT PALADIN WAS FUCKING THERE I had such a revelation OMG.
It’s not El. Never was!!!
And the blue t-shirt is Will’s t-shirt!!
Now, drawings on the table are of course Will’s drawings. The silver cat, the yellow and blue t-shirts, the fucking GREEN wall — all of it symbolising byler! And that damn picture hanging, again, initially in the basement… All the drawings on the wall — what does it remind you of??? Maybe Will’s drawings in the basement?
Doesn’t it give Will and Mike kissing there, Mike having Will’s drawing of him as Paladin, and the heart with a rainbow, like the one being there since season 1, is still there and never was taken out like the big picture never did?
I mean, technically, it’s another heart pic, but the concept is the same, and why wouldn’t it be corrupted this way too?
now if you have a question how it is possible: my nowadays theory is that ST got corrupted between s2 and s3 (same place where Tales will take part), changed the vibe in s3 and ever since have been getting flayed more and more; s2 ends with the Snowball leading to Hawkins being turned upside down, and the only thing that it was associated before was that the UD is still there, which was not the news. However, for some reason they showed us that turning. For showing evil they didn’t need to turn anything in the end of s1. And, as a hint, in 3x01 we even have Will’s clothing matching s5 dial’s arrow.
So, I believe, all these details from 3x01 tell that it was a basement byler kiss in the basement. Looks like it indeed was a double date with lumax in the cinema. And probably even Snowball happened the other way.
That would also explain side-lining Will in season 3 because he was lwk performed by El that season…
So am I right about all this? Fuck knows. But how can it have all this and mean nothing??? You don’t know? Me neither. Now, if you would excuse me, I need to go out and scream my head off. Have a good byler, y’all! We deserve it like no one else
