I haven't really been here for the last two days because the tag hasn't felt as pleasant as it usually does.
Normally, it's always fun here with new theories, clues, puzzles, predictions, POVs, and all kinds of discussions. Lately, though, it feels a little more negative... don't you think?
Don't get me wrong, I love seeing more people here. It's just that I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the negativity from people who don't completely believe in the theory but still jump into the tag just to poke fun at it.
I know I don't have to explain my/our beliefs to anyone, but I'd like to add a few things.
1. We Don't All Believe the Same Outcome
Most of us don't believe that one mystery episode is going to suddenly change everything. Many of us believe there are more episodes coming in some form. Maybe it's Season 5 Side B and three movies, maybe Season 6 and three movies, maybe only movies. Everyone has different beliefs and different reasons for believing them.
2. We Have Different Theories
We also have different theories about what happened in Hawkins, what happened in Season 5, and what might happen in future episodes. I'm clarifying this because we're not a cult following one theory or hoping for the exact same outcome. We all have our own ideas, built from different parts of Stranger Things, including the episodes, merchandise, advertisements, promotions, music, interviews, and many other sources.
Some of the theories people believe in include time travel, memory manipulation, dream/nightmare cycles, lab experiments, Hawkins being an experimental town, California and Russia being Camazotz, Mike's mind being a labyrinth, fantasy storylines representing trauma within someone's nightmare cycle, the characters being inside Henry's mind, spores playing a larger role in what's happening to them, and many more.
For many of us, it's because of the 500+ continuity errors, intentional mistakes, Unexplained important questions, plotholes, the mockumentary, interview hints since Season 4, and over 200 pieces of what we consider meta evidence. We don't necessarily expect everyone else to find these convincing. They simply make sense to us.
5. Different Predictions, Different Dates
Most of us believe new episodes or content will arrive before 2027. Even then, there are different theories about when. Some think it could be November 6, November 26, December 25, or January 1. Others hope it will be sooner, around July 1, 4, 7, 11, or 15. Again, we all have our own reasons for believing what we do.
6. We Don't Believe Every Theory
Most of us won't believe theories that don't make sense to us, especially ones that personally affect real people, such as "Divorce Gate." We don't see intelligent women as powerless enough to be cheated on without knowing, nor do we assume that other writers and crew members aren't capable of doing their jobs well. We still apply our own judgment to the theories we come across.
7. We Want Better Stories for the Characters
Most of us believe that the main characters, especially El, Will, Mike, and others, deserve stronger storylines and meaningful character arcs. We're not just looking for an ending. We want a story that feels complete, earned, and true to the characters we've followed for years.
8. We Believe There May Be More Than One Version of Events
Many of us believe that additional scenes may have been filmed during or even before Season 3, 4 and 5. Some believe alternative timelines or realities exist within the story. Others think there may be a fantasy timeline alongside an original timeline. Again, there isn't one shared belief. There are many possibilities people explore.
9. The Show Has Always Been About Looking Deeper
The show itself has always been about characters uncovering mysteries that others dismissed as impossible or conspiratorial. Joyce, the Party, Nancy, and many others spent entire seasons following clues that nobody else believed. Because of that, we don't think it's unreasonable to look for hidden layers ourselves, especially when we feel there are numerous meta clues and hints pointing toward them.
10. Hope Is What Keeps Us Here
The reason many of us continue with this community is simple: we still believe, and we still hope. We believe there may be a larger purpose behind some of the choices that have been made. Maybe it's a commentary on media literacy. Maybe it's a response to the disappointing endings of other series. Maybe it's something else entirely.
Many of us have also felt frustrated by what appeared to be queerbaiting along the way. We acknowledge those feelings. At the same time, some of us continue because we believe there may be a reason for it all, and that future content could deliver something meaningful for queer fans, outsiders, and people who have connected deeply with these characters. Whether we're right or wrong, that's part of why we're still here. We believe there could be something bigger waiting beyond what we've seen so far.
11. Why Would Netflix Do It? Why Wouldn't They?
People often ask, "Why would Netflix do this?" My question is: why wouldn't they?
Stranger Things is their biggest show. They profit from the main series, spin-offs, merchandise, events, and the constant discussions surrounding it. People talk about the show all year long, whether positively or negatively. If there is a larger reveal or a different ending waiting down the line, it would be something unique and potentially groundbreaking. From our perspective, they don't necessarily have much to lose by keeping people engaged and talking.
12. "Nobody Will Watch It" Doesn't Really Make Sense
One argument I often see is that nobody would watch new content if it came later. Honestly, that's a funny statement to me.
Maybe some people wouldn't. But when the CG discussions started gaining momentum again, how many new people joined? How many people became curious? If something major happened, how many completely new viewers would discover the show?
There will always be people willing to watch Stranger Things because the show has become timeless for many audiences.
13. Marketing Is More Complex Than We Think
Modern marketing isn't as simple as people often assume. Promotion involves mystery, misdirection, surprises, and different strategies across different platforms.
Because of that, I don't automatically assume every public statement is the complete truth. Actors act. Marketing campaigns market. Creators sometimes protect surprises.
The Duffers have made statements that some people interpret one way and others interpret differently. Netflix said they will deceive us this year. Actors said there was no Episode 9, but that doesn't automatically answer every question people have about possible future content, alternate formats, Side B theories, movies, or other possibilities.
There are also many unanswered questions, plot points, and details that we still feel deserve explanations.
15. Season 5 Feels Like It Wants To Be Looked At Twice
For many of us, it isn't only the ending that feels unusual. It's the season as a whole.
When viewed closely, some scenes feel intentionally strange, almost like bloopers, tributes, meta commentary, references to other shows, or clues pointing toward a larger picture. Whether those interpretations are correct or not, many of us feel there is more beneath the surface.
Maybe it connects to a dream cycle, a nightmare, a play, an alternate reality, an experiment, or something else entirely. We don't claim to know the answer. We simply think there may be one.
For those who support Byler, most of us feel that if the creators had no intention of exploring that storyline at all, they wouldn't have included so many moments that people interpret as meaningful throughout Season 4. We can see evidence in S5 Volume 1, Volume 2, and even the final scenes. Others disagree, and that's okay.
My point isn't that everyone should believe the same thing. In fact, I don't recommend anyone believe something just because somebody else does. Look at the evidence, the subtext, and the story yourself. Draw your own conclusions.
And if you end up falling down the endless maze of theories... welcome to the Mind Flayer's favorite hobby.
CG was always here. You’re the ones coming back. We’ve been here since January and beyond. There are silent readers, theory makers, clue hunters, meta analysts, and people who keep the discussions alive every single day.
So friends… in a way, it feels like we’re inside Camazotz, or maybe a kind of Mind Flayer maze of ideas. Some of us see patterns, some of us connect dots, and some of us simply enjoy watching everything unfold.
For those who feel deeply connected to the theories and already believe in the “crazy together” space we’ve built here, you already know what we do. We explore, we connect, we question, and we keep going.
For others who don’t resonate with it, that’s completely okay. You don’t have to stay in something that doesn’t feel right to you. You’re safe to step back, enjoy the show in your own way, and always return later if new content sparks your curiosity again.
And for anyone new who wants to explore with us, welcome. Just open the curiosity door a little. There’s a whole mine of evidence, doubts, confusions, theories, clues, and puzzles in this tag. If you scroll through, you’ll find many different perspectives.
We don’t claim everything is true. We’re all just people trying to connect ideas, and sometimes we get things wrong too. So take everything at your own pace, and feel free to dig for yourself. That’s honestly where the fun is.
What makes this space special is that we share, we discuss, and we build on each other’s thoughts. We just ask for one thing: let’s keep it respectful. It’s totally fine to disagree, but not to mock people who are genuinely trying to explore and contribute.
If you're curious, take time to read the theories shared across the community. If I forgot to mention someone, it’s never intentional, feel free to add them in comments (I tried to add some people like unkind...and Lot others, but I can't see them in my search).

And I’d like to acknowledge all the CG theorists across Twitter, TikTok, Reddit and other platforms who continue putting time and effort into finding connections, clues, and possibilities.
Thank you for coming to my little Ted Talk. I probably forgot a lot, so if anything feels missing, feel free to add it in comments or reblogs.💛🩵🩷
