the interesting thing about the cousland (noble human) origin in DAO is you can argue for a cousland warden, Rendon Howe is actually the main antagonist of the story.

for other wardens, Howe is just some guy who's a little bit of a minor hurdle in taking down Loghain. A Cousland would have known Howe their entire life, known he slaughtered her entire family after lying to their faces for decades, and killing him is really the peak of their arc on revenge

Also a female Cousland who marries Alistair and becomes Queen makes Howe's plan backfire so spectacularly. Not only does Howe die, his family loses all their land which is given to the Grey Wardens (and therefore, Cousland). and the Cousland family end up marrying into the royal line which massively increases their power.
