do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets
her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.
remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.
She is the reason we have Pride Month. Don't forget that the first Pride event was a riot and the reason we have Pride now is because of a black trans woman. And remember that she would be so proud of you for being yourself.

Edited to add: Since a lot of people are reblogging this original post, I'm adding the updated version I did that incorporates the intersex circle...
I know intersex people are still getting excluded in a lot of LGBTQIA+ spaces (let alone wider society) and I think it's crucial to show this group is included in the statement that we all deserve equal rights.
CHALLENGE FOR THIS PRIDE MONTH, if someone says theyâre aromantic/has an aro flag accessory, donât assume theyâre also asexual by default. I wish you all luck
tumblr has a cool new animation for pride month! when u like a post that has a specific queer identity tagged, like #pansexual, the heart will glow and then the aforementioned flag will appear!

You have no idea how good it feels to run into strangers who headcanon a character as aro. In spaces where ships are taken too seriously and around friends who just don't really care all too much about aromanticism, seeing a complete random person headcanon something that I am in real life brings me so much genuine joy
Hello, fellow fandom-obsessed creatives! Please join us for the 11th edition of #AggressivelyArospecWeek in what is officially our tenth year holding this event!
Every year, #AggressivelyArospecWeek (#AAW) is an occasion to promote the creation of arospec fancontent by arospec creators. For an entire week, people on the aromantic spectrum celebrate their experiences through fandom and art.
For this event, âfancontentâ means any creation related to a fandom, whether itâs a headcanon, a piece of meta, fanfic, fanart, a playlist,⌠All fandoms are welcome!
The content created for this event should center a characterâs arospec identity (this can be a canon identity or a headcanon).
We only accept entries from creators who identify as being on the aromantic spectrum or who are questioning whether they might be.
This event is an opportunity for creators to explore their identities through fanwork within a supportive community. Itâs also a perfect way for fans of all kinds (arospec or not) to enjoy art and have fun!
Join us from June 21 to June 27 2026 for an explosion of arospec fancontent on your dash!
To submit content to the event, please make a new post between June 21 and June 27 and tag it as #AggressivelyArospecWeek. You can also submit your work directly to our blog through the ask and submission boxes. Your post will then be shared on the Aggressively Arospec blog.
A collection will also be opened on Archive of Our Own to round up all the fanfics posted on there. Just search for âAggressively Arospec Week â26â in the âPost to collectionsâ tab when youâre posting on AO3.
Help us make this year's edition another success! Weâve only come this far through your support and creativity.
Please, take a second to share this post so your followers get to join in the fun as well đ
(For more information, check out our âAboutâ page or our FAQ section. You can also check last year's FAQ if there's anything else you'd like to know. If you need some inspiration, you can also check out all previous submissions in our #AggressivelyArospecWeek tag.)

The first LGBT group I ever joined asked me to leave because they didnât consider asexual to count as queer. It wasnât visible enough to them. And more than that, they were concerned that I was a CisHet man only using the label of asexual to sneak into what was meant to be a safe space
Now that Iâm out and transitioned, I still run up against this suspicion that Iâm just infiltrating spaces and making them dangerous for the people theyâre meant to protect
Iâm tired of being seen as a predator when Iâm just trying to exist
- Crush ca 120g Oreos (separated from the white filling first)
- melt 50g Butter and mix with the Oreos
- press the mixture into a Ă18cm springform (use a drinking glass or similar flat object) and then put it in the fridge
- whip 400g cream until it's not completely liquid anymore
- add cream stiffener (modified starch) and some vanilla (you can also use something else to stabilize the whipped cream if you want. For example replace a part with cream cheese/ philadelphia etc.)
- microwave the oreo filling for a few seconds (just to soften it a little) and add that too
- finish whipping the cream
- separate the cream into 3 bowls
- crush 4 oreos and add them to one bowl, leave one white, and add purple food coloring to the last (I used it because I had some leftover anyway. But it's also possible to use some of the blueberry juice)
- pour the layers into your cake form (put the cake back in the fridge between layers)
- cook ca 250g blueberries in a pot with a little bit of orange juice or water (ca 5 minutes or until the berries are soft and you can crush them)
- strain the blueberries through a sieve
- pour the blueberry juice back into the pot
- optional: add sugar. I didn't because I used double cream oreos so I thought the cream was more than sweet enough, and my blueberries weren't super sour either. You can also experiment with some spices like for example cinnamon.
- mix ca 3 heaped teaspoons vanilla pudding powder (=corn starch) with a couple spoonfuls orange juice in a cup
- let the blueberries come to a simmer and pour in the starch while whisking. Keep boiling for another minute then take it off the heat. (it's probably better to use agar agar instead of pudding powder but I didn't have any)
- The next part is a little tricky because you need to let the pot cool down, but not so much that you couldn't pour the mass anymore. Keep whisking every now and then until it's not super hot to touch anymore.
- carefully pour it onto your cake with a spoon
- decorate with more blueberries
- leave the cake in the fridge for at least a few hours
I never thought about it this way but YES! I used to read about historic figures things like "She was always writing letters to her best friend and she never married. Clearly she was a lesbian," and it always made me sad because I was always writing letters to MY best friends and never married, but I'm just aroace and really love friendship. Couldn't some of those historic singletons have been like me? But if I mentioned the possibility, usually another queer person would snap at me about how they deserved to find representation where they could. I get that, but if it a historic person's sexuality is completely unknown, can't we share the imagined representation between us? We can both claim SchrĂśdinger's sexuality for that dead person.
Asexual here. We're finally getting some media representatives, and they (LGBTQIA+) members get mad that we're "not a real member" and "why are they representing asexuals in media" Like dude, chill, there's enough media for representatives for everyone.
We really gotta stop acting like people on different parts of the asexual spectrum have nothing in common.
I'm in a QPR with an ace person, and I won't go into detail about it, but we are on two very different parts of the asexual spectrum. Along with the massive differences, we still have a million things in common when it comes to being asexual. We often talk about being ace since as far as I know we don't have a lot of other ace friends so we mostly have each other to talk about this sort of thing, and the fact that we're not on the same part of the spectrum has never meant that we couldn't relate to each other's experiences. We even learned about ourselves through understanding each other!
It's a big spectrum, you'll have a bunch of people who experience something completely differently from you, but I can guarantee that those people still have something in common with you.

I'm noticing a subtle shift in fandom where people seem a lot more accepting of asexual/aromantic/aroace headcanons and it really makes me happy. it was so common years ago for everyone to get viciously angry whenever you tried to make an aroace headcanon because they saw it as offensive in every way under the sun and it just. hurt me so much. but in the past few years I've noticed that those headcanons are more prevalent in fandoms and even sometimes they'll be the most mainstream headcanon for a certain character and there's very rarely discourse about it and it kind of makes me want to cry (happy)
would love to be able to find aroallo content, hell even just aromantic content, without ace and aroace stuff flooding my feed. like bro thatâs not what I ordered
