Yesterday, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, PCOS, and a B12 deficiency. This is on top of pre-existing autism, ADHD, POTS, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, hypermobility, and more!!

The endocrinologist I saw yesterday was the first doctor who sat with me and said, “this is what your bloods mean. This is how it works internally. This is the improvement we expect to see with treatments. This is what we’ll do if that doesn’t work.”

He laid out a road map, gave me the biological reasoning behind everything, and most importantly he listened and validated what I was telling him.

I got tested for PCOS in 2021, they told me from one external scan I didn’t have it. I got bloods done in 2023 after a major ovarian pain, in which the doctor said “your scans indicate you don’t have it but we’ll test” and because I was about 5mmol short on one of the variables was told I didn’t have it. I spent so long convincing myself that I was wrong about my body, the pain was normal, the periods were normal, and I was being dramatic because two doctors had told me so.

And now I find out that I was right. I feel so seen and so vindicated but I don’t know where to put that?? Now I’m anxious about the treatment and rewriting my life and what things will look like in 6 months without this constant exhaustion.
