i know people talk about this quite often but it is pretty cool that the h2o tails were made in 2006 and nothing in the past 20 years has even come close to looking that realistic

Yes! These tails are so believable because they swim like actual mermaid tails and aren't bending like knees. And the detail is amazing!

I am begging Hollywood for more mermaid movies! Live action or animated, I don't even need it to be 100% original, adapt a book, but give me more mermaid content, PLEASE!

I love the Kenna luberto ship art but I feel like ever since it came out there’s been so much misinformation and it has been bugging me so:

1. The ship art wasn’t made by the main creator. The main creator, Enrico Casarosa, made the movie with the intent to have it be a friendship and a platonic story. He supports the ship but it wasn’t his goal. The art was made by Kenna who I believe is a co-director or story lead or smth. A higher up crew member for sure but not the main creator don’t erase Enrico

2. It is not inherently canon. Kenna introduced the post as unsanctioned (meaning not official) fanart. Their word is not inherently canon to Luca as they are not the only or primary creator. Everyone says they’re canon now and as much as I would love that to be true I care deeply for semantics.

3. Kenna’s ship art is NOT CONCEPT ART. It was a fanart post made after the film came out, it was not an intended explicitly queer story concept that Disney censored (not that Disney doesnt do that all the time but let’s point fingers in the right places). If there were any queer plans it’s unrelated to Kennas art and it was not an openly shown romance between the boys.

I love luberto and Luca is dripping with queer allegory but we can appreciate that without rewriting the intention of the movie and erasing Enrico’s vision or authority over his own world and characters.

🫧Minor Toy Story 5 spoilers🫧

I related so much to Bonnie in Toy Story 5. Obviously the story is centered around tech being not-so-great and that kids should be playing with toys instead (which I totally agree) but I feel like her story also did an amazing job at showing what it's like to grow up feeling different than everybody else. Not feeling like you fit in and struggling to make connections because you don't seem to have that one thing that everyone else has or just seems to have different interests than everybody else and then feeling like you need to blend in and copy what everyone else is doing so you can actually make a friend.

And then when Bonnie does make a friend- a good friend- at the end of the movie, it's like when you've finally found your people. The friends that just get you and also get excited about your silly interests and hobbies.

Toy Story 5 was absolutely amazing and everyone should see it!
