made this quickly today :] sinodendron rugosum male (L) and female (R). with the protective dome on it, it stands about 1.5 inches tall
it's very much amateur work, but i enjoyed making it. i found the beetles already deceased and in pieces inside bore-holes in a rotting birch tree that i like to search for bugs on. i finally found two complete specimens! i didn't want to attempt to glue all the pieces of legs together, so i took advantage of the moss and just didn't bother.
i used wood glue to reconnect the parts and glue the bits together, which isn't best-practice but is cheap and fine when you don't care too much. i already froze everything involved, but i get so scared of dermestids in my collection, so off to the freezer for another week it goes.
