I may be a kitty princess with kitty biases, but I really need to acknowledge that puppies are so cute and pretty. Just an observation
There's puppies on my dash and all of them are very good girls
big fan of puppies. kitties and puppies can be friends (making out sloppy style, boobs squishing together, etcetera)
TRUE
researching the history of education in japan and learning that, pre–Meiji Restoration, peasants/commoners formed their own schools to become educated because it was the best way of fighting tax fraud.
That is, when an official told you, a rice farmer, that you owed more taxes than you really did, it was very useful if you were good enough at math to know he was lying (and could prove it) and if you were good enough at writing to write a letter to your government defending your case.
all of which is to say it's crazy that mega-corporations are now pushing education to be "what if you paid us whatever we tell you to for the rest of your life and never do math or write anything ever again"
@wooftphr
it continues
Hey why the fuck are snakes part of a group call four foots?
Because they evolved from four-limbed ancestors*. Some snakes even have vestigial pelvis and/or femur bones, just sort of hanging out inside their body, not doing anything in particular, and a few have visible (but tiny) vestigial limbs called pelvic spurs, which are sometimes used as mating claspers.
(*Bonus fun fact: All terrestrial vertebrates are tetrapods. So are all of the marine mammals**.)
(**Some whales have vestigial leg bones, too!)
All things considered, the human body is quite incredible. The fact you can just feed it the right cocktail of hormones, and the body will adapt and start behaving in accordance with the opposite sex without any issue or complaint... like business as usual... It sounds a little fantastical, doesn't it... We sometimes feel sad about the lack of "gender change magic" in our world, but it really is perfectly attainable if you secure the right dose... Ease of access is a moral obligation, I think.
What fucks me up is that the actual concentration of estradiol is so small it's measured in picomols (pico = one trillionth). If there's 750 pmol/L in you, that amounts to only about a single microgram in your whole body – one billionth of a gram. What the fuck??? For comparison, my daily Adderall dose is 40,000 times that much!
I guess that's how even just absorbing it through the skin can be effective.... it's strong stuff...
People really do underestimate how effective it is! It's not just anatomical changes but physiological ones too!
It's not just the tits, but they also work like cis women tits. It's not that my body is shaped like a woman, it behaves like a cis woman's. Almost like I am one or something.

This June, I need Gen Z queers to understand that some people are closeted.
I am saying this as a Gen Z queer, before y’all get your guns out to fucking shoot me.
But I need y’all to understand that if someone doesn’t give you their government name in a queer space, it’s not because they’re “mysterious,” and you do not have permission to take it upon yourself to figure out their “real identity” and go digging for them online like a private investigator. First, that’s creepy and a violation of privacy and reasonable boundaries. Second, some of us keep our private and professional lives very separate because we need to keep food on the fucking table and a roof over our heads, and our private life could jeopardize that.
“Why won’t you tell me about your parents?” “Why can’t I know your real name?” “Where do you work?”
1.) Not all our parents would bake us a fucking cake when we come out. Some of us are closeted. Surely you understand this? You also do not need to know my parent’s names or occupations; we are both adults. I do not need nor want to mix you and my private life with my parents and my public life.
2.) Trans people do not owe you their dead name or government name
3.) I’m not telling you for the sake of job security. I am a government fucking caseworker working amidst a fucking lavender panic!
“There’s no way you’re a different person outside this; you’re still you at your core. What harm is there—”
No, I am a completely different person. A different person with a different personality and different interests and a different name and presentation. I am a completely different person because I keep this life and my public life private to avoid fracturing 90% of my interpersonal relationships and 100% of my professional ones.
“You’re not out? But you’re so confident.”
See— that’s part of the issue. Y’all assume someone is in the closet because they hate themselves or lack self-identity. Some of us know exactly who we are, but need to prioritize financial stability or else our entire life gets exponentially harder immediately.
You meet queer people over the age of 40 and one of the first/earliest questions is “who knows?”
I need y’all to start bringing that energy. Because it’s not always safe for someone to be out and not everyone is safe to be out around.
There is a misnomer that “the closet” inherently means “doesn’t know they’re queer” and not “isn’t out widely and publicly.” “Outness” is often a patchwork.
I've rarely seen a more validating sentence in my entire life.

its insane to witness the bullshit tmras spread here entering other websites.
no, there isn't a forcefem agenda and anyone who says there is cant understand when people are joking.
no, transmascs arent invisible, trans women are hypervisible and targeted for it.
kill all tmra's
There's construction (well, mostly destruction) going on next door and I have turned into menwatchingworkers.jpg for highs like these.
Apparently I should've tagged this 'rapture' or something
9/11
not even joking this is one of the worst possible changes that i could've reasonably conceived of to happen to video games.
having thought about it this is a generationally anti-consumer announcement that will have a profoundly detrimental impact on consumers and retail markets. this will price out new consumers even more than a $600 PS5 and $80 games will. this will make games less accessible and more nickel-and-dimed. this will make games impossible to share irl without giving your console up, and will stop institutions like libraries from being able to loan copies of modern games. and most importantly, it will be for a minimal profit, as most of the sales in video games are already digital.
this is such a staggeringly catastrophic piece of news that i'm shocked it wasn't said by nintendo. congrats to sony for one-upping them in anti-consumer practices.
I feel bad for people who’ve never experienced a corn maze bc it’s not even fun but you just have to do it
I'd like to reblog this with some tags and comments bc I've really appreciated reading them
people who get what I mean:
people who have found a way to have fun in the corn maze but who I'm a little worried about:
person who we are going to put in the corn:
summer heat

can we please acknowledge that tma/tme is a meaningful distinction? a justice of the US supreme court is openly saying that it's legal to discriminate against trans women because the same laws do not target trans men. the transmisogyny is what makes it permissible. your transphobia is fine as long as it has carveouts for men.
Fascinating parallel here. This incapacity of the legal framework to protect groups who are at the intersection of two protected groups (trans women in this case, black women in the original) even while protecting both groups individually is Crenshaw's original reason for coining the word "intersectionality", which has since gone through the wringer.
i'm getting the sense some of you are not actually forklift certified.
well damn . egg on my face
THE PLOT THICKENS @averagejoey2000 explain yourself
I can't believe this is how I'm finding out that I got a scam forklift cert.
I took the cargo ops class at school but my teacher explained that it doesn't give a certification and I'd only be okay for ship's crane and the school forklifts. she said I could take an online exam and get my cert. I paid 60 bucks.
I'm googling and I'm seeing a lot of resources saying that the online programs cover the classroom part of the exam but not the in person practical aspect.
29 CFR 1910.178 (l)(2)(ii)
but I did the in person practical shit at school.
the back of the card even had fancy numbers on it. I couldn't have known that this isn't the one. this website sounded more official than certifyme.net, and there wasn't one with a .gov address.
so, I emailed OSHA, and they said that so long as I live and work in California, there's no such thing as forklift certification. I have to be told how to do it every time I get the job.
Update: I took a certification class in shipboard Material Handling Equipment at my federal job. *now* I'm forklift certified, but only on ships and piers and only for this company, but also rated to forklift explosives and hazardous materials. Also I'm a woman now.
