i think it was kind of a major failing to frame the self diagnosis issue around whether it's "valid" or not rather than the fact that unless an official diagnosis is necessary for you to access actually beneficial pharmaceuticals/treatment, accomodations or disability benefits, you should actively avoid on-paper diagnosis for your basic safety and access to care

Kinda crazy how many notable artists in the grunge genre sang about hating themselves and wishing everything was different and being suicidal and conceptualized themselves as having been raped. It is possible grunge itself can be thought of as a genre invented to sing about dysphoria

My pet theory is that like at least 30% of all men who've ever decided to become the singer for an alternative music project did it to vent feelings of gender dysphoria they didn't know about. If transition were decriminalized and normalized enough we might see as much as half of some genres' frontrunners become women

been said before but. allies also often throw in a “well actually when transwomen are included in sports with regular women they come nowhere near being the best so it’s fine to let them compete together.” bc like, well, i would like to think i could one day become the best. am i only allowed to play in sports because I’m not actually trying? it shows that there is actually a threshold in ability that, when reached, will cause certain groups of people who seem to support trans women in sports to reevaluate and find out they have been bioessentialists the whole time

Every time I compete I am scared I will win. Nobody should ever have to be in that situation. I got second at a competition and I saw the look on the face of the woman who got third, and I left that competition as quickly as I could because I didn't know if she would try to do something about it.

something I really enjoy is that I've now seen like 4 or 5 variations of roughly this same video, all slightly different in their angles and timing while obviously being the exact same bunny and room, implying that this is a consistent and frequent behavior for this bunny instead of just a funny thing it did once that got caught on camera. you've cried out and sobbed plenty of times when i've had you out of the cage, and so has she, but now she is screaming, really screaming in a way that you haven't heard her do and you certainly haven't done before and from inside the cage you can't tell what i'm doing to her to make her do that but she is screaming, long, like using a whole breath and then breathing all the way in and screaming again, and you feel scared, somewhere deep & muffled, but mostly you want to throw up

as i'm leading her back to the cage and she's sobbing and crawling, you realize that if you turn away from her out of guilt you'll be more alone than you ever were before, but if you comfort her then you're taking advantage of the way she fawns after being tortured, and this time it's your fault: it would make you just like me. yet she needs you. she wants to cry into you. she doesn't care that you helped me do this, even if you want her to care, want her to hate you, want her to spit. you deserve it, you think. you don't know what will happen if you're cold to her but you know it won't make me let up. it won't save either of you. you could comfort her. it's what you both need. but if you let this drive her further into you, you know that you'll have taken part in whatever game i was playing tonight. i'll win, just like always. the cage door opens and she spills in. decisions, decisions.
