you can just say "person with ovaries." "an AFAB" makes literally no sense here, in addition to being grammatically nonsensical. sorry but this bleet has been pissing me off all day but i feel like if i reply to it i'll get it trouble.
a trans man who hasn't had any ovaries for 25 years isn't going to experience perimenopause in his mid-40s, so why include him based on a gender assigned to him as a baby? like... he was a baby.
like why bother acting like you want to be trans-inclusive if you're too lazy to recognize that sometimes, trans bodies aren't going to be the same as they were at birth when they got handed their baby gender
I feel like I am taking crazy pills
Who would win: the twelve angry men from Twelve Angry Men or the seven samurai from Seven Samurai?
max i will not entertain this fandombrained powerscaling foolishness from you. the fact that you would even ask is offensive. it's the samurai by such a wide margin that your asking beggars belief

genuinely desktop linux will never see mass adoption until some huge mega corporation or future socialist state produces a centralised out of the box version that comes packaged with physical devices. 99% of users do not want to do research on different forks and their strengths they want a box that turns on and shows them the button for the internet
No joke the fact that I could get a netbook with Linpus Linux Lite on it and it had the button for the internet is the reason I know so much about Linux now. Lots of old netbooks did this and I think it was the closest we've come to what you're describing. I got over the initial hump too, because I was a kid and I wanted to figure out how to put more games on it. The fact that the absolute cheapest way for me to play lots of different games was to get a little netbook with Linux and play flash games was the spark that got me into this stuff. Cool little devices
that post where someone says lesbians are over represented in media and all the examples were kids cartoons. lol
I mean, cartoons are the only media that ever mattered to me… so yeah?
this is a really embarrassing addition to be making at 40 years old unfortunately
ok there's nothing wrong with cartoons honestly i dont watch them or any tv in general but what, you think adults should only want to see real humans doing bad acting/simulating of emotions in a non plausible way instead of animation which can be a lot more visually interesting and not just people being bad at acting .. idg what the point being made here even is. haha you're 40 and watch cartoons. okay and you apparently like watching real humans being filmed performing emotions unconvincingly. now what 😐
you’re the second person to witness this interaction and sincerely believe the embarrassment comes from “you watch cartoons” and not “um, well I only watch cartoons so yeah [lesbophobic made up shit] is true actually” which should also be really embarrassing for you
there was a lesbian in glee.
and? 😭
We have this interesting situation where we basically no longer have privacy nor the expectation of privacy, but we also don't have community or meaningful connection with others, so we're all simultaneously both completely exposed and absolutely alone, and please understand that when I say this situation is "interesting", what I in fact mean is that it's "nightmarish and I wish I could wake up"

“our age of bronze is collapsing” is this beautiful random burst of monty python dialogue amidst the drudgery of nolan’s vision and i think it should win the first-ever oscar for best solitary line

Now would be a good time for everyone to understand how the US dollar hegemony works, and how oil was leveraged to turn the dollar into a weapon. Here, it goes like this:
1. The United States creates dollars, which costs them essentially nothing.
2. Over time, US military power compelled the biggest oil producers (starting with Saudi Arabia in 1974) to trade exclusively in dollars.
3. When a company needs oil, it needs dollars to buy it. You can obtain dollars in a number of ways: you can take a loan or you can sell shoes to the US or teacups to Europe. Notice that the factory has to ship actual shoes to the US or to third markets in order to obtain, basically, a bookkeeping entry that took the US microseconds to create.
4. The oil company receives the shoe factory's dollars in exchange for oil. It invests these dollars into US treasury bonds or securities, which is really the only sensible thing they can do --cash deprecates in value over time, and there are virtually no other risk-free places to park your billions of dollars worth of oil earnings.
5. The US puts part of the investment it received into military use, so that it can keep anyone who would dare to detach from this dollar hegemony in check. The rest goes to enrich the US. Return to step 1.
Note that this mechanism is essentially an obfuscated tax on the rest of the world. An Iranian shoe factory has to obtain dollars if it wants to buy oil, and the oil company is incentivized to store its dollars in the US treasury. This means that part of the value that foreign capitalists would otherwise pocket actually ends up in the United States.
To obtain a million dollars, the US government pushes a button; to obtain the same million a Bangladeshi factory has to sew 500 000 T-shirts.
Because the oil bill comes in dollars and the only deep, liquid, politically safe asset is a US Treasury bond, value flows to Wall Street.
In other words: The US creates money, manufactures a need for everyone to hold some of that money, and then incentivizes them to return that money to the US.
The petrodollar was only ever the beginning. Many things are gated behind the dollar: Shipping, aviation, SWIFT transactions, etc. Everyone needs dollars; if you can't get any you're going to struggle in the global capitalist economy. This is why the US gets to create seemingly endless dollars and have them still hold value, it's why the US can bend anyone reliant on the dollar to their will via sanctions; the dollar itself acts as a weapon. Of course, the status quo is maintained at gunpoint, and the dollar's value is ultimately backed by US military might. The United States exports death.
Because of all of this, the US has an enormous material incentive to keep oil flowing, to keep its military spending high, and to topple any and all projects that would endanger this system. To stop the flow of unequal exchange, to stop the coercive taxation over the rest of the world, would be to destabilize the US empire. Anyone who would provide an alternative must necessarily be seen as an adversary.
Want to nationalize your oil? Want to deal in another currency? Are you another military superpower? No? Too bad, here's one million drone strikes and a new *democratic* government for you.
This is why shifting to renewables has been such a struggle in the west, this is why the planet is warming, this is why the US is engaged in endless wars, this is why most of the world is poor, this is why millions have died. This is imperialism and it must be dismantled.
it's always so funny how insistent people are that war "isn't inherently political" like you would be hard pressed to find something more inherently political
people from different countries actually just kill each other with guns for several years at a time for no reason
need everyone to understand that this is not some kind of obscure online discourse iceberg. this is the median american voter
European residents: the USA military pursues complex geopolitical interests we have to respect
Middle East residents: the USA military is a bunch of fascists that pillages the entire global south for a neocolonialist and religiously fanatical project
Usamericans: nobody knows why our brave heroes go out every week to kill more brown and black people

When I was still not dropped out of my university, back in like 2017-2019, I (tme, nb) played on a women's club rugby team (that means not sponsored by the school just affiliated with it, we were allowed to make our own rules) and was a board member. The community we developed, the skills I learned, the fun I had. It was something I thought everyone should experience once in their lives.
I distinctly remember the conversations we had where we decided to explicitly write into team's by-laws that transfeminine people were allowed to play on our team if they chose to do so. I remember working with our Captain, President, and VP to plan ahead for what we would do if a transfem joined our team and faced backlash, either internally or externally and how to protect her. I encouraged my transfem friends to join our team (although only one was slightly sporty and she leaned more towards something less full-contact because of her disabilities).
I also remember having conversations around allowing trans men on our team because the men's club team WOULD NOT let them join and we really just wanted to get as many underrepresented people exposed to rugby as possible.
But that was the whole point, the small group that had been cultivated at my university hated the segregated, hierarchical system placed on us. We wanted everyone, reguardless of gender to be able to participate in the thing that we loved and felt like made us so much stronger.
And thats why I am appalled how in 2026, almost 10 years later, so many people (cough cough queer tme and particularly cis women) into women's sports seem to have completely lost the plot when trans women start to be involved. I thought this stuff was basic feminism. I thought this was entry level stuff. But instead you let your transmisogyny regress you into something so vile that you forgot what you were even fighting for in the first place.
You forgot that all of this started by "women" being "too weak" to compete against "men" effectively and the counter argument that people's gender has nothing to do with their propensity for a specific sport. And now your head has gone so far up your own ass that you are peaking out the other side screaming that "poor weak biological girls can never compete against big biological men" and beg to keep your sports segregated.
Take one second to listen to the experiences of the trans women around you and the impact this has on them. Why should you get access to something that they are completely barred from purely for being transfeminine? You shouldn't.
So you know what? If a transfem wants to tell you that you don't deserve what is being denied to them if all you are going to do is leave them behind then boo fucking hoo on you I guess, loser.

go watch the wpbl.
there’s lesbians covered in mud. there’s a mascot that’s 80% awesome and 20% problematic. there’s Chappell Roan over the loudspeakers. there’s legends of women’s athletics throwing the first pitch and little children watching the future unfold from the stands. there’s Springfield, Illinois. there’s misogynistic weather. there’s people in the comments section on YouTube actively explaining the rules to newbies who are interested in the sport for the first time because it exists for them too now. there’s some rough times in the outfield. there’s stars from banana ball and little league and the olympics. there’s insane comebacks in the final inning. there’s commentators breathlessly anticipating a future full of equal access to development programs and athletic specialists. there’s a lot of wind.
go watch the wpbl there’s a chance to witness the beginning of something new and cool.
there's no trans women because it's segregated
i will go to bat for the fact that most of the queer coded villains you see aren't queer coded but specifically transfeminine coded
i think if you can explain the queer coding as "character displays femininity while being a man/mannish and it's portrayed as humorous or monstrous" what you're dealing with is transmisogyny, not some ephemeral "queer coding"
