It briefly hit the news that Amazon was full of bizarro porn shorts (not just monster fucking but iirc that was the most prominent one) and Amazon went through a moral panic and deleted all the books. You can still find listings of them on Goodreads. Some of the authors moved on to writing full length romance novels or left for other venues like Smashwords.
Was just thinking about this stuff again. I forgot to mention here that dinosaur smut in particular was the hottest Amazon trend in 2012, and being silly in the middle of it was how Chuck Tingle made his first big splash.

Really funny that this is going around and getting notes like #someday I’ll write books like these. Guys, these aren’t novels. These are 2000-5000 word pornographic short stories. And they were mostly bad! I used to write and sell these, and mine were terrible. You could write something as good as them in a couple hours right now if you wanted to. Live the dream. Just don’t try to sell it on Amazon.
