like seriously, what’s the point of the reader insert tag if the reader isn’t even inserted? a tag meant for readers where readers aren’t included, give me a break. and on ao3 it’s getting even worse.

these oc writers seriously need to get some shame, my god.

you have HUNDREDS of tags to use, and you choose the one that’s meant to insert and include as many readers as possible so they can feel represented.

Edit: I wanted to add on another issue I see, which isn't frequent but still annoying nonetheless. It's when someone uses the m!reader tag or another variant of the tag but the fic is clearly meant for f!readers.

Idgaf if you want reach for your fic, stop using the tag if it isn't m!reader. This can also be applied to gn!reader, stop using that tag if it isn't gn!reader.
