Anyone know what the significance of the 51 is? The numbers 42 and 564 are an ongoing pun but I don't think 51 was ever something that was explained. Anyone got any ideas?
I don't think this is what exactly Ohkubo intended (since we don't know, he might have just picked number 51 because he felt like it. Or it's another corny reference to Area 51 in Nevada) just my personal favorite headcanon on what 51 meant. So in goroawase 51 can be read as itsu-hito, resembling itsumo hito (いつも人) meaning 'Always Human' or 'Forever Human' kinda like how Soul's arc is partly about keeping his humanity in the face of the black blood corruption.
Lol I love the idea that maybe Soul is a bit of a conspiracy theorists and is super into Area 51 and aliens. I'm like 90% sure that it was just a random number but that 10% has a chokehold on me and is convinced that there's something more.
you can argue that the first image is a 57 but like come oooooon. Someone also pointed out that there are 51 episodes in the anime, which I'm sure is a coincidence but I'mma put a pin in it anyway.
