Anyway, you opened the front door, and a rush of cool air burst into the corridor. You heard Sebek shiver, despite being wrapped in many different layers. Grim was also shivering, but he had claimed that he only needed his scarf and gloves to keep warm. You called his bluff, but he stuck to his guns.

When Sebek had finally joined you outside, you immediately shouted, “LET’S BUILD A SNOWMAN!”

You managed to spook him with the sudden outburst, but he immediately started making a plan. He was going to make the base, as he would be able to roll it to the designated spot you made. You would get its midsection, and he would help you lift it up. Then, Grim would make the head out of snow.

And so you all split up. You had to head inside to grab a spare scarf as well as a carrot and buttons, and then you placed them on the ground at said spot. Then you started getting the snowball for the torso.

It didn’t take too long for Sebek to finish, nor did it take long for Grim, but the difference was that Grim found himself rolling as a snowball with the snowball. He was rolling down the hill, and he suddenly hit a rock hidden in the snow, and he was launched into the air. It’s not like he could aim away from you, so he ended up landing on top of you.

With a loud oomph, you landed on the ground, and your boyfriend rushed over to make sure that you were okay. It turns out that you were laughing as you, through giggles, asked if the cat monster was okay. The crocodile half-fae helped you up, checking over you to make sure that you didn’t sustain any serious injuries, and you just continued to make the torso of the snowman.

Eventually, you and Grim rolled your parts to Sebek’s part, and he helped you lift each part. Grim was insistent on lifting his own, so the knight lifted the cat who, in turn, placed the head on top of the snowman.

Now it was time to decorate it, and you grabbed the scarf and wrapped it around the snowman’s neck. Sebek shoved the carrot in the middle of the head, making it its nose. Grim helped with the buttons, and you smiled at the masterpiece. You turned to see your lover, and the tip of his nose as well as the apples of his cheeks were pink.

Maybe it was time to head inside.

You immediately started making some hot chocolate. You didn’t realize how cold you actually were because of how much fun you were having, but you couldn’t feel your fingers or toes. It felt like a Herculean effort to just blink. The aroma of the sweet ingredients wafted through the air, making the dorm smell amazing.

“I’m sorry…” That was a first. You turned to see the man who you’ve called your ‘knight in shining armor’, looking ashamed and guilty.

“For what, Seb?”

“For neglecting you, and that is the best way to say it so don’t say differently. You had to go to Waka-sama and Lilia-sama for Seven’s sakes because I was prioritizing my work over you,” He was getting a bit worked up, angry about his own failure.

“Just admitting your fault is enough-”

“No, it is not. I hurt you, which is detestable for a knight! What can I do to make it up to you?”

A moment passed of him being close to tears, and you had to hold in your laughter. But, you can’t really be blamed. For the longest time, the First Year who was now on his knees, begging for a way to get you to forgive him, had called you a ‘human’ in such a disgusted tone. Maybe the significant other effect is real?

The hot cocoa was finished, and you poured it into two mugs from the pot you made it in. Your smile dropped, a sombre expression appearing on your face in its place.

“Do you have time to have a cup of hot chocolate with me?” You asked, voice very close to breaking. You had to use both hands to steady the mug as you extended it towards him, and his eyes were surprisingly glassy.

There was one that you were looking for, but if you did not receive it in three day’s time, you would accept someone at random.

Well, your silent prayer was answered in the way you didn’t expect, nor in the way you wished.

Rollo Flamme had sent you a letter via a pigeon. You rushed to go get it some food after you untied the letter from the bird’s leg. Opening the letter, you read it, just to feel your heart beat a million times and break just a few seconds later.

Dear Y/N,

I am writing to you to ask if you would be my partner for the Christmas Ball. It has come to my attention that in order to attend, one must have a partner. I would like to keep up appearances that say I am not letting the past… events… affect me or the social relationship of our respective schools negatively. I am hoping that we come to an understanding on this, as I am coming as a guest on behalf of Noble Bell College.

Should you accept, I would forever be in your debt. After all, you helped me here in Fleur City as well, and I do not believe I have paid you back for that. Ask anything of me afterward, and I will see to it that your wish is granted.

I apologize for the inconveniences this may or may not bring you.

Rollo Flamme

Well, a win is a win. You were gonna be able to go to the Christmas Ball with Rollo, the man you had harbored a crush on since the Masquerade Ball. He made you feel appreciated when no one else did, and while that was because you had no magic, you were going to take what you could get.

You immediately wrote a small note in return as the pigeon feasted on small breadcrumbs. Your hand was shaking a bit, but that might have been because your wish was finally coming true… in the most heart-shattering way possible.

Dear Rollo,

I accept your invitation to be your partner for the Christmas Ball. I await your arrival with eagerness. I ask for nothing in return, as this is what friends do for one another. 

By the way, I fed your pigeon so that it may not be tired on its way back to you.

This does not cause any inconvenience to me.

Rollo kept clicking his pen as he read your note. The brevity of it was appreciated, but it was the way in which you said that you were excited for him to be there that made his face feel warm. He was lucky that no one was around because they would have seen blush on his face.

Preparations were being made for his departure, and he was glad that he finally had a partner so that he may attend the event. He originally did not want to go, and should you have refused him, he wouldn’t have gone. Now he had a reason to go, as he did not want to disappoint you in any way. 

His bags were packed, but his mind was unpacked. Ever since you had saved him from the dark space he had succumbed to, his mind was filled by you. Images of casual dates with you flew about in his brain, and all he wanted was to be with you.

However, what would everyone think if he began dating you? Everyone would know that he had a soft spot, and he would be with someone from a rivaling school. There were too many risks with that. Plus, your friends would think you were insane by choosing him. To be fair, he would think you aren’t right in the mind either. After all, who would want to be with a person who set his entire school on fire out of pure, blind rage (you, apparently).

The day eventually came, and the cafeteria was completely cleared for the event. It was transformed into a festive room, an elegantly gothic Christmas tree in the corner to match with NRC’s aesthetic.

Grim opted to skip this event, as you bribed him with some fancy tuna. You had spent hours making sure your outfit was perfect, and that you had everything waiting to go.

Everyone was gathered outside of the cafeteria, waiting for their partners to arrive so that they may be admitted into the building to escape the cold. You were looking around to find Rollo, and you were thinking that maybe he didn’t come after all.

After a few moments of searching around and giving up, heartbroken, you started to head back to your dormitory. However, a hand reached out for your shoulder, and you jumped in surprise. You turned to see the man you had been waiting for with an apologetic look on his face.

“I apologize for making you wait this long. I couldn’t find you in this crowd of idiots.”

His statement made you laugh, as you knew a few people who would agree with him.

“It’s alright, Rollo! I’m just glad you came. I’ve missed you!” You pulled him into a hug, and the man was too stunned to speak. Your perfume or cologne that you had chosen to wear brought a feeling of comfort in his heart and lungs, making him feel as though he could actually breathe.

Once you pulled away, he extended his arm out for you to take, and you wrapped your hand around the crease in his elbow. Then, you both were allowed into the room at the Christmas Ball. It was definitely very grand and elegant, and you found yourself twirling about to take in the entire venue.

A few people let out gasps upon seeing you on the arm of Rollo Flamme, not sure what to make of it. You saw Ace and Deuce standing with each other as well, knowing that they went as friends. Attending the event meant that you got to skip the day’s classes, so obviously they were going to go.

About an hour into the event, the DJ hired took the mic off the stand.

“All partners, head to the dance floor. The waltzing is about to begin.”

Rollo was nervous as he put his left hand on your waist and his right held yours. You put your left hand on his shoulder, and you smiled at him with that absolutely radiant smile of yours. The sight alone had the man internally on his knees, praying to whatever being was up there that you would be his and his alone.

The music started, and he took the lead. It was simple enough, only having to go by a count of three. You turned to look at your friends all around you, and you could feel the awkwardness between everyone. However, you were completely fine with where you were… even if it was under a pretense.

“Those idiots don’t even know where to place their hands… How did they even get in?” He asked, seeing Ace and Deuce.

“They are my friends, and it’s because I didn’t want to go with them. A lot of people surprisingly ended up asking me, but I refused them.”

You telling him that just made jealousy bubble up in his chest, but the fact that you turned each of those bumbling fools down made him feel better. You accepted him.

“I can’t say that I blame you,” He said.

He pulled you impossibly closer to him, making you a bit flustered. He got close to your face, looking very serious.

“...I’m not sure how I would react to someone who isn’t myself dancing with you.”

“And why is that, Rollo?” He let loose on his grip to twirl you around before you went back into position.

“Because I have fallen in love with you and I am not sure I want to get back up,” You had never been so happy that his face was so close to yours because you placed a kiss on his lips as you both danced.

The man’s face went bright red, but he reciprocated the display of affection tenfold, happy that you were his.

Once you pulled away, you smiled and asked, jokingly, “Do you think we convinced everyone that there is a feeling of goodwill between our schools?”

There were a few failed attempts just an hour ago, where somehow, Grim managed to wrap himself entirely in wrapping paper. You had to take the time to unwrap him, and you made a joke about how he was your present this year, and he acted annoyed at it. However, he did appreciate the strokes to the fur on his back, as it did feel nice after being rubbed the wrong way by the paper.

Anyway, you finished up the final gift and you let out a happy sigh, leaning backward to pop your back, neck, and stretch your arms and legs. A groan made its way out of your mouth as your muscles were wailing with relief after being stuck, hunched over in a criss-cross-applesauce for an hour.

However, you felt a paw tap you on the foot. You sat up and saw that Grim was looking down as he reached out his paws, a gift residing in them. On it was a name tag that said ‘Mama Henchman’. The package was wrapped rather poorly, but you loved the surprise all the same. You were actually close to tears as you gently took the gift from him, and started delicately unwrapping it.

Inside, there was a handmade keychain with his and your first initials. It was kind of like a miniature bracelet, and the color was a mix of shades of blue beads. Tears started falling as you quickly hugged Grim, overcome with joy and gratefulness. 

“Hey let go of me-” His face got buried into your chest as you just held him in your arms.

“Thank you so much, Grim. You have no idea what this means to me,” You pulled away, making sure he could breathe.

You got up and walked to the counter where Grim’s present resided. It was wrapped elegantly in blue wrapping paper, a decorative ribbon sitting on top of it. You handed it to him, and he ripped it open to reveal three cans of fancy tuna.

As much as he wanted to deny it, he did, in fact, cry because of your thoughtfulness.

“That is not how the tutorial said to fold it!” Ace shouted at Jack, who was minutes away from using the tape to shut his mouth.

“Yes it is, Trappola! You just weren’t paying attention!” He barked back.

Yandere Malleus with a bubbly reader is a very entertaining combo

Entertaining cause the both of you probably aren't even aware about Malleus's yandere tendencies - I think he probably won't even know its a "bad" thing and just list it as part of his own nature

One such example could be when your shoe laces came off, and some nice guy in the school decided to help you tie them since you were carrying heavy books

Malleus had caught sight of the guy kneeling down to help you tie your shoe lace and oh boy, he was furious, thinking that it's a human courting ritual. And the guy looked like he was proposing to you too, is he trying to take you away from him??

He immediately appears in front of you, giving his hardest glare to the poor guy who was already trembling in fear in Malleus's presence before running off to god knows where

"Hey tsunotarou!" Forgetting about the guy, you turn to look at your crush who has already kneeled down in front of you to retie your shoe laces, casting a simple cleaning spell to rid off any "dirt" on your shoes

"My dear, are you okay? That previous guy looks dangerous. He might harm your feet when he was touching you just now." The reasoning doesn't even makes sense, but the only thing that registered into your head was his given nickname to you

Your face turn into a deep shade of red, thinking that maybe, perhaps, Malleus likes you back? He was even worried about you getting hurt!

"Im okay thanks to you now, Malleus!" You grinned, tip toeing to give Malleus a quick peck on his cheek.

If you were any observant, you would have noticed the tip of Malleus's ears turning red. Unfortunately for you, he is good at masking his expressions, so you can't really tell if you made the right move. However, the hum of approval coming out from him means he doesn't mind the kiss, right?

You have no idea how Malleus went back to his room that night, determined to not wash his face just so that he could your "kiss". He was even willing to cast a protective spell on his cheek to keep it permanently there if not for Lilia's persistent nagging.

He was fine with it at first, thinking that he could perhaps get another kiss from you

However, he was furious when he saw you whispering something into one of your friend's ears.

Why are you so close to them? Your lips are almost touching their ears, do you plan to give them a kiss too?

If he can't keep your kiss, then he will make it so that you can't give your kiss to anyone other then him.

He does the same thing again, teleporting beside you and giving a cold yet deadly glare to your friend, silently asking them to stay away from you.

You were obviously surprised when you friend suddenly backed away from you, running off to the opposite direction from you.

The surprised turned into shock when Malleus leans down and asked you what's wrong. His hot breath fanning over your ear, sending chills down your spine. He was just tryna see how you would react to him doing what you did to your friend.

Was delighted to see your flustered face, especially when your sweet and kissable lips says his name and sparkle eyes looking up at him, the ones he loves to stare at so much.

"That friend of yours was about to hit you, so I thought that I should come and save you."

"Thank you, Malleus! You are the best!" You wrap your small arms around his stiff body, squeezing it to givehim a hug.

Malleus starts thinking that he might faint right there and then from how happy he is.
