2. I have a little sister. I would do anything for her, kill for her, die for her. I love her more than anything, but no, I’m not sexually attracted to her. For one thing, we exist in the real world, Sam and Dean exist in a fictional world so already the rules for them are different than they are for us. We didn’t grow up in a transient, drifter lifestyle where we learned the only people we could count on is each other. We had other friends, other family, other relationships that formed over the years. Sam and Dean didn’t have that as children; they only had each other. All of that was framed by John (and Dean’s) paranoia over the Supernatural world and what it had done to their mother, so they were even more close-knit .Hell, they didn’t know about the damn Roadhouse until after their dad died, even though Ellen knew of them. They only had each other as they grew up. They were everything to each other. That is not true for most siblings. 

3. Yes, incest is illegal. Again, we are talking about Sam and Dean existing in a fictional world where the supernatural exists. In their world, they care fuck all about what’s legal and what’s not. Credit card scams, hustling, grave desecration, arson, murder (!!!)– all things the Winchester bros engage in often. 

4. “Why do you ship it when it’s clearly a strong brotherly relationship?” Uh, you answered your own question there, buddy. Also, not all “Wincest” shippers ship them in a sexual way. For instance, I keep my canon and fanon firmly separate. Do I think they’re gonna makeout on the show? Uh, no. I don’t even want them to, because Supernatural is NOT A ROMANCE SHOW. I value their relationship for what it is, and frankly, it’s damn near perfect just like that. I don’t need canon Wincest. I swoon and cry and sigh lovingly watching them cup each other’s faces, touch each other’s hair, cling to each other, etc. Watching them need each other is what I want. I don’t want it to be more than a strong “brotherly bond,” but I’m sorry anon, I don’t know any RL brothers who act like Sam and Dean do. Their relationship transcends family, romance, etc. It’s MORE than that. If you saw RL brothers acting “psychotically, irrationally, erotically codependent” you’d probably think incest, too. Don’t even get me started on their soulmate status.

5. To end this, I ship Wincest because it’s the most fulfilling, beautiful relationship I’ve come across in the 15 years I’ve been involved in fandoms. I don’t need it to be more than it is, but damn, Sam and Dean Winchester are two beautiful men, and I just don’t understand why people screech “INCEST!!!” like this is some real world shit. They hunt monsters, for god’s sake. Suspending our belief of how the real world works is the damn essence of the show. 

PS– I think the ship name, ‘Wincest,’ unfairly puts people immediately off. I know it did me at first, because it has the word ‘incest’ right smack in the middle. Too late now, but that’s okay.

And at the end 

10 to 12 episodes. Back to its roots, hunting monsters. Nothing apocalyptic but a contained, clean, old school hunt for a monster that’s killing people.

Sam and Dean on the road, hitting a small town, saving people. Sort of like a MotW but with more build up and detail. Dark. Things take place at night. Kripke era horror show feel. Bro feels. Reading and researching Bobby’s books. Very little magic, lots of hand to hand combat. Playthings and Red Meat.

I mean, come on, did you really think it was going to be any other way?

No matter which way you slice it, Sam and Dean loved each other more than anyone else in the universe. They chose each other over friends and family and romantic partners, and yes, they choose each other over angels too 😉
