oh wow i might need to tap in these heated rivalry canadian waters i was an 1d shipper blogger after all

i’ve decided to come back to tumblr bc i saw a screenshot of a post on here actually praising being ir ur 30s and i’m tired of being called unc

there just comes a time when u stop clicking on an 1d member’s name when it comes up on twitter’s what’s happening

from 2012 to 2014 i’d wake up everyday and see a new paparazzi picture captioned as “niall seen in” or “harry arrives at” to the point where it became ordinary and part of my routine, so it just feels insane to read “niall, louis, zayn and harry arriving at liam’s funeral” under a paparazzi shot of them

“liam payne was an abuser who deserved to die” is really just the other side of the coin for “liam payne fell into drug addiction after spending his teen years being abused and sucked dry for profit by the industry”. complex and nuanced situations and/or people get distorted and compacted into a single label, which is to be used not only to determine who is worthy of compassion, but also to sinalize people with shared opinions. and this kind of behavior is sooooooooooo anti-intellectual and, frankly, unchic... like girl you do NOT know all that

apart from all the self-centered confusion of not knowing how to respond to a situation like this, i think that what also contributes to all of it feeling so surreal and dreadful at the same time is how much sensitive information is being released and spread in an incendiary manner

wow has anybody else seen the news 

i do believe a tumblr revival is imminent thanks to its uncharacteristic balance between privacy (you can’t really be perceived as anything other than an online figure) and reach potential (you can still obtain attention). we’re still gonna need one direction though
