Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful for one direction and I’m sure the boys are grateful for their life of luxury but imagine having your whole future decided for you at 16. Where you’re going to be, what you’re going to do, even what you’re going to wear, who you can be seen with, when you can see your family, etc. I mean think about it, they were all scrutinized about how they looked at Liam’s funeral years later. The media couldn’t even leave them alone one day to grieve the loss of a friend.

I hate that it took me this long to see that they were all just kids who wanted to sing and share their gift with the world, but it spun out of control.

Harry was right to ask for a break and pursue his solo career

Louis was right to be upset about the end of the band

Zayn was right to put his mental health first and leave

Louis was right to hold a grudge against Zayn

Zayn was right to not tell anyone about his departure because he knew he had to walk away in that moment

Harry was right to be scared to officially ask for a break

Liam (whether you believe what’s been said about him or not) needed help

In one way or another all five boys were victims of this industry, the only reason they even stayed for five years and tried to put on happy faces was for us.
