You don’t really remember how you ended up getting the job.
You just knew the economy is going to shit, much to your dismay. You were an adult and life as an adult isn’t what it’s cracked up to be, especially when you’re in a world that has heroes, vigilantes, and villains that pop a perc and run around causing havoc.
Just like many other people in the country, you’re applying to several jobs a day and receiving multiple rejection emails almost daily. However, you decided to run around Gotham with your applications after moving here. The hiring manager in front of you was skimming your resume, nodding along and telling you they were impressed, which felt like a small personal victory to you!

Her eyebrows were raised like she already knew you were regretting the relocation.
“You should’ve just come with me to Metropolis, I don’t know why you decided to end up in Gotham, New Jersey. For god sake's, have you seen the crime rate!?” You snort, rolling your eyes.
“I’d rather see dumbass people try to get into my nice apartment and not my whole ass apartment blown away by some creature from another planet—”
“Oh please! At least one of them erases the problem easily!” You frowned at that.

“Doesn’t Metropolis rip in half like every once a month—” Chelsea cut you a look through the screen, lifting her mug like she was preparing to smack you with it through FaceTime. Her expression said don’t even start, which you replied with your hands up in surrender, your spatula raised with it.
“Where’d you even apply, anyways?”
You shrugged and kept stirring your food. “I don’t even know. I applied to a bunch of companies, but I think the interview I actually went to was at Wayne Enterprises.”

“We had to strap him to a bed. Full head spin. Latin chanting. He spoke in seven different voices— none of them his. One of them was an elderly Italian man who’s been dead since 1842.”
She looks absolutely sick to her stomach.

“I didn’t know you could get sick.” Damian groans dropping his phone mid-way through the threat he was typing to look over at the big oaf squeezing through his bedroom window.
“I barely coughed.”
He says, even while knowing his scratchy voice gives him away instantly. You hop off the bed to take the heated blanket Jon offers and lay it over your grumbling boyfriend.
“He’s been sniffling and coughing all day, but I finally got him to take some meds.”
“Which was a waste because I have the immune system of a-”
His sentence is cut off when Jon sits on the bed --his weight dipping the mattress almost comically-- and leans over him to place a hand on his head. Damian lays there frozen and Jon, oblivious as always, gives a hum.
“You're burning up, and your heartbeat is faster than usual. Seem pretty sick to me.”
You snicker from behind Jon, watching your boyfriend’s flustered face turn into a scowl. He huffs and turns over so he doesn’t have to face either of you.
Jon gives you a concerned look and you only shrug, crawling into bed next to your lover and getting comfy under the sheets.
“Now that you’re here, you can help me keep him in bed, so he actually gets some rest.”
You prop your head up on your hand and softly poke at Damian’s face, watching his sharp eyebrows scrunch and his lips pout. In all your years dating him, he’s only gotten sick a few times and every time rendered him an irritable, miserable mope of his former slightly less-irritable self.
“Right. Good idea.”
Jon slips off his shoes and then his shirt and then reaches for the button of his jeans. You pat Damian on the shoulder to make him roll on his back so you’re both watching the half-kryptonian, neither saying a thing lest he stop halfway through shoving his pants off.
It's only when he's hopping around with his jeans stuck on his ankle that Damian speaks.
“What are you doing?”
Jon pauses, looking up at you both, his glasses askew. “I can’t sleep in outside clothes.”
You meet your boyfriend’s eyes for a silent moment.
"Ah, of course.” “...Obviously.”
You both telepathically decide not to mention the fact that he could just go fetch his own pajamas in Metropolis and be back in a second, or that he has extra pj's in your drawers from the other times he's slept over.
He places his glasses on the bedside table and clambers onto Damian's other side, spooning the former vigilante from behind while you keep him snug to your chest. You take a few moments to shuffle around and get comfortable before settling into a quiet, calm state of existence.
Your legs are an incomprehensible tangled mess, Jon's arm rests under your head and Damian rests his head in your warm chest, all kept close together by Jon's strong arm reaching over Damian and resting on your lower back. The faint sound of Gotham traffic a few stories down and slow breathing is all that fills the room.
Your fingers lightly card through Damian’s dark hair, catching Jon’s lidded eyes.
“Thanks for coming, Jon.”
Damian gives the quietest, shortest little hum in agreement, shuffling back a bit so he’s closer to Jon’s chest, who pulls you closer in response, warm fingers lightly brushing where your shirt has ridden up and sending heat all the way up your spine.
“Don’t thank me.”
He gives a warm smile, and nuzzles a little closer to Damian, who shivers slightly, fingers digging gently into your waist. You realise it might be a little overwhelming for him to be squished in the loving embraces of the two people he-

You hide your grimace in your boyfriend’s hair, he hides his frustrated sigh in your chest.

The sun was blazing hot, the sand was worse, but neither could beat the sight of Damian Wayne stepping out of the waves; toned muscles flexing as he sweeps a hand through his wet hair, droplets slipping down his abs and past his swim trunks, his well-defined thighs flexing with the strain of stepping through wet sand.
Jon let himself stare longer than he usually would, only turning away when he hears you clear your throat. His neck snaps towards where you lie on your side next to him on the blanket you're sharing, giving him a smug look.
“Good view, huh?”
Jon’s eyes widen, flicking from you to your boyfriend and back to your growing grin.
“Yeah, we’re lucky the weather’s really great today and the waves! Nice waves!”
Your smile only gets more cat-like, but you hum in agreement.
“Very nice waves.”
You both silently watch Damian walk up to your little set up on the empty beach and collapse next to Jon, cocking his head at the man.
“Why is your face so red, Kent?”
The second man of steel stammers for an answer before you pipe up from his other side.
“Yeah, Jon? Did you put on sunscreen?”
"Uh, yeah. I mean, no. I don't really need-"
Before he can stammer any more, you're already getting your sunscreen out your beach bag and shuffling closer. His heart and stammering halt when you straddle his hips, uncap the tube and place a tiny pea of the white cream on your palm.
You take a little with your finger and dot some on his red cheeks and across the bridge of his nose while Jon tries desperately not to stare at your chest, including the faint love bites that travel down your swim top.
He can’t see Damian smirking at him, but definitely hears it in his voice.
“Didn’t know Kryptonian’s could get sunburnt.”
Before Jon can fumble through an answer, you pass the sunscreen to Damian.
“Well, he’s only half Kryptonition.”
Damian takes it and moves behind Jon to start massaging sunscreen into his tense shoulders. Jon clears his throat, avoiding your eyes.
"I didn't know you guys were so... sun conscious."
Your thumbs trace over his red hot cheeks, making him look you in the eyes.
"Only because we care about you.”
The sun reflects in his eyes, you feel his shoulders relax under your boyfriend’s skilled touch and his eyes ease shut as you rub soft circles on his red cheeks.
“I care about you guys too.“
You dip your head just a little closer, almost close enough to touch noses.
“You’re such good friends to me.”
You're glad his eyes are still closed so he can't see you deflate like a balloon. Damian's pained groan from behind him causes him to open his eyes again and give you a raised brow. You sigh, pat his shoulder and slip off his lap.

Jon blinks the haze away, the hushed conversation only barely registering in his mind.

“I know, but we can’t overwhelm him.”
“We won’t, we’ll explain-”
The conversation stops abruptly when the couch creaks with his weight as Jon adjusts his sore body.
He groans and stretches, wincing a little as his joints pop with the strain. He hears someone approach and feels fingers gently comb through his hair.
“Did you sleep well?”
He nuzzles into the touch, nodding his head with a croaky hum and mumbles something like, "HwamIhere?"
He hears your chuckle, the sound making him smile.
“You flew in here after a mission talking about an inter-dimensional imp or something and then collapsed on the couch. You looked pretty knocked up so we let you sleep and changed you out of your suit for you.”
He doesn't even register the last bit of that, too caught up on how disappointed his mom would be if she heard he barged into a friend's home and took up their space without even asking!
“I’m sor-”
You completely stop him in his tracks with a playful kiss in his forehead before he can finish.
“Don't apologize, Kent. We're glad you came to us.”
You grab his wrists and pull him up off the couch.
“Dami’s almost got dinner ready.”
Jon's never heard a better sentence in his life. He hangs weightlessly on your shoulders as you walk over to the kitchen so he doesn’t have to use his still unconscious legs.
You lean against the kitchen counter and Jon’s head leans against your shoulder as you both watch your lover in his element. You can help but smile, remembering how awful he was at cooking or really any house chores when you started dating.
“If you two would stop gawking and set the table, that would be helpful.”
You both huff in amusement, but do as told. Jon floats over to the cupboard, taking out three bowls and placing them on the counter.
“Come and taste this.”
Jon floats over to Damian, who holds out a steaming spoon for him. Jon slips at the soupy contents and lets out a moan. Damian scoffs, eyes rolling but smile unhidden. He lifts Jon's chin slightly,
“Good?”
Jon’s eyes widen a little but he nods wordlessly and Damian gives a short hum before turning back to his stove. The half-kryptonian speeds over to help you set up the table as Damian finishes up the rest of the food.
Soon, all three of you stuffing your faces with soup and buttered bread sticks. Both you and Damian can tell there's something on your friend's mind by how quiet he is. He only speaks after his second serving, swirling his bread stick in his almost empty bowl.
“So uh, I have a date.”
Neither you nor Damian react immediately, save for the look you throw each other from across the table. You pipe up with a smile you hope looks more genuine than it feels.
“That’s great! Do you think it’ll go well?”
Damian rolls his eyes as if to say, "Real subtle." and you shoot him a glare.
“Well, he’s nice and I think he’s into me.”
He hears Damian scoff and mumble, “Nice?” under his breath. He also hears you kick his foot under the table.
“If you’re nervous, we could join you. For emotional support.”
You shrug as if it’s a normal thing to bring your two best friends along for a first date. He rubs the back of his head.
“Thanks, but I think you guys scared away my last date.”
You scoff awkwardly, Damian doesn't look up from his soup.
“What? That’s ridiculous.”
“She wasn’t worthy.”
You glare at Damian from across the table and Jon just gives you a raised brow, gesturing to your boyfriend.
“Okay, fine. But it’s just because we want the best for you.”
You place your hand in his, giving him a very cautious smile.
“Because we love you.”
Damian gives a short nod down at his soup and Jon feels his heart warm and his cheeks flush.

The moon is high in the sky, a random movie is playing on the tv, and Jon has once again found himself stuck snuggly between his two best friends.

Damian’s on his other side, arms crossed, thighs spread apart lazily. Jon’s been trying not to stare at where his pajama shorts have ridden up, the heat of his skin burning where his thigh presses against Jon’s. His head tips back against the couch, lidded eyes gazing at the screen with a bored look.
Safe to say, Jon can’t seem to focus on anything going on in the movie. Especially not when your fingers idly trace up and down his forearm like that.
“so... how did your date go?”
It’s quiet for a moment as Jon thinks up a proper answer. He shrugs,
“It was nice.”
It’s always just nice, if even that.
That might not have been the proper answer because he can feel both of you looking at him and then look at each other and then look at him again. He hates it when you do that, it makes him feel more left out than if you guys just kissed in front of him. Not that he thinks about that often.
Damian shuffles a bit at his side, his arms flex ever so slightly as he readjusts.
“What happened?”
He’s trying to sound nonchalant but both Jon and you know how protective he can be and how out of hand that can get. Jon shakes his head and answers a little too quick.

He shoves his hands in his lap, keeping his eyes on the screen. There’s another short silence and Jon just knows you’re doing the couple telepathy thing again.
You take one of his hands in yours, in the gentle way you always do.

He stared at your teary eyes "okay maybe I'm not okay.. take me to your house and help me clean this?" You nod and lead him as you have him your face towel to hold on his own cheeks, when you get home your mom greeted you and then saw Luka "oh my.. what happened" you were about to explain when he interrupted "it's my fault aunty I wasn't looking at the road I accidentally trip and fall scratching my face" your mother was talking about something and the just nodded, you kissed your mother's cheek then went up to the bathroom
He sat down on your toilet lid and took the betadine and patch, you cleaned it first seeing the wound was deep and it was all your fault, you did that, you started to tear up again and he just stared. He stayed up till dinner "you know you could sleep here Luka, I've just cleaned the guest room" your mother suggested but you didn't like it, you want him to be away for now, Luka noticed and shooked his head making you breathe freely.
"be careful Luka." You said standing by the door he nod "get well (name) and please if there's any trouble I'm here... I don't wanna see you suffer alone" he put his hand on your shoulder as you brush it away, he felt strange that you keep rejecting all his affection. He smiled weakly and walked away, you freeze then went up, you cleaned your bathroom but stared at the tissue full of blood, you did that, you were the cost of the injury, you hurt people
You ran up to your room and sat on the bed zoning out then looked at your bag, you open it and there it was the scissors that made Luka bleed to his cheeks, you curse at yourself he was trying to help you but you keep pushing him away thinking someone was better with him.
You cried as your white bedsheet were starting to become red. You were in so deep, you thought this was punishing yourself, you did this to yourself it hurts... You want to stop but remembered what you did, you deserve this. It's all your fault, your eyes blurry, your parents sleeping peacefully while you were creating a peace between your pain and suffer, you carried yourself to the bathroom feeling dizzy and lightheaded. You sat at the bathtub opening the shower with warm water, the water paints red just like when you painted with Luka, you sat there and suddenly felt sleepy, you sat there Peacefully and the last person that came on your head was not Luka but the midnight hair girl.
Your mother's screams and crying are filled the room looking at your place skin as she called for your father, he immediately took you out of the bathtub and listen to your heart, you were still alive, your mother covered her mouth then looked at your wrist and she collapse on the floor "oh baby, I'm sorry mommy failed to protect you..."
Your mom took a bandaid as your dad carried you to the car, your mother was sitting on the back with you as she wrapped the band aid around your wrists and red was starting to paint it making her cry. She usually sit at the front as you sang along to whatever song was on your father's radio, you would hate seeing your mother cry. And even if you tried to fly away you still hurt people. What ever you do you always hurt people. You might be laughing right now if you saw your dad's face, it was scrunch up and crying, you never saw him cry he never did atleast you thought so
You weren't waking up "(dad's name)! They are not breathing! Speed up please!" Oh you would hate hearing that, you wanna catch your mother's tears, you always love your mothers laugh and smile.

Most of the time when someone dies they put tribute on that persons desk, but once you open the door there was no picture, no flowers or anything
you stared in belief, and then you glance at your other friends sure enough those three saw kenny die right
You sat on the front side while listening to them not so far away, but you didn't hear any conversation about dying, they couldn't focus on the lesson
When the bell ring you stand up and walked to Kyle, if you were wrong you don't want to be awkward but with kyle you're kind of comfortable

"get rid of him! Don't let him ruin your plan, don't you wanna be with him forever? Then do as I say and get me my miraculous" you stared as Luka beneath the veil and get him off of you softly you didn't want to hurt him
Luka noticed this as you shrill making cat noir cover his ears and Luka was put aside you were running towards cat noir when ladybug caught you and threw you, this irritates hawkmoth
"thank m'lady, I should be your knight and shining armor but this works...say you looking finner today" ladybug rolled her eyes and poke cat noir "enough of that lets focus on that!"
You stared at their interaction and it makes you angry, when you were being beaten up you step back and ran away making a distraction outside, any couples you see makes you irritated so you separate them as the red glow more underground
Cat noir and lady bug followed you, ladybug called back up and veperion came. "Veperion we need you for this, we will look where the heartquakes akumatize, if we fail were doomed.. they can get our miraculous fast, so when I take each of their things and it's not the akuma reverse the time" veperion nod as cat noir and ladybug fought, veperion use his waves against your own waves
When you slam your cane ladybug's attention caught it she aim for your cane and when she took it and break it nothing happened but now you pinned her and create a massive earthquake and was already ready to take the earrings but veperion uses his second chance
Veperion shooks his head and said it's not the cane then they tried again, the hat, cat noir took your hat as you shrill hiding your face when there was nothing covering your face, you had a midnight hair just like marinattes color
Luka noticed this and quickly knew who that was "(name)?.." when Marinette tore up the hat there was no akuma and you quickly got cat noir as you caught his hands because his foot was stuck in the cracks and the ring was slowly getting off when veperion uses his second chance again and again and again but they can't find where the akuma is
Then veperion suddenly noticed that the ground glow more red, he pointed this out and ladybug uses her lucky charm, it was a rope.
She used your cane and the rope she had an idea the akuma was here under ground while cat noir and veperion fight you off ladybug found it, there was a big heart that is glowing red and a rose pin was stuck on it
"heartquake ladybug found your secret, get her or you'll never get your love again!" You shrill and cried as you tried to follow her but veperion came "easy now... Please calm down" when you create a big earthquake veperion shouts "stop it (nickname)!" This made the ground still as you stare at veperion, that was the nickname Luka gave to you, ladybug take this advantage and break the pin
This made hawkmoth more angry as the window shut tight.
You were there crying as your heart still feels heavy veperion excused himself and he transform as he was and ran up to you "(nickname) are you okay?.." you stared at him as your heart hurt "I'm sorry.. I got too far.."

When you reached him, his gloved hand found yours immediately. “You are—” he began, but words failed for a fraction of a second. Damian Wayne rarely stumbled over words. But tonight, the sight of you was enough to rob him of composure. “—utterly, sinfully exquisite.”
You smiled faintly, tilting your head, your voice a low purr. “Careful, my love. You’ll make me blush. And we wouldn’t want that, would we?”
His lips curved. “On the contrary, I find the idea thrilling. I would flay the stars themselves if they dared outshine that blush.”
Across the room, Tim choked on his drink.
“Are they—are they okay?” he muttered, glancing at Dick, who was watching with a mixture of amusement and mild alarm.
“Define okay” Dick said under his breath.
Bruce, ever stoic, merely exhaled through his nose and muttered something that sounded suspiciously like, ‘I should’ve known she’d encourage this side of him.’
But you and Damian didn’t care. You moved through the party like a dark waltz, two shadows perfectly synchronized. You laughed quietly at the way his fingers lingered at the small of your back, how his gaze burned when someone else dared to compliment you.
When one of the Gotham socialites, a man too bold for his own good, approached with a champagne glass and a smile that reeked of entitlement, Damian’s jaw tightened.
“Miss, I must say, you look—”
“Careful” Damian interrupted smoothly, his tone dangerously polite. “You are addressing my heart in human form. Choose your words wisely.”
You laid a hand on his arm, eyes glinting with amusement. “My darling, do behave. We wouldn’t want to make a scene.”
He turned to you, lowering his head so that his lips brushed your ear, his voice a dark whisper that made your pulse flutter. “But you know how much I enjoy making scenes with you.”
“Mm” you replied softly. “And I enjoy watching you try to restrain yourself.”
Tim groaned from the bar. “They’re flirting or threatening to kill each other, I can’t tell anymore.”
“It’s both.” Cassandra said simply, sipping her drink, eyes twinkling with quiet amusement. “They like the tension.”
And oh, there was tension. The kind that lingered in every word, every glance, every subtle touch.
Later that evening, after the guests had begun to drift away and the music had softened to a ghostly hum, you and Damian found yourselves alone on the grand balcony overlooking the manor gardens. The moonlight painted your faces silver, your shadows intertwined across the marble.
He stood behind you, arms circling your waist, his chin resting against your shoulder. His voice was low, smooth as smoke. “You know,” he murmured, “if I could trap this night in a bottle, I would keep it, so I could watch you haunt it forever.”
You turned slightly, smiling with that soft, dangerous affection that only he ever saw. “And what would you do, my love, if I refused to be trapped?”
He smirked faintly, his lips brushing the curve of your neck. “Then I’d follow you into whatever chaos you created. Torture me if you must, but I would die before I let you go.”
“Mm. Such devotion. You almost sound sincere” you teased, though your voice softened at the edges.
“I am” he said simply. “You are my chaos. My muse. My destruction. And I have never been happier to be undone.”
Your heart stuttered, just once, before you turned in his arms to face him. The look you shared could have set the night on fire. His hand came up to cradle your jaw, thumb brushing your lower lip as if memorizing the shape of your smirk.
“And you,” you murmured “are my favorite mistake.”
He laughed quietly, a deep, genuine sound that vibrated through his chest. “Then I’ll make sure you never regret it.”
When he kissed you, it was slow and consuming, the kind of kiss that made time bend. The wind caught the edges of your gown, and for a moment, the two of you looked carved from the same shadow, two beautiful, terrible creatures perfectly matched.
Down below, Dick whispered to Tim, “They talk about torturing each other like it’s foreplay.”
“Because it is for them.”
Inside, Alfred simply sighed. “At least Master Damian has found someone who shares his… intensity.”
Back on the balcony, Damian broke the kiss only to rest his forehead against yours, whispering with that familiar mix of reverence and wickedness, “Cara mia, you drive me to madness.”
You smiled, eyes half-lidded, your tone a dark velvet. “And yet, you never seem to mind.”
“I never will.” he promised. “If madness means you, I’ll embrace it.”
You reached up, fingertips tracing the line of his jaw. “Then perhaps, my darling, we should let the night swallow us whole.”
He took your hand, pressing a kiss to your knuckles. “After you, my love. Always after you.”
And as the last candle flickered inside the Manor and the moonlight bathed you both in silver, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only two souls hopelessly, beautifully, dangerously entangled in their own brand of devotion.
Somewhere inside, Dick muttered, “Okay, they’re terrifying.”
But Damian only smiled against your lips and whispered one last thing meant only for you.
“Let them be afraid, beloved. They’ve never known a love worth fearing.”
The morning after the Wayne Halloween Gala, Gotham was still sleeping under a soft layer of fog, but Wayne Manor was already awake, or at least trying to be. The sun hadn’t even fully breached the skyline when the first voices began to drift through the manor halls, carrying the familiar mix of amusement, exasperation, and barely concealed disbelief that only the Batfamily could muster.
In the kitchen, Alfred was serving breakfast with his usual composure, the calm eye in a storm of chaos. Bruce sat at the head of the table, stoic as ever, reading something on his tablet. To his right, Dick was stirring his coffee like a man trying to dissolve confusion instead of sugar, while Tim was slouched halfway over the counter, dark circles under his eyes. Cass was perched cross-legged on the countertop, nibbling toast and looking entertained by everything.
And then, the door opened.
Damian walked in, pristine as ever, wearing a dark turtleneck under a sharp vest, his posture perfect, his expression unreadable. You followed a step behind him, dressed in black silk pajamas with a long robe trailing after you, looking like you had stepped straight out of a dream, or a victorian ghost story. Your hair was still loose, and your expression was calm, collected, and faintly amused.
The entire table froze.
“Morning” you said, your voice smooth as honey and just as dangerous.
“Good morning” Alfred replied warmly, unfazed, sliding a cup of coffee toward you as if he’d been expecting you to descend from the shadows at any moment.
Damian, meanwhile, moved with calculated ease to pull your chair out before you sat down.
He didn’t even ask. Just the smallest, quietest gesture of devotion. When you thanked him, his lips brushed your knuckles in a manner so natural it made Tim blink.
Dick leaned toward Tim. “Okay, so… this is serious, right?” he whispered.
Tim just stared. “Serious? Dick, she literally called him her ‘little fiend’ last night in front of Bruce.”
Damian’s head tilted slightly. “I can hear you.” he said without looking up, his tone calm but edged with threat.
You smirked faintly, glancing at the boys. “He does have excellent hearing, darlings. Be careful, mockery is such an unattractive trait.”
Cassandra bit back a laugh behind her mug. “You’re fun.” she said softly, grinning.
You raised your brow with a smirk. “So I’ve been told.”
Bruce finally lowered his tablet, sighing in that way that said he’d already accepted this chaos as part of his life. “Damian.”
“Yes, Father?”
Bruce’s jaw flexed. “Explain.”
Damian folded his napkin neatly. “Explain what, exactly?”
“This.” Bruce gestured vaguely between you two, as though your entire existence as a couple defied the laws of his understanding. “You two spent the entire night talking about torturing each other, you scared at least five donors into leaving early, and at one point, someone swore they saw you carve your initials into her wine glass.”
“I was marking my territory.” Damian said evenly.
Tim dropped his fork. “You what—”
You reached over, calm as a cat, resting a hand on Damian’s arm. “He was being sweet” you said, smiling just enough to make Tim visibly shiver.
“He told me he wanted to leave a mark that would last longer than the glass itself.”
Dick blinked slowly. “Okay, that’s… definitely poetic. In a kind of please-don’t-kill-me way.”
“She inspires poetry.” Damian said without shame, tone smooth and absolute.
Cass was clearly enjoying every second of this. “He’s obsessed.” she said matter-of-factly, sipping her tea.
Damian turned to her with no hesitation. “I am. Entirely. And why should I not be?”
You smiled at him, softly this time, dangerously, with that slow, magnetic pull that could bend anyone weaker than him to your will. “You do have a talent for devotion, my love. It’s almost frightening.”
“Almost?” he murmured, lips curving. “You wound me.”
Tim leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. “I’m sorry, I just, Damian, why is it always the goth girls? Every single time. Why do you keep going after the ones who look like they could literally stab you?”
Damian’s expression didn’t flicker. “Because,” he said smoothly, “I respect a woman capable of killing me.”
Dick spat his coffee. “I’m sorry, what?”
Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose. “He’s his mother’s son” he muttered.
You smirked, tilting your head, your voice a whisper of silk. “Oh, he’s safe. Mostly.”
“Mostly?” Tim echoed, his voice breaking an octave higher than usual.
You sipped your coffee delicately. “I only draw blood when I’m bored.”
Cassandra snorted into her toast.
Damian turned his head toward you, a flicker of adoration and pride in his eyes. “You see why I adore her.” he said simply. “She’s chaos dressed in couture.”
You hummed contently. “And you, my darling, are the storm I always hoped to weather.”
The rest of the table just stared.
Dick whispered to Bruce, “You think this is like… healthy?”
Bruce didn’t even look up. “For them? It might be the healthiest thing Damian’s ever done.”
Tim groaned. “Okay, but what happens if they break up?”
Cassandra shrugged. “Someone dies.”
“That’s not—” Tim started, then stopped. “Actually, that’s probably accurate.”
You turned your head toward them with that serene, unblinking calm. “We don’t intend to part” you said softly. “There’s something quite eternal about our kind of madness.”
“Eternal.” Damian echoed, his voice dropping lower, like a promise. “And mutually destructive, if we’re fortunate.”
Bruce exhaled sharply. “Please don’t say that with a smile.”
But Damian did smile, that rare, dangerous curve of his lips that carried something almost feral underneath. “Don’t worry, Father. She’ll kill me with affection, not blades.”
“Only if you behave” you murmured, brushing your fingers down the back of his neck.
Tim set down his coffee, defeated. “You two are… something else.”
“Thank you.” you both said at the same time, voices perfectly in sync.
Dick looked between you and Damian, then grinned helplessly. “Okay, but admit it, they’re kinda perfect for each other.”
Cass nodded. “It fits. He needed someone like her.”
Bruce groaned quietly into his coffee. “God help us all.”
You leaned closer to Damian, your smile dangerous and affectionate all at once. “I rather think the opposite, darling. We’re far beyond help.”
Damian’s hand found yours under the table, fingers intertwining effortlessly. “Precisely why I love you.”
And the room fell silent again, not out of awkwardness, but because for a brief, haunting moment, they could see it: the way he looked at you like you were his religion, the way your smile softened just for him. It was dark, yes. Unconventional. A little terrifying. But it was real.
Dick finally broke the quiet. “You two are actually kinda… romantic, in a supervillain way.”
Damian turned his head slightly, lips curling. “Romance is a matter of perspective, Grayson.”
You smirked, raising your coffee cup in a mock toast. “To perspective, then. And to the art of loving dangerously.”
Damian clinked his glass softly against yours. “To us, beloved torment.”
“Always, my little fiend” you replied.
And as the others looked on, confused, amused, maybe even a little envious, it was hard to deny the truth of it.
Damian Wayne and the gothic woman at his side were like fire and smoke, like poetry and blades, two souls too intense for the world around them.
And for better or worse, Gotham was yours to haunt together.

You had always like luka, ever since they became friends with luka
The day you meet Luka you were so stress in school, you were always quiet and keeping yourself with you
Yes, you do talk to someone but you're not usually talkative.
You were starting to fall asleep in class and the teacher caught you making you stand Infront of the class, embarrassed and not making any eye contact with anyone
When the bell rang everyone got out of the classroom not looking twice towards you
You ran up to your chair to gather your stuff when somebody tap your shoulder
"hey, you seem to be in distressed, here" you looked at his hands and saw a chocolate "based on what I've read chocolate can make your day no matter what you're feeling"
You smiled and thank him "and by the way I'm Luka" he raised his hand up and you took it "(name), im (name)" with that small act of gratitude you met him
He was always there, he was your friend, your therapist, your crush. You've been crushing him since the beginning but you know full well he doesn't
Every song he wrote you know who he was mentioning but you tried to imagine he was singing it for you but you can't
Because it was never been about you, you were always with luka but everytime the conversation leads to her he rants it all out to you
You can't help but smile at him, can't help thinking about this girl how beautiful was she to have Luka fall over her, you never saw her around him
Till one day when you and luka are out he suddenly asked "oh and I invited someone, sorry for the late remainder, I hope it doesn't come offending" you laugh at him and say it's just fine
You both sat down on a bench talking about anything "hey wanna grab an ice cream, my treat, don't you think I forgot that I still haven't treat you " luka looked at you and chuckled "oh yeah"
He stands up and stand Infront of you, you saw him offering his hands, you cannot help but feel butterflies, you can feel yourself screaming inside your body
You took it and walk towards the cart "two ice cream please" you said to André he smiled "oh how I love how love birds fly together not minding the world around them"
You felt your cheeks warm and smiled when you look back at Luka he didn't heard it, he was busy on his phone, oh yeah someone is coming "here" you handed it to him "thanks (name), you're the best" he took it as he put his phone away
When you took your phone out checking the time Luka left your side without you noticing and when you did you saw him buying another ice cream
When he walks back to you "oh I'm sorry I know you were supposed to treat me today but I wouldn't my friend to be left of on an ice cream" you shrug it off telling it's okay
And there it is, you heard someone calling for Luka, you looked behind Luka and saw the girl waving while running towards you and luka

"no no, were just hanging out, it totally fine" you retorted, you looked at her and was amaze by her beauty, she really is pretty

You looked at her then at Luka who looked at her like if he blink she would disappear "so where do you guys want to go?" You asked "how about we just get to know each other you know, I mean I know Luka a bit but I still haven't meet you so I wanna talk to you"
Luka's right she is sweeter and a candy. You smiled as the three of you talk and talk and talk.
After an hour "oh it's almost sunset I should get going" she said as they all stand up and gather your stuff
"see you again, (name), Luka was right you have a heart of gold" you remain silent and just smiled "oh and (name)" you heard Luka and turn your head towards him "you and Marinette's house are two separate ways, you wouldn't mind me walking her instead" right he wanted to be with her, not with you
"no Luka im fine seriously, you should go with them instead-" "I wouldn't mind, see you guys at school" Luka smiled and gave you a thumbs up like a friend who just help him get together with his crush

You sat on the edge of your bed, tears spilling before you could even stop them, wallowing in the cruel ache that twisted inside of you as you realized the person who once filled your thoughts and made your world feel brighter now looks at someone else with the same warmth you used to dream was meant for her
