i had a super SUPER productive morning and i was treating myself to the fancy shampoo (u know the shampoo u got as a gift that’s kinda expensive and v v Nice so u only use it when ur going out or have a social event going on?) and i came back to find a bunch of my mutuals reblogging the same post about hair, and i’ll be damned if i didn’t see that combination of events as some sort of sign! so here u go my dudes! another addition to the group! feel free to add “+ REVERSE” to switch the roles of this meme!

as always, DO NOT ADD TO THIS LIST! i’ll add to it as time passes! and i really hope you all enjoy this one bc i had a lot of fun making it! 

[ WASH ]:          sender begins to wash the receiver’s hair.

[ TUG ]:          sender grabs the receiver’s hair and pulls at it. ( SPECIFY A REASON! CONTEXT IS KEY! )

[ BRAID ]:          sender, sitting behind the receiver’s back, begins to braid their hair.

[ TOWEL ]:          the sender uses a towel to carefully dry the receiver’s hair.

[ DRY ]:          the sender uses a hairdryer to dry the receiver’s hair.

Sokka couldn't help but smile as she spoke. Every word settled somewhere deep in his chest, warm enough to chase away every lingering doubt he'd ever had. The idea that Ariel had once dreamed of the surface for its wonders but now dreamed of it because he was there left him almost speechless.

His thumb swept gently over the back of her hand. “You know,” he murmured, a quiet laugh escaping him, “I don't think anyone's ever said something that made me feel that...important.” He shook his head, his smile soft and a little bashful. “I'd love to show you all of it. Every beach, every forest, every little village with amazing food and wonderful people. I want to be there while you see it all for the first time.” The mention of her grotto earned an amused grin.

“You made me my own section? Wow. I knew I was charming, but I didn't realize I'd earned collectible status.” His laughter faded as he rested his forehead against hers, his arms settling comfortably around her waist. “I don't need it to go to my head,” he whispered. “Knowing there's a place in your world for me...that's more than enough. And for what it's worth...” He brushed another tender kiss across her lips. “If there was a way for us to just be together, I'd take it in a heartbeat.”

Ariel grinned warmly at Sokka. "Well you are important, Sokka. You're very important to me." She nodded along to the ideas. "Of course! I'd love that as well with you by my side. I wouldn't know anyone better than you, my warrior." She gently ran her thumb along his hand in return, feeling the warmth and dryness of his skin against hers. It still felt...right after all this time.

She hummed lowly as she pressed her forehead against his, eyes closing shut as she breathed him in. She kissed him just as tenderly against their lips. "There has to be a way. We will figure this out together."

❝ And here I thought mermaids were just myths. ❞ Elliott mused as he rowed up to the red haired woman's side.

Taking his boat out on a stroll out in the early morning, he thought it would be another eventless day of soaking up the sun's rays and hearing the ocean waves or the way his paddle glided through the water. It helped him relax and clear his mind before a big day of writing.

What he hadn't expected, was to see someone else in the water too. Especially so early in the morning when the water was far too cold, even for a surfer in a full bodysuit.

Instead, a flash of red hair had caught his attention and was cause to investigate. He'd never seen someone with hair more red than his. It was interesting enough for him to purposely seek them out. But what was even more interesting was seeing the flash of a tail out of the water and how she seemed so focused on whatever it was she found. Was she not careful enough to care about who could be around?

❝ That's not some kind of mermaid suit, is it? ❞ He asked, though the dark waters did hide what he was sure he saw, he could see some of the bright green coloration at her waist. Was she not freezing wearing nothing but a... bra? And a fake tail? If it was fake.

Ariel got startled as she heard a voice coming up from behind. The pendant she held fell back into the water as she sunk herself a bit more into the waves, hoping that maybe she wasn't being seen by someone let alone a human. Cereulean eyes looked at the small boat he was in and met him.

Oh he's...well...she never saw anyone who looked like him before. Let alone having a shade of red coloured hair albeit not as vibrant.

"What's a suit?" She asked with a tilt of her head as she realised her hand was empty. "Sorry, give me a moment." With that, she dove back underwater, her tail skimmed the surface in that vibrant green of hers. It took about thirty seconds before she resurfaced with the pendant in hand as she sat it by her bag. "I didn't see anyone else out here," Ariel spoke softly. "At least not by the edges of the surface. I--I probably shouldn't be seen by you."
