it truly is so funny that when I was 12 and read Drama by Raina Telgemeier my mom had a talk with me about how it's wrong to promote homosexuality and when I was 14 and came out to her she reacted with clear disappointment and when I was 15 she got mad at me for having a pride pin on my backpack and wouldn't let me buy a planner with a rainbow design on the cover (wasn't even a pride thing just a basic colorful design) and when I was 16 she threatened to confiscate my library card if I didn't "take a break" from reading any queer books for a six month period and when I was 19 she was upset to learn I had a girlfriend and then after ALL OF THAT. she was like "I think you think of me as being homophobic and I wish you wouldn't because it puts me in a box :(" LIKE GIRL. CAN WE BE SERIOUS
