Roleplaying is a collaborative storytelling and not some kind of player vs player, where we 'aha!' each other about all slip-ups. Discussing things ooc might be not to everyone's taste, but it certainly is not a mark of a bad roleplayer, and I am all for the ooc communication.

An electric whumpee becoming overcharged, their power starting to burn through them. Whumper dares to push them further, and all that whumpee can do is beg for their life, not knowing what comes next.

Whumper with electrical powers doesn't need to do much to give whumpee a shock. They can however only use their magic so much, before getting tired themselves.

Whumpee's magic sparks up every time they experience excruciating pain. Maybe whumper is using this to power something. Maybe whumpee glows when they're in pain.
