“There’s this kind of whole long description of who he is but it’s a character and it’s a guy that kinda represents all the things that I as an individual but also everyone around me are insecure about. You know we’re all insecure at certain things and when I think about insecurities and my insecurities getting the best of me, the things that I think are kind of a feeling of suffocation and it also the things that I you know create with my hands, very insecure about what I create so my hands and my neck kinda represents who this Blurryface character is in this record, is manifested on stage and music videos, have like a black greasy look on the neck and on the hands and it’s just something that I came up with, very dramatic I know but it helps, it helps me kinda get into that character”

i had geoff and otto write this out for me at the atlanta show and after spending a good hour and a half trying to digitize it, i decided i wasn’t gonna hog it for myself. have fun with it!
