Actually on the topic of Megamind- I appreciate how much chemistry Roxanne has with Megamind right from the beginning. Having them fall in love and begin dating doesnt come as a surprise to anyone partly because the opening scene shows us they have a close relationship. Judging by the dialogue between Roxanne and Megamind (playful, informal, and responsive) and the dialogue between Roxanne and Metroman (professional, scripted) the audience already has a feeling for who Roxanne likes more. When Megamind seizes control of the city and begins trashing it, Roxanne isnt just grieving- shes disappointed. Juxtaposed to when they discover Metroman is alive and shes straight up mad. Roxanne always expected more of Megamind (because she understood his potential) and the reason their romance works so well is because Megamind wanted to meet her expectations and be the kind of person she was proud of.
