I love s7 Destiel because it really solidifies that Dean and Cas were a couple. Sam and Bobby were also friends with Cas, but when he dies, all they can think and talk about is how it affects Dean. They never say 'we miss Cas' it's 'Dean is taking Cas' passing really hard'. They act as if they barely knew Castiel while Dean has lost his partner. It's just always so interesting to watch people insist that there's nothing more between Dean and Cas then see how everyone treats their relationship on a completely different level from everyone else.
WHY DID THEY ALL DIE. that was UNACCEPTABLE and quite sad! the way they held hands and agreed to die??? NOOOOOOO!! and the kiss wasn't even a real kiss! what?? that was the one thing i wanted!!!! and the whole book shop meet cute thing felt like a consolation prize to me, like i need more than that. the marriage thing was sweet, and i really liked when human crowley said "i have everything i want' and they held hands and stuff, that was sweet. idk man i don't have a lot to say right now. i'm sure i'll have some more to yap about after i sleep. i need to sit with it for a while.

I am unsure if we have any links to birds other than preening and our wings...Although, Gabriel likes to perform for his "mates". I often imagine his antics as a form of courtship, as most birds have their "dances".
also, any critique i make of this show is purely my own personal opinion and is not meant as an attack on any individual or party. it does get political towards the end. while i do recognize that the boys is a piece of fiction, i also recognize the message it's trying to send and that pieces of fiction are influenced by and have an influence on the real world.
if you don't know, i'm a HUGE supernatural fan, and the entire reason i'm watching the boys is because i heard the three main actors would be working together again in the fifth season. maybe it was a little outrageous, but i was really hoping that the characters would be kind of important to the story so they could be around each other more. or at least be reoccurring characters, like with soldier boy. i can see why that's a lot to expect, especially in the final season but i had my hopes WAY UP so i suppose i was bound for disappointment. :/
i swear they got like ten minutes of screen time before they both died. this is a little bit TOO much like supernatural..
also, the vampire hunter movie poster in sam's mister marathon's office? real subtle, guys. (i loved it.) ALSO ALSO what kind of names are MISTER MARATHON and MALCHEMICAL?? okay, malchemical is kinda cool actually, but mister marathon? are we dead ahh? i love that malchemical's power is just that his breath is quite literally lethal ❤️
why is there a room filled with baby oil.
to that point, if mister marathon's ability is that he can run really really fast, why would you EVER have a room with bottles and bottles of baby oil. they literally point that out in the show!! soldier boy uses that to kill him!!! what!
i kinda feel like the writing has declined just a little, especially with soldier boy's dialogue. i think before, his whole demeanor was a little less on the nose, whereas now i end up taking him a lot less seriously. i don't know how i feel about firecracker getting the kind of redemption arc that she did, especially the way she frames her old church leader as a child groomer because she is a child groomer herself. but it goes to show that the writers are really good at creating complicated characters that make you feel complicated emotions. i think for just about every character in the show, you can make a compelling argument for why they're an awful, unforgivable character and a compelling argument for why they're not unforgivable, just flawed and that they're just doing their best with what they have. well.. mostly, anyway.
terror and his homelander chew toy made me uncomfortable, but i think that was on purpose. the boys is not a comfortable show.
the way they talk about 'starlighters' is so so deeply disturbing to me, especially considering how casually they discuss how they're being taken from their homes and either killed or sent to the freedom camps. anyone who doesn't see the direct parallels between these things and the way the current president is running the country is straight up delusional. i would even go as far as to say that the freedom camps we see in the show are actually better than the detention centers over in the US. they have access to food and water, as well as shelter. from what i saw, there didn't appear to be children there, but i can't say for sure. there's an outdoor area that they seem to have free access to, and hughie is even able to get away with having a pen and paper to write to annie. all of this is leagues above the situation in the US. i've talked about this before, but the freedom camps have the words 'freedom sets you free' above the entrance to the camp, which is a direct reference to the gate of one of Hitler's concentration camps, which had a sign reading: 'work sets you free' in german. if you read between the HUGE SPACES in the lines, the boys in not so discreetly discreetly pointing out the similarities between the detention centers in the US and Hitler's concentration camps during the Holocaust. WAKE UP AMERICA.

the gate to Auschwitz, a Nazi concentration camp that was known for being one of the worst camps of the Holocaust, had a gate with the words 'Arbeit macht frei' or roughly 'work sets you free' in english.
the 'freedom camps' homelander has is directly derived from Nazi concentration camps.
and what's worse? the detention centers that trump created are almost exactly the same as what we see in the boys.
