They will never admitted that they ARE the problem. That they have exactly the government that represents them because either the racism, or the misogyny, or the homophobia, or stupidity or entitlement, or (at it’s worst) a combination of multiple of those, that more than half of the population of the country holds makes it impossible for them to not be a dumpster fire of a country.

I love Matilda because it's a story about a child who sees injustice around her and gets mad about it and questions why things aren't fair, and instead of the ending being that she learns how the world works and that life isn't fair, she catapults one of the adults who abused her out of a building with her mind
