Luna- the best yellow dog

June 30, 2012 a gentleman came into Petsmart in Tinley Park and asked an associate to hold his puppy while he ran to check what food he needed, he never came back, the rescue group in store that day was full so I volunteered to bring this little yellow dog home to foster. She fit right in with Sadie, Sergio, and Bellatrix, quickly forming an alliance with Bella. Those three taught her all about being a great dog and having fun adventures. She even starred in a Petsmart video. In 2013 she moved to Wisconsin and continued to be the best dog. She loved to hike and follow along on trail rides with GC while simultaneously hunting mice with Sadie. She helped Remi join the pack when she came up to live with us and she helped me through the losses of Sadie, Sergio, and GC shortly there after. She adventured in brief apartment life with Remi, Draco, and later Millie. She thrived at the farm when the horses and later Homer got to come home and the chickens provided entertainment. She always loved spending her day (and sometimes weekend) sit with Mom Steph. She acquired many nicknames: looney tooney, noonie, tuna, yellow, shitbag, nooners. In 2021 she made her final move to Elroy with Remi, Draco, and Millie to live with Rain. Luna helped me say goodbye Homer and Remi in 2024. She got to see me live the life I’ve always wanted with some pretty special people. She traded sleeping by my side to the good legs of Dustin knowing he wouldn’t inconvenience her sleep. She was the fun police if the cats got too rowdy for her liking. She could always find a crumb and really worked you over for a small bite as she got older. She always loved adventure, rolling in poop, and the murder of small creatures. She was a tough little dog. Unfortunately cancer doesn’t care how good of a dog one is. It snuck up ungodly fast, but she got to have a couple good days. She got steak, she got her own hamburger, she got whatever she wanted because she deserved the world. It’s going to be hard to get through losing the one who got me through. I know some dogs up in heaven are going to be so proud of her for taking care of me and glad to see her again. I love you little dog, forever the best yellow dog.
