A moment to remember. A quick and sweet escape from the busy reality of life. I strongly believe that there are times where we need to have a break and experience other things to get current things in perspective. It varies to different people, we can opt not to splurge of course. Quality sleep is what I do most of the time. The important thing is to have that time to yourself to be reminded of the things you should be grateful for and plan the things that should be done next. Long post/kwento below. You’ve been warned.

Last June 7 marked my 5th year working in corporate. Yeyy!!! I started working a little younger than my batchmates and also had my fair share of waiting and failed interviews.

Time flies so fast. From being 19 years young, awkward, fresh grad, zero knowledge, younger than most of the interns, not sure on what to pursue after grad, afraid of failures, ngayon lang talaga nagsink in na di na ko fresh grad. Don’t get me wrong, one BIG challenge for me before was to establish myself as an independent, respected and trustworthy young professional. It’s a BIG world out there, OJT lang puhunan ko malay ko ba nun diba? Haha

So many things learned. Reminiscing having 5 birthdays celebrated with officemates (of course laughtersss included), spreadsheets became my bestie during reports, conquering fear of asking help and welcoming criticisms, learning the process, imbibing the culture of the company while not forgetting my values and the list goes on. All contributed to what am I today. Well, I’m still working on other things of course but you know, at least nag improve na. Zero knowledge no more but hungrier for more experience and learnings.

One the most I’m thankful for throughout these years is I’ve been blessed with good and intelligent bosses (good looking pa 😏). They’ve inspired me to do better everyday even upto now. You know that feeling where you want to be like them when you reached their age? How did they do that? #Goals Plus proactive teammates, good companies (well I just had 2 including where I work now), and good and challenging working environment. Other factors need to improve pa, no pun intended.

Thank You, Lord for sustaining me. 5 years, ang daming nangyari. I have not prayed for anything closer to this. Not even close to my “where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?” answers to interviews before. You let me do what I enjoy and passionate doing. Napagsabay si psych and creativity. You never fail to bring joy and peace in my heart and for always reminding me not to compare my milestones with others, to follow Your timeline for me. I’m forever grateful.

And to my family who supported my ‘independence’ season, for correcting me during pagkukulang (quality time) days, thank you.
