just got ep7 of tvl spoiled for me and it genuinely feels like this entire season has been used to humiliate and further torture louis (and by extension jacob?? )
i don't understand the plot, it's all over the place and is incredibly sloppy writing? that's not to say some details aren't nice but overall it just feels like the writers had their opportunity to be racist and anti-black as hell in certain situations/scenes and took it? i genuinely wont get over the slurs and racist shit they had claudia say? like i understand she's mad and saying inflammatory shit to be as hurtful as possible but it's just so?????? idk having her calling louis nappy headed when jacob had to find and pay someone to do his hair for this season is certainly a choice idk
another thing i don't understand is the glossing over terrible shit done to louis by lesmand but instead they're painting louis to be some violent pimp that doesn't care about anything or anyone? i said this to oomfs but louis feels like a cartoon character? he doesn't feel like himself at all and i understand that we're meeting a different louis and seeing him from lestat's pov at times too but ? i just don't understand the choices the writers have made at all genuinely. and i know that jacob himself commented on this on one of the interviews bc even he was like ??? this doesn't feel like louis and he called the writers/rolin out on how they're saying this and that is all bc of louis and his poor memory when in reality it's the writers developing things differently now which makes louis genuinely look like a liar at times
I also can't stop thinking about louis mentioning his experience of csa by a family member being played off as a joke and being brushed away? i think the writers genuinely got too big for their boots and wanted to include lots of details but their budget couldn't handle it and now the season is giving an ep of loony tunes
