it’s so invalidating. like, imagine you spend months, literal months, building a house, brick by painstaking brick, and some guy who’s never even seen a blueprint is like, “that’s not a house.” okay? what is it, then? a mirage? a conspiracy between me, my hippopotamus, and the laws of metaphysics?

why do people get so personally invested in it? what is it, some sort of moral panic? a suburban witch trial? “won’t someone think of the children” energy? and then they get all scandalised when i react. i’m sorry... you just accused me of fabricating an entire plane of existence and now you’re startled that i have feelings about it?

and beyond the outright denial, there’s the implicit insult. you’re telling me that a place that has held me, healed me, cradled me in its reality, was not ever something i visited.
