i have for a while been using stepping on somebody's toes as a metaphor for misgendering. and i genuinely think that it's kind of a good one.
if you keep stepping on somebody's toes for a long time at minimum they're probably going to start really hating you and at maximum you might cause them lasting damage.
if you do it on purpose you're a dick. if it's on accident but you keep doing it that person is still going to be mad at you because you don't care enough to try not to step on their toes
if you give a grovelling begging apology after accidentally stepping on somebody's toes one time you're going to make the whole thing awkward, but not giving a quick "sorry" before moving on is still kind of rude.

Any advice for drawing in general?
Practice whenever you can and study the work of artists you respect. Things like that style swap meme that went by recently are a great way to do that!
The looser and more relaxed your pen/brush/pencil strokes can be, the faster you will be able to work. Try and draw from the elbow rather than the wrist, if that makes sense.
5 minutes of concentrated practice every day will produce better and faster results than trying to draw for an hour and half once or twice a week. This goes for any artistic endeavor btw :3
Don’t be discouraged if progress is slow or if you hate what you are creating - just pivot and try a different approach or technique. More than likely, if you are unhappy with your current work, it means that your artistic eye has grown enough that you are ready to go to the next level with your practical skills! You just have to persevere.
Always a good time to burn down yet another village!

i swear to god if people don't start understanding that responding to doylist critique of a piece of media with watsonian exonerations is not an actual rebuttal
somebody saying "hey i don't like that the only gay man in this story is a weird pervert and it portrays gay sexual promiscuity as a moral failing and character flaw" cannot be rebuked by arguing about how the character's backstory or personality traits explain their behaviour. the choices made by a writer are all fundamentally mutable; somebody saying an author's choices should have been different is not going to be persuaded by an argument that takes those choices as immovable fact
