For the fic rec game, fandom(s) of your choice: 6, 8, 18 and 22? :)
Thank you for asking, I shall try my best to pick some nice recs 🫡
6 A fic that kept me on the edge of my seat
<.< I really haven't read much high suspense recently, or in general, but I hope that RoseGanymede95's " Who? You mean your teammate in the Codependency World Cup?" series counts.
Though technically I guess I have to rec a single fic, so how about part 5 of the series, "Like We're Gonna Die Young (Again)", a Dead Boy Detectives story that's set pre series. It's a case fic, in a way, but also very much a captivating insight into the characters and really, in my opinion, a truly well told thriller that has both mystery and horror elements.
It's dark. Like anyone interested in this, do mind the tags, they're there for a reason, but oooh it's so worth it. (Also technically it's a ship-fic, but more in a "let's explore a relationship where both people involved feel deeply for each other without any outright acknowledged romance" which, hi yes, I'm also here for that.)
It's great and well worth the read!
8. A fic that deserves more love
So many, but let's go with Sanditon Ho! by branchcloudsky because even as someone who hasn't (yet) read Sanditon, and who hasn't (and won't) watched the series... THIS IS HILARIOUS!
It made me laugh and I enjoyed every second if it and it's just really delightful. Also it comes with some nice trivia! (Also, gen fic! Love for gen fics!)
I've recently come across the amazing #eridianwelcomingcommitte which was started by @justcakethanks and is by now almost a fandom of its own. Like it's hilarious, lovely, amaze amaze amaze!
And there's a fic for it! Kind regards, the Eridian Welcoming Committee by Fruitbird15.
A wonderfully fun Project Hail Mary ficlet that I can't recommend enough! It's lovely! Brightens any day.
You know what, because we love and cherish gen fics, and because I've reread it yesterday
The Northanger Abbey 2025 Inkvent – The Children of Fullerton
Which was written and posted in December, but that's the only seasonal thing about it, which made it a very pleasing read even in July. 25 little stories about little Morlands, navigating the various big and small adventures of childhood, adolescence, growing up and everything that leads to.
Pure fluff, with some feelings, and plenty of humour, as well as impeccable kid logic 😉
I love "my" mini Morlands 😊 (And I will return to my beloved "Fullerby" again in December)
