pair of double coloured hues keep watch as bakugo collects his balance steadily , in his own time , though todoroki was ready to catch him if he fell back . some sort of an instinct he guesses . his attention switch to the small explosion , how did he not see he was cuffed ? what in the world had happened to him in the short span of time since this training started ? more importantly , who did this to him ? all of these questions that’ll be left unanswered roam around in his thoughts trying to make sense of this ordeal .
shoto backs away to give bakugo some space to breathe , to recollect himself . he feels his pair looking at him , so he returns the look , a beat to notice something off with katsuki . his cheeks exposing a light shade of red across his tear stained cheeks before it gets wiped away . whatever it was & how it happened , it shook the other right to the core , hitting him right in his weak spots … it’s like they knew how to break him . despite the words waiting to fall upon his lips , etching itself in his already muddled mind , todoroki doesn’t speak up . eyes finally met in a gaze , a small nod is initiated .
he stays back , allowing the blond to be a few steps ahead , though with a struggle . it was surreal to see this side of bakugo , even with the tiny bits of what it is of him still being present in his mannerisms , in his speech , but this wasn’t like the usual . this was something entirely different . no name calling , no unprovoked temper … there was none of that . todoroki follows him , staying close behind , ready to give him support if it was needed . the quiet wince did not go unnoticed with shoto . his own features naturally soften its serious guise , his head tilts a little to his side as if trying to get a good look of katsuki , ❛ bakugo —- ❜ he speaks up only to be cut off mid utterances , an eyebrow raise with suspicion , what is that supposed to mean ?
similarities are there . almost terrifying . it was like looking at himself in the mirror ; the stubborn persona , unresolved trauma , the need to keep up this tough exterior to the world , to show the world you are unbreakable . the parallels was not hard to miss . & then todoroki felt he could easily sympathise with bakugo . the defeated request from the other was met with a nod , he catches up to his side , fingers curling around katsuki’s wrist in a tender hold , carefully pulling his arm around his own shoulders .
❛ i don’t care if tell me or not . if you want to tell me , i’d want you to do so on your own accord , ❜ it was very easy for shoto to say , while deep down he was curious . only because he wanted it to make sense . ❛ just do me a favour & stay with me , can you do that ? ❜
shaky breathes come to &. fro past parted lips , hitching every so slightly when gentle fingers curl around his wounded wrist , pulling his arm around his shoulders . leaning into shoto his head hangs a little , looking down at their feet for a moment before darting upwards , listening . a short breath comes out forcefully , almost like a scoff but had none of the energy one would have . katsuki was smarter than what people would think , he was observant , could catch onto certain things in the correct situation . ❛ you wouldn’t of a - asked if you didn’t care , todoroki .. ❜ swallowing , throat &. mouth unbearably dry but there’s a small nod of his head , followed by a weary ❛ i can do that . ❜
as shoto moves , so does he despite the pain it causes him , biting his lip to silence sounds that may come from lips . he didn’t want to be weak but he’s barely holding on still , fraying at the seems . eyes shut for a moment , just needing to rest them for a mere few seconds as he listens to them both moving , the breathes that come from the taller . he can’t help but chuckle pathetically . who would’ve thought shoto would be the one to find him at his weakest &. most vulnerable. or to help him out from it .
eyes open , the brightness a little too sensitive opticals which causes the shorter to wince a little . ❛ how did you find me .. ? i .. i was certain i was going to be left in there .. stuck until .. ❜ fuck ----- those stupid tears start to well up once more , hot on his cheeks as they roll down &. drip .
he hates it , this vulnerability , to be seen as anything other than the brute force he was . shaking his head a little , he wants to laugh , scream , cry . mixed emotions , built up for far too long . settled trauma that haunts him still yet for what feels like years .
it feels like a moment &. now they approaching the front of the dorms , had he been in his own head for that long ? he felt so tired &. yet he couldn’t let himself slip under , terrified that as soon as he takes off his costume &. tries to sleep , he’ll be brought back to that place . he doesn’t want to relive these old memories . nobody had even known what they did to him , what the league of villains did to katsuki .
as they walk up the steps &. enter the dorm , he lets shoto guide him over towards the common area , seated on one of the sofa’s there . tired , glossy eyes gaze at the younger , he wants to say so much &. yet nothing comes forward but a tear guided by the tracks of past ones . he’s weak , destroyed . ❛ i’m sorry ----- ❜ it comes out &. he least expects it , to apologize , especially to shoto . shoulders tense &. come up , hands covering his face as he feels hot tears once again . he can’t stop it , even if he wanted . nothing could stop the torture that katsuki feels right now , the memories surging back , ruining him once more .
