Js had a horrible realisation that Spencer Reid likes Halloween because it’s the only holiday he can really enjoy. You spend Christmas with family. Father’s Day is pointless because his dad left him. Mother’s Day is bittersweet because of his mom’s condition. Valentines is traumatic because of Maeve. Almost all holidays require having someone to spend them with. As a kid Spencer could trick or treat on his own. As an adult he can answer the door. It’s the only holiday he’s not alone for. Oh goddddddd oh goddd. From what I remember at some point in the show we see a photo of Spencer and his parents at Christmas, so we know before Diana became more unstable and before his dad left, Spencer did have a taste of a ‘normal’ family holiday. His eidetic memory means he probably remembers every card he sent and received for those holidays. Ok I have to stop now I’m upsetting myself
