iām trying my best to wipe this condensation off, but the window keeps on fogging up- thereās a glimpse, a line of clarity, where you draw a face, smiling, then itās gone. i mean, you have me checking my eyesight, but itās good as ever, iām just staring into a pool hoping to see a solid reflection, and you keep making waves. you wonāt even look over. iām not religious, but iām praying that youāll grab my wrist, drag me in, drown me. anything as long as you want me there. i mean, when we make plans i wait and wait and wait and always hear youāve done it with someone else. i know i canāt dance the steps you seem to love most. i donāt want to. i wouldnāt, if i could, and you still wouldnāt look, if i could. i donāt know that handshake, and even if i memorise the words, when iām up on stage their falseness would stick them to the underside of my tongue like glue- i canāt do what others make look so easy. but i always, always heel
