I Really can't stop thinking about Mikey & the Donnie Pods.
Is just... in the scene they use it... I know he explicitly says he doesn't know how they got to the lair the moment they arrive... but....
It kills me knowing that Mikey probably though that this:
He probably though that all that was the Kraang throwing him around and not the pod saving him.
He didn't open his eyes until they arrived at the lair, and once there he literally grabbed the first person he could and attached to them (who was Casey)
He was so terrified!!
And just Donnie going to hold him once Casey tries to release himself from Mikey.
and he keeps holding Mikey until Leo arrives... I -
they mean a lot to me, k?
AWESOME. NOBODY WATCH IT
got this from twitter btw
mormon kids under the age of 18 being told their church is a cult
mormons 18-24 after they go through their endowment ceremony and receive their new name and secret clothing and learn the secret handshakes and passwords and realize everyone around them has been secretly doing this the whole time and now theyre going to be sent away from their family for 2 years where they will literally not be allowed to be alone for 1 second of the day except to go to the bathroom and they have no idea how to get out of what they just got into
one of the only perks of being a mormon woman is that i didnāt get my endowment at age 19 and i had a little extra time to mature and be out on my own. thatās all i needed to make a clean break and i got out at 21 before i wouldve gotten my endowment.Ā
wait what? can anyone elaborate on this? because I had no idea this was a thing
basically when youre a mormon kid growing up you realize your church is a little strict but youāre like whatever. i have friends at church because i go to church 6 days a week and everyone around me is affirming that this is the right thing to do and we have special knowledge no one else has otherwise everyone would be like this. so youve gotta go teach them & itās the greatest thing in the world to be a missionary. also the temple is beautiful and amazing and spiritual and holy and everyone wants to go there. but itās a secret! :) because itās holy and sacred
then if youre a boy and u turn 18 theyāre like wow amazing!!! you get to go on a mission and be like all the great men around you!! and now you get to go through the temple! so #blessed!
and then you go through the temple and all the above mentioned SECRET CULTY SHIT happens (EXPLANATION HEREĀ http://mormoncurtain.infymus.com/topic_templeceremonies.html) and youre shipped off to a strange place where everything you eat, wear, go, listen to and do is controlled, and youāre not allowed to talk to your family or friends (except through a once-a-week email) and you literally are being watched by your companion at all. times.Ā
some might say āyou can leave at any timeā but consider that i never went on a mission and i never went through the temple and i still consider leaving the mormon church the hardest thing i ever did. you have no social network outside the church. you are lacking major knowledge and skills. you have to grapple with the fact that you may never see your family again.
Iām reblogging this again bc I have Thoughts.
Leaving is such an isolating experience. No one inside wants anything to do with you anymore and no one outside understands the scale of messed up that Mormonism is. Like itās easy to point and laugh at the ridiculousness, but itās literally a cult. Thereās so much trauma involved and thereās trauma in leaving.
People on the outside donāt understand how hard it is to leave. I grew up where all my friends were catholic and are no longer religious and theyāre like āwell everyone hates church, you just stop goingā but Mormonism isnāt like that at all. For starters I had to get a lawyer involved to leave and then the ostracization from the entire community that nurtured me growing up was just the cherry on top. Itās effectively being shunned. Everyone you were forced to call sister and brother growing up no longer wants anything to do with you. And you deserve it, because you shouldnāt have fallen for the anti-Mormon lies.
Leaving The Church was the hardest thing I ever did and my family accepts me so Iām a lucky one. But they still ardently adhere to the institution that hurt me and has resulted in the deaths of people I love. I will never understand.
āThereās so much trauma involved and thereās trauma in leaving.ā
Itās easy for people looking in from the outside to forget this. Thank you for the reminder. Can anyone recommend resources for young Mormons looking to explore their options?
Please note: this post will be directly addressed to those hypothetical young Mormons
If you know youāre ready to leave, use quitmormon.com. Itās run by the guy from reddit who is now famous in exmormon circles for offering absolutely free legal services to anybody who needs help leaving. You can give your church id number if you know it, but itās not required (I never memorized mine, and I sure wasnāt going to ask for it). He takes care of everything. This keeps TSCC (the so-called church) from getting all your latest info and keeps them from hassling you or harassing you. They have to talk to your lawyer instead. Pre 2015, it felt almost impossible to try to leave, but itās a lot easier now! The years of picketing General Conference to force an excommunication trial are over!
Find a support system. Lean on your friends that have never been mormon, any family members who left, anyone you know who left. Iām an exmormon happy to answer any questions, and Iām sure there are plenty others in the notes who would be super willing to be supportive too. Exmormon groups are many and varied now, and itās best to find the one that vibes for you. Thereās a subreddit thatās popular, but I personally used - and I know this sounds weird, since I donāt have kids - a forum called Mormonism & More on the site babycenter.com. It was started several years ago by some mormons who had questions they werenāt allowed to ask on the normal mormon board (because that board required uplifting, mormon-approved answers at all times). Itās since shifted to ex-mormons or people who want to leave but canāt right now because of family situations. Even though the threads were years old, I spent weeks on that forum, reading about what other people had gone through and how they got through it, and to me, that was super helpful.
Research the culty stuff at your own peril. I liked learning about that stuff for a really long time, because I felt learning about all those secrets (I especially liked learning about the truth of the Book of Abraham) ⦠it helped me feel valid in my choice. It helped me keep in mind that this was something that I had escaped, something that had wanted to hurt me. Missing your abuser doesnāt mean you should go back, it means you should keep moving forward. Missing your cult has the same solution. Lots of people fell for the āweāre totally not a cult!ā line by TSCC. Some of them will not offer sympathy. If you want to watch the hidden camera videos of endowments and other temple stuff, I would super super recommend you have a trusted friend watch them with you. And bring comfort food. Youāll probably need it.
TSCC put out a series of essays on controversial (read: faith-killing, eye-opening, omg how could I have ever supported the people who did this) issues in mormon history. They are the Orthodox LDS pre-approved responses to a lot of the more incriminating accusations that have been leveled at TSCC over the years. They should be hosted on TSCC website somewhere, and would have been posted around or after 2015. They may reaffirm your faith now that you know TSCCās defense, but they may push you right out the door. (Or break the shelf? Do Mormons still use the shelf analogy, or is that retired now?)
Lots of mormons become atheists after leaving. Many join mainstream xian churches. Some become witches, some study every religion they can get their hands on, some try to go back and realize all the magic (or holy spirit, if you prefer) is gone. Donāt think you have to know right away. Some people throw away or burn all their mormon stuff, some people keep it to show their kids, but again, you donāt have to make that decision right away. Some people call TSCC a cult after they leave, myself included, but you donāt have to if it makes you uncomfortable or it it doesnāt feel true to your experience.
Look up religious trauma syndrome. Itās real. The pain you will probably feel is real, the grief you will probably feel is real, and in many ways, you may have to mourn the death of what you were always told Life Will Be For You.
And learn that the world is not half as evil as TSCC told you. Your coworkers who drink a beer at the end of the day are not evil or abusive. Your friends who wear sleeveless shirts are not evil or promiscuous. Youāre allowed to wear short shorts! Youāre allowed to drink coffee! Youāre allowed to ask questions in a faith community without being silenced or condemned! Youāre allowed to not want kids! Thereās a lot of unlearning here.
TLDR? You have options. You have freedom. Find nonmormon friends who will support you. Be kind to yourself.
People joke about Mormons but this is the first time Iāve seen anything at all directed towards people who need to get out.
I had a high school friend turned college roommate who left, moved 4 hrs away, and I had to lie to people who showed up repeatedly that he wasnāt home. Thatās just the smallest outside perspective of this. They kept coming.
It is a cult. It operates by manipulating people. My aunt, who also left, converted from Catholicism when she was a single mother in her 20s who needed help. The church gave her a network of tangible support and got her through a vulnerable, scary time in her lifeāand used that

Holy FUCK, this is an amazing tool.
Reblogging for my artist fellows.
Reblog this!
wow youāre the tumblr person
One of seven other tumblr people
Ah yes the original seven sins.Ā
@pukicho
@pmseymourvaĀ
@biggest-gaudiest-patronusesĀ
@one-time-i-dreamt
@just-shower-thoughtsĀ
@writing-prompt-s
@badjokesbyjeff
Which sin am I
Pride, greed, wrath, sloth, envy, lust, gluttony
@one-time-i-dreamt has to be sloth
@pukicho is pride
@biggest-gaudiest-patronuses is wrath, though I am tempted to put down pride and gluttony for them as well
@just-shower-thoughts Iām going to say gluttony because a surprising amount of posts have to do with food
@writing-prompt-s i have no idea what to put honestly. Perhaps envy, because every writer/artist I know has a little envy when they see other people being better than them. Not really specific to @writing-prompt-s, though
@badjokesbyjeff is a tough one, I donāt really see them embodying any of these. Iām going to put greed here because itās the last one. (I know, I knowā¦)
@pmseymourva ill be honest, hadnāt heard of them before but after scrolling though their archives they seem to post quite a few drawings of pretty girls. Maybe lust?
Lost steam there towards the end but anyway, hope that answers your question, @one-time-i-dreamt !

Why do you say "do not repost" your art? Unless it's paysite material I mostly ignore that line. I mean, reblogs & re-tweets technically count as a art repost so that makes "do not repost" invalid. If you don't want your art out there don't post it to the internet. Not trying to come off as mean, that's just the mindset I have. Once you posts something to the internet... it's out there.
ā¦ā¦ hm.
when i sayĀ ādo not repostā i mean, do not:Ā
save my art to your computer
reupload it to your own social media site, especially without credit
exploit my my art so you can become more popular/get more attention/etc
reblogging/retweeting is not the same as reposting. those actually allow the artist to keep ownership of their own art as it gets spread around. they are different things.
itās not that i donāt want my art to be on the internet. thatās why i post it. but i donāt want OTHER people taking credit for MY art and the hard work i put into it. i have a store where i sell my art. having people repost my art to their own sites literally takes money away from me. because people donāt know that IāM the artist who drew it, then they donāt know about my store, and instead consume my art mainly through websites that repost my art for their own amusement or profit.
do you know how many japanese artists have deleted their pixiv/twitter accounts because people kept reposting their art without permission, OR credit, and have even profited from stealing their work? so much art is floating out there without an owner because the japanese artists were harassed so much due to their art constantly being reposted without any credit to them, that they had to disappear from the internet just so they could keep ownership of the rest of their art.Ā
do you know how many people found my art through pinterest? iāve gotten so many messages from people saying they found my art there, and it took them anywhere from days to WEEKS to find me and my blog, because most, if not all of it was posted 1. without credit, or 2, without a link back to the original, because the pinterest user reuploaded it from their own computer.Ā
do you know how many people try to apply for jobs with their art, but canāt seem to claim ownership of their own portfolio because itās been so spread out and reposted everywhere on the internet, that companies canāt be sure that the person theyāre interviewing is the actual artist themself?
i donāt think you understand just how detrimental reposting is to artists. and i donāt think you understand how important it is for people to respect artistsā wishes. my art is not yours to use for your own amusement. there is a reason why most websites have a dmca report option, to take down unauthorized use of their art. even the law recognizes it as a personal right.
i do want my art to be shown to the world, but under my own terms. i want my wishes in regards to my art to be respected. you are not doing me any favors by reposting my art onto other sites without permission or credit. just the opposite, in factāyour hurting me personally, financially, and possibly hurting my chances of earning a job with my art.Ā
so in conclusion, here are the dangers of reposting:
the artists loses ownership of their art
no one knows who made it anymore, and donāt care
the artists stop making art because all that happens is their art gets reposted without a source, and so they prefer to disappear off the internet entirely. the world has now just lost an amazing artist.
people make a profit off their art, literally stealing money and potential customers from them, because no one knows where the art originated from
they lose job opportunities because the reposting and art theft is so ubiquitous, that even if they are the original artist, no one can be sure of that.
etc.
reposting is detrimental. itās not the same thing as reblogging/retweeting, itās something that literally harms artists in the long run.Ā
at the end of the day, the biggest way to prevent this from happening is by respecting the artistās wishes with some basic human decency. thatās literally it.
i hope iāve cleared some things up for you.
Are there any blue roses? Like real ones. Or do they just take the white, green, or red ones then paint them as blue?
no, blue roses donāt occur in nature- but theyāre easy to make artificially. just place a cut white rose into blue-dyed water and wait a bit, and eventually the rose will be blue. also why did you ask me this
i used to stick flowers in dye as a kid to make them different colors
every month i track down and kill a member of various professions so that i can absorb their workplace knowledge. last june i shredded a florist
I lived and worked in a lighthouse at a previous job.Ā There was a thick line painted in a circle around the shack where the fog signal was kept.Ā The line represented how close you could get to the fog signal without experiencing physical harm in the form of eardrums shattering or worse.
Even in the house it was LOUD.Ā Probably the loudest thing I have ever experienced but at a normal, predictable interval.Ā You would begin to time your sentences with little pauses with the rest of the lighthouse crew so you would talk like this while making yourā¦ā¦ā¦..HORNā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦. tea and then carry on talking because you knew when it would go off.Ā It rattled the walls and the dishes in our cabinet.
At least one girl had died there. They kept photos of her everywhereĀ āin honor of her sacrificeā because she had decided to take the winter watch alone and died in a storm where bounders the size of mini vans had been lifted out of the ocean and left scattered across the island, to say nothing of the ice chunks.Ā People werenāt allowed to be alone on the watch after that.
One day a dead moose washed up on shore and it took my entire crew all day but we managed to rig up a line to hang it up to dry because we thought having a moose skeleton in the house would really spice the living room up a bit.Ā It did.Ā Weird shit happens when six of you are left alone, like ALONE ALONE, no cell reception, no wifi, just a radio to contact the real world and not a lot of reason to do that.Ā People donāt go on lighthouse jobs if they want to stay connected, Iāve found.
That said Id do it all again, I really do treasure those days
Placing these one after another makes it look like he left got a lighthouse job and came back six months later to update the drive through employee

all queer history on here is just US-American or maybe sometimes some UK history as well and it makes me sad that thereās so little information about other countriesā queer history on here :(
@makingqueerhistory has some diversity, as of historical queer people, and theyāre doing a great job, but thereās a lot of work ahead.Ā
OP is definitely right, there still is a huge gap in the discussions of queer history, and thank you for recommending us!
This isnāt perfect, and many of these only have one article, but here is our list of countries we have written about. We are hoping to one day have at least one article for every country in the world but as @every-book-has-a-secret there is a lot of work still to do.

PERUVIAN QUEER HISTORY???? God, I love this site

@queerasfact is a pretty cool blog and podcast dedicated to international queer history!
Thanks for tagging us! Weāve got a list here of all our episodes sorted by country. Thereās definitely a lot we havenāt covered, but if youāre looking for a specific area, you can check it out.
