where is my mind?

          “ O-oh… ” he can practically feel his cheeks warming up again as he stares at the pavement. he doesn’t know why, but jax saying he’d do anything with him makes him very happy. maybe it’s just him being biased but whatever jax do–even breathing, makes him really happy. 

          “ I’d do anything with you too… ” he mumbled, audible enough for the wolf to hear him considering at how close they are now, the warmth radiating from the other makes his shoulders relaxed and the responsibilities as a bookkeeper were forgotten. “ maybe we can get something to eat afterwards…? ” his eyes met jax’s, there’s uncertainty reflected in his eyes. That’s what people on a date usually do, right? though their diet are completely different, seojun doesn’t mind accompanying him when he’s eating if that means he gets to spend more time with him. 

          “I don’t have a basement,” he chuckles, “haedogje-pa’s basement is the least place I want to take you, the worse is that i’ll take you to the arcade all night long,” he smiles, feeling slightly smug over the matter. 

          He laughs, the colors of his cheeks reddened until he feels warm on his ears. “I’ll put up a bonfire for you to warm you up,” he laughs, “unless you have another thing in mind, then I’m willing to listen and comply,” he’s not sure what he’s saying or even suggesting, but he wanted to hear jaxon’s voice as much as he can.  

          It’s when he stepped on the uneven pavement covered in sand that he stopped temporarily. removing his shoes and socks just to feel the sand underneath his barefoot while carrying his shoes on the other hand, “ take off your shoes, who wears shoes in the beach anyway? ” he nudges jax on the feet using his own. The sound of waves crashing to the shore was close on his ears and he’s so excited to spend the night on the beach with jax. 

          it was almost amusing, to watch as his affect on the other unfolded so innocently. in the same respect, he could relate. often found himself a mess of stuttering and awkwardness under that newly found honeymoon phase. couldn’t help it. nor did he want to. allowed it to consume him, until he couldn’t breathe. that same feeling that ushered in butterflies in ones stomach, or the tantalising feeling of ones heart beating out of their chests. he felt it all, and loved it perhaps too much.

          “you would?” and though he didn’t doubt the statement, it still came as somewhat of a shock. had never had someone make such a promise to him, to the extent he could believe it. and the blush that tainted the otherwise fairness of his cheeks was enough for him to duck his head down, in a failed attempt to hide how flustered he was. “yes, please. i-i’d really love that,” this date, after all, was something he’d been looking forward to since it was arranged. often times couldn’t sleep under excitement. 

          “you can take me to an arcade, but i can’t promise i won’t destroy your ass at the games they have there. you’re no match for me, mark my words,” a pretty empty threat, given the laughter behind his voice, and the way his eyes creased at the corners.

          “i had cuddling in mind. but we can do a bonfire, just for that little bit extra. i’m deadset on cuddling, though, you’re not getting out of that one.” to an extent, he was honest. took on the persona of his species a little too perfectly, and often acted like a puppy. if he had a tail in human form, he was sure it would do nothing but wag at every given moment. 

          jax couldn’t help but watch, though. found he was often in this state of amazement around the other, couldn’t help but take every moment in and savour it for a later date. only when he was playfully scolded, did he actually move himself to copy the motion of undressing his feet. “you’re so bossy, damn.” the werewolf said through a giggle, pulling the other along with him closer to the shore. 

          The vampire chuckled, warmth filled his chest listening to what the other has said and maybe one of the causes is their interlocked fingers too. “ I wouldn’t call myself a knight in shining armor though, ” he mumbled, pointing over to the opposite side while tugging on their hands together since there’s a shortcut route to coastline. 

          “ Yeah we’re going to the beach! ” perhaps he said it too enthusiastically. He has never been to the beach before, especially not when the sun is up and as sad as it is, he only had seen sunsets in pictures since he’s not immune to sunlight yet. He was happy that jax agreed on going to the beach with him, even if it’s at night. 

          “ Shouldn’t it be me? Since i’m the one who gently persuade you to come with me after all,” he snickered, “ do you mind getting kidnapped by a vampire? ” he raised an eyebrow as they walk out of the headquarters while seojun pull himself closer to jax, since he’s much more warmer than him and he finds comfort in it. 

          Walking out of the haedogje-pa’s headquarters has never felt so relieving before. Normally, seojun feels the safest when he’s in the headquarters but that changed when he’s around the werewolf. He’s not sure himself, despite them being in different sides both on species and gang, they managed to work it out somehow and seojun is grateful for every moment he spent with the other. 

          “ Do you think we can go for a swim? ” he mused out, eyes glancing over the wolf in curiosity. “ Then again, the water might be cold, I wouldn’t want you to freeze to death, ” he swings their arm lightly, eyes unable to move away from jax’s face.  

          “oh you definitely are. you’re my knight in shining armour. trust me.” the werewolf finished his words with an affirmative nod, almost entirely sure in himself and everything he said. even if it was to give the other a confidence boost of sorts.

          jax moved himself closer to the other, allowed their shoulders to brush with each step taken, craved the close proximity as though it were a drug and he were addicted. couldn’t help the clinginess he’d felt, if only to constantly feel the vampire against him, revel in the slight chill he felt from it. “are we doing anything after? or are we just staying by the beach? not that i have any problem with that, of course! i just... i-i’d do anything with you, that’s all.”

          the werewolf laughed softly to himself, head shaking. of course he wouldn’t mind anything his vampire did, no matter how outlandish it came across. and while he knew he should mind, with the vampire and werewolf divide, he couldn’t help but go along with anything seojun would say. “you think i’d mind being kidnapped by you? please, you could lock me in your basement and i’d still have heart eyes.”

          the younger released a shallow breath as soon as the couple had left haedogje pa’s turf, no longer felt as though he was keeping himself to himself out of fear of being caught. now he could simply focus on the other, without feeling as though the two had prying eyes watching their every move. perhaps they had, but to an extent, jax didn’t care. couldn’t find it in himself to care if anyone found out about their secret arrangement. not anymore.

          “if you want to swim, i’ll swim with you. you’ll just have to warm me up afterwards,” and despite the flirtatious suggestion, jaxon wasn’t entirely sure where he was going with it. wasn’t entirely sure how far he’d push himself, nor what he was comfortable with. only knew that, for the time being, he’d do anything if only to see the faint colour rise upon the other’s cheeks.

          Seojun had finished his work faster than usual, his heart is hammering on his chest when he smiled down at several members and even quicken his pace when one of them caught on how fast his heart beating. “Gotta go!” he dismisses them quickly before running out of the headquarters. He should’ve known asking the other to enter the haedogje-pa’s territory is a bad idea. 

          The moment he went outside, he could smell jax’s particular smell that’s carried by the wind. It didn’t stink at all, maybe the other vampires are exaggerating about that. seojun walked faster and eventually into a sprint when he saw jax with one of their members. “ he’s with me! ” he said hastily and walk in between the…guy–whom he recognized the face but never caught his name, and jax as if it’ll change anything.  

          Thankfully the guy just shrug it off and scurried away, good thing he didn’t ask anything further or else he wouldn’t know what to say–or explain why a wolf is visiting the headquarters for him. “ I guess we shouldn’t meet up at each others headquarters next time… ” he sighed, turning to face jax as his hand shyly trail over the other’s arm. 

          “ So uh… ” now that they were left alone, seojun could feel his cheeks warming up as he gazed down to the space in between them before mustering up the courage to look at the other’s eyes. “ Shall we go…? ”

          a breath of relief was uttered when seojun actively took to rescuing him. it would’ve been a hard job, to explain away the notion of him sneaking around another gang’s headquarters, in the manner he had done it. unusual, he thought, for a vampire to spare his life without so much as a question to why he was there in the first place. it wasn’t necessarily difficult to tell the younger was a werewolf, nor from another gang, if one were to look at the tattoo glorified on the side of his neck.

          his shoulders sunk, though, as he reclaimed his stature. stood up with a grin the size of the moon when his eyes caught seojun. perhaps it was through thrill, or perhaps even adoration that brought on such a look. but he couldn’t contain himself either way, nor was he shy to hide as much.

          thus found the werewolf reaching out to take the other’s hand into his own, fingers shifting to lock themselves with the other set, clinging on loosely. “maybe not. but it’s nice to have a knight in shining armour around here, i won’t lie.”

          with the suggestion of taking off, jax allowed an enthusiastic nod to follow, almost immediately taking off towards, what he assumed was, the coastline. he’d admit that he wasn’t the most familiar with seoul’s locations, could only just recognise haedogje pa’s turf, nevermind anything else.

          “we are going to the beach, right? i’m not just kidnapping you and hoping for the best?” the wolf asked, perhaps too keen to get a move on. judging by the looks he’d garnered from other members of the vampire’s gang, though, it was clear to see why.

a few months in and still, there’s that glint in those wide eyes, mouth slightly parted, sweet-toothed innocence - it’s terribly endearing, and soren can’t help but to be amused at the boy. 

he’s heard the stories, of course - word travels fast of new recruits, especially those with the most curious of entrances. he considers it a shame that they haven’t spoken since the werewolf made a home with haengunwi chil, but his nights have been ever busy - this one in particular is no different.

“share a seat with me, sweetheart? i’m positively sore all over and my knees have been through too much in the past few hours.” he’s sighing, not waiting for the boy’s answer before squeezing himself into what little space remains in his chair, half-sitting on the other. empty chairs around them remain ignored. 

invasive, perhaps, with how he leans back comfortably against the taller boy, as if there weren’t mere strangers at best; makes himself at home on his lap, angry bruises trailing from necks to open collars shown off with smirks. 

“apologies for not welcoming you sooner, dear. you know how work is.” casual, almost as if he was speaking to an old friend. “heard you broke into our servers ‘fore they recruited you - didja find my file?” 

he’s staring now, unashamed. words are almost purring - “see anything you like?” 

          it had been hectic, this move to the gang. without everyone casting him side-glances, too. it wasn’t everyday you came across a hacker with the abilities he possessed, after all. no inch of privacy that he couldn’t invade. and it was perhaps his lack of interest to invade privacy that led to those side glances in the first place.

          nevertheless, jax kept to himself for the most part, particularly the back room, where he could continue with his work, without the risk of intrusion during the early hours of the morning. one of the few advantages of being nocturnal. 

          and he hadn’t noticed the other come in immediately, not until he’d made himself known with sultry words, most of which the younger didn’t fully understand. couldn’t pick up on hints nor teasing, even if his life depended on it. and it was because of that, jax met those words with the biggest grin he could offer, entirely too innocent.

          the werewolf even scooted over just slightly, to allow the other some room to breathe. “what did you do to your knees? maybe you should sleep or something, just to give ‘em a little rest, you know?” and it was with genuine concern the suggestions fled from his lips, all while shifting himself to further scope out his companion for the night. 

          “i didn’t find yours, no. i just found a lot to do with the deals this gang makes with others. nothing too spicy.” the werewolf shrugged, completely oblivious.
