wille got therapy this season and destroyed the monarchy, who's doing it like him?

the problem isn't that villanelle died, it really isn't. I was fully prepared for one or both of them to die. the problem is that they gave 30 mins of love that they haven't given otherwise in the past seasons. they built up the expectation of a possible happy ending, just to pull a guttural out of left field death in the last 3 minutes that made no actual sense and had no meaning. to cut down a character as deep and complicated as villanelle and having it be the last impression of the show is just cruel and absolutely ruined the entirety of the show. like if you were going to kill villanelle then do it with MEANING and PURPOSE not some last minute toss of the dice that you add onto the end and call it a day. the more I think about it the more angry I get and I just cannot fathom how anyone thought it was a good idea, it's all just so enraging
